Check out my new mod that uses your saddles:

HOP - Horses On Patrol - Extra Orcs

Thanks for open permission on your saddles. TreasureChest has open permission, as well, and was linked too.

Thanks a lot for the pics. =)

Slof has some great textures. I prefer hers and Zira's for my horses as well. Have lots of different horses in my game. I'm just crazy about them. Haha.

Here's some pictures of your saddles (and bridle!) in use on some of Slof's horse textures.

Thanks again for all your help. <img class="> Endorsed!

Thanks. I do what's in my hands to fix my stuff or fulfill little extra wishes. ^^

I'm happy, if other people like what I create for myself. xD And yeah, after playing it through several times, you want the most deluxe look out if it possible.

I'm glad we got it to work for you. Have fun!

Haha thanks for the fixes and edits. You're so sweet. Seriously love this mod, too. I'm pretty addicted to playing with great aesthetics since I've played the game through so many times already...

Ah, alright, it worked then, yeah? Good!

Well, that error occured, because I took some .nif file of my hunter saddles from a different directory, that I had adjusted for myself and didn't remember that I did.
Privately I have changes in some files, because I replace Convenient Horses saddles with them and have another folder structure for my saddle textures, too, and that's why the especially prepared .nif file for you has a different texture pathing.

Sorry and much apologies, my bad!

I'll fix that and make a new upload, just in case anybody else wants their horses bareback and doesn't want to mess with adjusting texture pathes. =)

All right. If I replace the vanilla saddles with one of your saddles, it works. Just not with the bridle-only mesh.

EDIT: I don't have the Hi-Res pack... but that path you gave, that the game gets its saddle textures from? I don't have that folder. Hmm. That's most likely the issue. Thank you for trying, I'll just use the saddle itself. And when everything was purple, the feathers and the deer skull were the only things that showed up. So yeah, I think my missing folder is definitely the cause.

OK, wait, I'll look into the .nif file for the paths and you can check them. BRB

    EDIT:

Alright, the paths for the hawk feathers and deer skull are vanilla, which should result in working textures anyway.

    They should be placed here:

    Data\textures\clutter\ingredients\hawkfeatherbeak01.dds
    Data\textures\clutter\bones\deerskull.dds

(Normally these are packed in your vanilla skyrim texture.bsa archive, so you don't see them in loose files folders. But if no loose files exist, the game gets the files from the vanilla .bsa archive OR from the .bsa archive which comes with the mod. So, check order for any files is: loose files? No. --> .bsa archive with same name as .esp? No. --> Take the textures from the vanilla .bsa archive.)

Have you installed the HiRes texture pack? My husband didn't get new saddle textures with it first, because they were not "overwritten". But the next day everything worked fine. So, concerning that, try to restart your computer or to check, whether this is the problem, uncheck the HiRes texture pack, just to see, if the textures are working without it. You can check them afterwards again. The textures should show up after a restart sooner or later.

As for the bridle... it get's its textures from the following path:

    Data\textures\actors\horse\bwlhorse\saddleLnF.dds

Make sure, the files are installed in the correct folder.

If everything is installed exactly this way it SHOULD work. If it doesn't, it seems to be a (probably temporarily) bug with the HiRes texture pack.

    EDIT2:

I just see as I'm checking the other version's loose files, that the file I've prepared for you points to a different texture pathing than in the other versions. It says:

    textures\TheWinterhawk\horse\saddle.dds

What you can do is, take the saddle.dds, rename it and put it to

    Data\textures\actors\horse\bwlhorse\

However, the hawkfeathers and deer skull should be textured properly even with the .nif file I've prepared for you. Texture paths are the same here.

Thanks. I figured out the loose files problem and felt really stupid, because I was obviously not paying attention. Great mod by the way.

EDIT: Hmmmmm. I've installed all the files, and no matter what I do it's all still purple. Any help?

Just to let you know what everything I've tried is, I've done the following:

Just added the new mesh. - Resulted in purple.

Added the new mesh and your textures - Resulted in purple.

Installed your entire mod, and changed vanilla horse mesh - Resulted in purple.

Installed your entire mod, and changed vanilla horse meshes and textures as well - Resulted in purple bridle.
