SPELLSINGER 1.1 readme

Play as an itinerant minstrel, with the Bards' College as base, and compose magic songs.

You'll find a Spellsong scriptorium upstairs in the east classroom; there you can craft spell tomes for song-based magic. As you gain Speech skill more powerful songs will become available -- call down storm and lightning, or a meteor strike!

You will also have a bed and safe storage downstairs, at the entrance to the students' wing.

Version 1.1
Corrects an error with the Spellsong journal model. (If you didn't find the tomes included in the Bard quests, you may be able to find them now in the area where the quest object was.)
Adds expert and master level spellsongs.
(Note: The master level Spellsong "Chant of Sovngarde" makes your drawn weapons and those of your allies strike more quickly. Because you must have your weapons drawn and ready, occupying at least one hand, I couldn't make it a normal spell; you'll find it in the menu as a Voice Power.)

REQUIREMENTS:
Dragonborn, for the more devastating songs, which are based on shouts.
Pevey's "Become a Bard" mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65636
(The bed, storage, and new spells will still be available without "Become a Bard," but I designed Spellsinger as a supplement to it.)

INSTALLATION:
Copy the Spellsinger.esp and Spellsinger.bsa files into your Data folder, and activate the mod.
UNINSTALLATION:
Save your game, pick up anything you've stored at the College, then deactivate the mod and delete the files.
NOTE:
If you plan to convert Spellsinger to SSE, you won't need the .bsa file. The Optional Casting Sounds plug-in should have everything you need to build an SSE version.

FINDING THE SPELLS:
Most of the spellsong tomes can be crafted at the scriptorium in the east classroom, although many of them are only available at a high Speech level. Some can be found in the Bards' College, and watch for others as you complete the game's Bard quests.
Speech skill governs the availability of Spellsong Tome recipes. Illusion governs the casting cost of most spellsongs.

OTHER MODS:

Pevey's "Become a Bard" mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65636

Arthmoor Alternate Start - Live Another Life

(With "Alternate Start" you can bypass the normal game opening and begin elsewhere, then pick up the main quest later. You could start at the Solitude docks or the Winking Skeever inn.)
