  • Dragonborn DLC patch is now full release

    I released an earlier version of a module for Dragonborn in order to restore functionality added to those shouts by DB that my mod overrode. Since I was still seeing if anything else needed a buff, I labeled it a "preliminary beta". Since then, I've determined that the only other thing that needed to be done besides the Dragon Aspect buff was to give the Fire Wyrms a bit of a buff too. Now, they will do additional melee damage, and are also wreathed in a flame cloak much like the Flame Atronach....

  • Lotsa stuff, most notably Dragonborn DLC prelim Beta

    I have discovered that a preliminary beta for Dragonborn DLC would have to happen sooner rather than later, as Dragonborn DLC alters Unrelenting Force and Frost Breath (a change also to Fire Breath that DB does is largely irrelevant). They will now inflict more damage/disintegration (for Force) and have a chance to obviate the need for Ice Form (for Frost). The alterations to Dragon Aspect mentioned in a previous article and discussed in the comments thread have also been implemented. Don't mind any Identical-To-Master records, those are placeholders for my modding activities that I haven't gotten to yet (or do mind them and clean them yourself). Like I said, I'm still testing, and this module is mainly out to provide conflict resolutions with the Dragonborn DLC module.

  • Dragonborn DLC plans and Core Module stuff

    A preliminary look at the four shouts in Dragonborn reveal that I'll be needing to do some work there too. For the Dragon Aspect, I intend to make the armor effects more substantial. I also intend to make the damage boost affect *all* kill skills, not just power attacks for melee weapons (more damage or maybe faster draw for bows, more intense Destruction damage). The final 20% shout cooldown bonus will be unchanged, as it will remain only 90% with all aspects of this mod (and again, if you want to break it, do it on your own :P ). Battle Fury seems lackluster from what I've read, so I may make it also add a Courage-like effect (boost confidence, boost health) to the target. Bend Will is a bit too quest-related and also is plenty overpowered as-is (enthrall *DRAGONS*). I'...

  • Who you gonna call? WARD BUSTERS!!!!

    After starting on a necromancer dungeun, I finally got fed up with this mighty and divinely gifted power of Dovahthu'um being blunted by a piddly little magic ward. I set off to find out just how the wards worked. Unrelenting Force, Fire Breath, Dismay, Marked For Death... all were essentially impotent against the power of wards. Curiously... Frost Breath wasn't. I set off to find out how.

    My determination was that magnitudes affected if wards could tank a hit or not. Since Frost Breath also had Slow in its effects, it basically had significantly more total magnitude than Fire Breath, et al.

    My solution was to make a temporary Drain Speechcraft 1000 for 5 seconds with conditionals that the target has a Ward spell equipped in either hand and is casting...

  • v1.1.2: Message spam fix and Elemental Dragon Knockback

    Just put out another update, this time fixing the message spam you may have noticed with shouts empowered with ward-busting.

    I also implemented a means to knock dragons about with the elemental breath shouts. Use all three Words on a dragon that favors the opposite element (such as Frost Breath on a Fire-breather dragon), and you'll hit them up with a stagger.

    I am awaiting the Dragonborn DLC to see what this "Dragon Aspect" is all about. I am predicting I may have to put stoppers on some of the Dragonborn Ascendant effects so Dragon Aspect isn't even more OP'd than it sounds like it'd be.

    I am also predicting I won't have the opportunity to for another month. Don't hold your breath on it coming out on December 4th for us PC...

  • V 1.1.1: Oops

    Oopsie... When displacing all the spell effects so the Ward Busters are at the top of the spell effect list, some values got mixed up, and Fire Breath tiers 2 and 3 got a massive damage boost at level 40-50 range, doing the damage they should have dealt in an instant instead as per-second... over 15 seconds. I found that out when I started one-shotting Frost Dracs with Fire Breath. Derp. Also, Frost Breath's Deep Freeze destruction perk effects have been lengthened to 1/2/3 seconds depending on how many words you use....

  • New function for Soul Tear in the DG addon

    The three words for Soul Tear each denote a graduated tier of function for the shount: "Rii", or Essence... that's probably the Soul Trap part. "Vaaz", tear... that's the actual kill. "Zol", zombie... that should be self-evident.

    I've rejigged the shout to reflect that. Tier 1 will cast a soul trap effect for 30 seconds. Tier 2 will deal the 300 damage like Tier 3 and soul trap as long as tier 1. Tier 3 now has soul trap of 30 seconds instead of 2. Since the first two tiers now actually do something, they now have a base cooldown of 30 and 60 seconds....

  • Dawnguard addon available

    I just uploaded a Dawnguard module for your enjoyment. Not much to it right now, just a cooldown sensibilization for Drain Vitality (now 30/45/60 base). Also, I did a bugfix for the dragon-specific Drain Vitality shouts. After getting Word #2 for Marked for Death, I ended up with one in my repertoire. Delving in to the CK, I find out that *all* of them use the Player-specific Words of Power for Marked for Death. I copied the Player WoPs for Drain Vitality for the dragon shouts, so they are now completely separate again....
