I love this mod but everytime I try to cook food I have to have a saltpile ingredient also whenever I have meat I want to cook I can't because the salt pile ingredient is always greyed out even though I have table salt I also have IMCN would this conflict?

Have been enjoying this mod a lot.

Installed Hearthfires yesterday. Just had a CTD when I ate some table salt.

I was in breezehome standing near my alchemy lab. Probably irrelevant but won't check that it CTDs any time I eat table salt.

Only other mod I can think of that might be influencing it is

    Better Useful Effective Food Overhaul

I love this concept as it adds to my immersion. When ever I think of salt piles, I think of the chemical definition of a salt [see salt (chemistry) on wikipedia if unfamiliar] and not just table salt (NaCl, sodium chloride). I look forward to giving this one a try.

I love this idea. I would have settled for 'more salt available in shops' but this is probably a better solution. Sadly it breaks with Real Wildlife (with IMCN compatibility), which adds a whole bunch of different meats and things you can do with meat (like dried meats).

Real Wildlife is a popular mod to go along with Hunger mods, and tends to get compatibility patches built in. Since it gives people a lot more hunting/food options in the wild. Sadly it means you tend to need a lot more salt then is lying around. This mod would be perfect for it, but not unless there's a compatibility patch for it. =(

@Boffin46 I've read the Imps More Complex Needs description but it seems like the mod doesn't introduce new recipes. Are you talking about the recipes in the "Compatible and Recommended Mods" part of the description? The "New Foods" section?

Or maybe the author didn't mention recipes in the description. I'll try out the mod and see for myself but that might take a while, so, if you could let me know if the mod does add recipes I'll update the mod ASAP to work with those.

And, thanks for trying out the mod!

Nice job, one of the little tweaks I have been looking out for or thinking of doing as I use Imps more comlpex needs which adds recipes so need more salt than can be found. But salt pile is used in valuable potion as well. This way I will not be tempted to use salt to make more money.

From you description you may be unaware of on funtion in the CK. if you right-click on saltpile then click on use info you will get a pop up with showing all the Form lists, containers recipes and level lists and all the loctions where sample of Salt pile can be found.

So if you could liase with imp about a patch I would be grateful.

@Thasic Don't worry the word "Salt Pile" has been completely renamed to Mysterious Salt, so, everything that depends on Salt Pile will work. For example, any alchemy recipe that required Salt Pile will now require Mysterious Salt. This will work for all recipes even 3rd party ones added via mods.

Prior to the advent of refrigeration and more advanced means of food preservation, salt was a highly prized commodity, so its rarity and value in the world does help reflect reality a bit better.

It's only so commonplace now because its value has gone down considerably due to advances in technology. It used to be a sort of currency in trading...
