Glad to found that someone gave some love to the block tree, but counter stroke doesn't make much sense, why a person blocking will deal damage to the attacker? Is some magical buff apply or something?
It doesn't make much sense that one.

Looks like an interesting mod for my heavy shield user. I have two questions though. Will this give me any issues upon install if I already have points in the vanilla Block Tree? I don't see any mention of the Block Runner skill. What will this mod do to it?

I was just wondering if this mod works with the parry (block with offhand weapon) mod? I am a dual wielder but can't stand it without being able to block. This mod would make that experience much more rewarding >.< Hope to hear back

On violent impact a good work around to paralysis immunity would be to instead make it a very strong stagger effect, and combine that with a script that applies PushActorAway at a very low force setting; enemies who arn't immune to it literally knocked over by the Push function, while actors who are immune to it will be heavily staggered by the stagger component.

    Just a thought

    @arcspanacea:

Thanks, and I'm glad you're enjoying the mod! I'm okay with not as many people downloading the mod at the moment... it puts a bit less pressure on me to consistently get off my lazy butt and make some significant progress on it. I'm really hoping to get all the perks fully functional for the time being... especially counter blow since it currently does absolutely nothing. Once I get Counter Blow and Warding Flames sorted out, I'll start looking into ways I might be able to inject the current vanilla perks with more of my intended functionality.

Whether you are just getting into block or have a predisposed love for it, this mod is awesome.

I'm currently [role]playing a character that will only use offensive spells or pick up a weapon to progress quest lines. She only uses a shield, conjuration, alteration, restoration, and sneak. So this makes the shield a lot more expansive and now I have awesome perks to put points into instead the one and two handed weapon alternatives.

Awesome job sir! More people need to download this. I honestly can't believe there are only 12 total downloads!

You've improved my gaming experience. 'Nuff said. Thanks D.U.

I can't wait to see what you come up with to improve it further.

For anyone waiting for this mod: I have not abandoned this. Progress is going slowly because I'm trying to figure out the best way to accomplish much of what I intend for the mod. I have scrapped my original file, and the next version will use my personal unique versions of the block perks. I'm creating duplicates of existing perks and renaming them with a standard format to keep organized. I will release the next version when I have the majority of the perks functioning as intended. The biggest pain in the butt so far is actually the torch bash perk, excepting the changes I can't even begin to attempt (*coughcough* Deflect Arrows... *coughcough*)

Also, if anyone has any familiarity with how reflected damage works, it would go a long way towards helping me with the sword-specific perks.

Finally someone is taking a good approach to the blocking tree with duelists (no off-hand) in mind!

I realy like your general idea of seperating shield and non-shield specific perks.

I'll definitely track this mod an check it out as soon as my current charakter starts to learn blocking

So I'm still working on this...
The Warding Flames perk is not working yet. I have it set to apply bashing spell > select spell > torchbashfear with the requirement of having a torch out. I have tested it with all the perks required, but the fear effect is not being applied. Any help with getting this working would be appreciated.

I have the torch bashing spell that is applied with the warding flames perk set to affect confidence with a magnitude of 500 (should be level 500) and a duration of 2 seconds.

MANY THANKS to jack013, I've managed to add the torch perk to the block tree and rearrange the tree somewhat. If anyone can give me some tips on arranging them into a sort of image looking thing, that would be appreciated. Right now the tree looks like a trident.

I'm getting closer to getting some perks working, others that require more complex effects (modified Deflect Arrows and Violent Impact, to name two,) are not making progress. Anyone who can help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll see what I can learn from other similar effects already in game, but some specific issues as far as Violent Impact have arisen:

What magic effect produces a knockdown effect similar to a level 3 unrelenting force? I can find paralysis and stagger, but I'm not sure what to use. Also, if I have to use the actual unrelenting force effect, can I weaken it so they just fall over, instead of going flying?
