Cavern Isles Sanctuary REQUIRES DAWNGUARD AND DRAGONBORN, as well as Skyrim.esm and Update.esm.
It has also been CLEANED with TES5Edit. I'm not sure, but I have heard that if you clean the same mod twice, all of your games will turn into Pong. This might be a rumor, though, so just do what TES5Edit tells you....
If you are updating, you will need to remove all of your stuff. This is a pretty major upgrade.
My intention was to take advantage of the newly available DLC and modding resources to create a naturalistic, comfortable, unique player home that supports role-play and a realistic player style. That is to say, you will find a lot of resources here, but not much in the way of cheats. If you like this mod, PLEASE thank the generous people without whose mod resources this version could not exist. You can find links to them on the main description page.
Known issues with this version: you may experience a short lag when first entering, and also when traveling the mine shaft from the dwemer area back to the main cavern. This is due to the large number of display and storage items, new textures, and long sight lines due to the cavern architecture. There is no help for it, really, except to remove storage/display and/or make the cavern smaller. If you find it bothersome, you might consider using a texture optimizer.
THANKS TO ERENAR'S VALIANT TESTING AND HELP, you also have the textures and meshes for all that custom stuff...Really this mod seems to me to be a tribute to all of the amazing generosity and creativity that is the Nexus. If you agree, I encourage you to stop by the pages of the resources/members I have mentioned and let them know you think they as awesome as I do!
This mod has no known conflicts. If you run across any problems or have anything else to say (politely, :-), of course), please do so. If I fail to respond, please feel free to PM me.
OK first off have to say is WOW that cave is amazing ,great feel and detail , second i seen something that could be added since it real close to Riverwood , maybe a tunnel short cut to it ? hahaha , Any ways keep up the great work and can`t wait to see what you do next
Hi, sorry for the long wait before replying. I had some life stuff come up and have not been able to game for the last couple months. There actually is a tunnel to riverside, but I had disabled it because I was having some issues. That was on my list to fix at Christmas break, but as I said things did not go as planned. I am getting back to work on this and fixing the tunnel is quite near the top of the list. Thanks for the feedbak!
You helped me resolve a little problem I was having with my water mod the other day so I checked this mod out. I love it. Awesome little touch with the pets running around! I took some screenshots and submitted them (I hope I did it right, lol) and I hope you like them. I endorse your mod as my display place for collectibles. I'll have to collect some but that's beside the point. Excellent!
HI, thanks for the picks and I am glad you liked it! Thanks also for the pics, I put up three of them.
They illustrate something that I have heard from others but haven't pinned down--that the area is rather dark. You can see that my pictures are lighter than what you have captured. I am wondering if you use any lighting or fx mods? I would really like to figure out what is causing the difference.
I absolutely LOVE this mod. Really nicely done. I'm having trouble with the underwater dwemer door. I can open it but there are big rocks there and a pull chain that does nothing.
Jeez this is late, sorry. Please, everyone, PM me if I don't respond promptly, at least in a day. Or sooner, if you can't wait. If I am around I will get right to you if I can. For some reason I am just not getting the automatic notifications when this thread is posted to.
Currently I have the underwater door disabled. However, I am about to make a few changes (about to = probably by New Years), so that is one thing that I will reinstate. I am very glad you like the mod!
I expected something a lot larger and was very pleasantly surprised at how it wasn't supersized. I'm not one for these enormous homes with a billion statics, light effects etc. So yeah, happy it's a more practical size.
Love all the little areas, very cute and pretty logical. I had an issue where I couldn't find the dwemer section but I obviously wasn't looking hard enough
2 things though. When walking to the dwemer section though the tunnel, there is a section which suddenly shows blue but then remounts its texture. Also the alc and ench tables are floating in mid air. I'll post the screenshots in a sec. I did notice a couple of other seam issues but nothing to worry about really. Hardly notice it
Thank you again for all of your help. I think the issues with the crafting table and the tunnel must have been related to the missing bsa files, at least I am now unable to reproduce what you describe. Please let me know if you are still seeing those things!
There probably are a few little seams. If you notice a gap, though, let me know. In my experience, if I fix a small seam I often create a new one somewhere else, so I think I would leave barely noticable seams until I have a reason to go back in and make a more substantial change. However, if you find a large one or one that is annoying, please let me know.
I appreciate your taking the time to help!
I take that back, I now see the tunnel issue. I think it is a problem with the portal, I will get right on it...
Hiya, was just wondering which file I should use, as I wont be using an enb but will be using lighting mods like CoT and RLO and ELFX. So should I use the main one or use the Alt one do you think?
Hi, I'm really sorry I didn't get back to you. For some reason my notifications seem to reset without notice. :-( If you decide to try the latest version, let me know if you run into any issues with your lighting mods. (or have any other comments..)
Sorry, somehow my notifications got turned off, I just saw this. No, you only need my file. DarkFrost5 gave me his work and I built on it, so this is all complete. Let me know what you think if you try it, I am planning on making a few changes in a bit.
are these ever gorgeous... l'm going to have to use willpower not to take advantage of the vendors (l'm playing an extreme tough economy game atm) but really looking forward to checking this out. l've always wanted to live in a cave. hehe
I am sorry, I just got the site noification about your post TODAY. :-( I am ok with anyone doing anything they want to their personal version, as long as they don't post anything without my permission.
TO add a load do, you will be taking out the new room from your cell, and making a new cell to put that in...that is why you can change the lighting in that way...it will be a new cell, and the lighting of each can be unique.
Actually, I've been playing around with the lighting myself the last couple days. I can't quite get it the way I'd like. If you want, I can have another go at getting a version like Darkfrost's original.--it would mean a lighter new room, but it might still look better with your ENB. You can PM me (or post here, either way...)
Yea I finally DLed the CK lol, so I might just monkey around with it myself and see what I come up with, but if you do make another one that is not quiet as bright as the ALT one, I would be willing to give it a go "> .
Edit: Hmm maybe if I add a load door in between the rooms (as I dont mind having one if it helps with the lighting problem) , just for my own, I could change the lighting back to the other one??

Other than that, great job
