    Trying to figure out what this texture is called. I swear I've been through all of them and don't see it. Anybody know?

      'called' .. forgive my dense early morning mind but not sure what looking for here. it is possible that i put it in but didn't use it yet. if i did will try to look it up in my files and let you know. I know i got the original from a wall hanging that i bought for the house and thought could use it's looks in the game.

      should be data\textures\1mytexts\adds\wallart1 or wallart1a

      not 100% sure posted these .. so if not posted and you want let me know and will put it up for u.

      You used this texture on the partition meshes you did for me, but as far as I am aware it is not used on any of the meshes in the main suite.

    Looks great now, my eyes can not tell the difference between with or without -n texture, either in the ck or ingame. So no need for any more changes, I will stick with the "without". As it is now 2.30 am I shall retire to bed content.

    There is something I am missing - at least one of my underground temples requires a maze and I have been scratching my head as to what to make that with. I could use some simple wall units in the alternative textures if you feel the urge.

    I was thinking about the RifRmSmPartitionBase02 which is high enough, but frankly it would look crap as is. Not crucial, but I am trying to stay reasonably true to my original dungeon designs. Particularly as I appeared to have been considerably more imaginative 35 years ago when I did them, that particular talent appears to have disappeared along with the brain cells!

      I'll take a look at it for yah ... just the one wall or do you want other items?? also how do you want it to look overall. when done i'll post here for your review and comments. try to get a 1st draft done this weekend for you if things don't interfer to much.

      Thanks muchly for this. Yes one wall will do it, which I can just repeat using the WR tall beam to go round corners etc. The existing "flooronly" meshes are good, although now I come to think about it I am not sure if there is a equivalent flat 'roof' in the Nor Dungeon set? This might be an other item.

      The overall look can be quite simple as long as the wall fits in with the general colour scheme. I intend the mazes to be unlit except by the torch or lantern the player is carrying so he/she won't be aware of decorative details.

      There really is no hurry at the moment (don't let this interfere with the things that might interfere! ), because I am currently up to my eyeballs in NPCs and encounters, to try and get the world ready for a version 2 release which will be playable. But after that release my next job will be an abandoned temple complex with a maze which is to be part of a side quest.

      Ok posted 7 different walls for u to look at. Some based on pattern used in the alt set some using diff text patterns. If want to go with fancy will clean it up so get ride of the small white gaps in pattern. If want something (i.e. metal4a text pattern) else just let me know and will put together sample .. can do bricks/stone etc.

      Excellent, I like the first skull wall, the simple wall, fancy wall and lastwall. The other three are too moorish for the Shumerians, good for a Vampire theme though. If you could do I stonework version that would be good also.

      OK will do the stonework one and then put them all together for you and post. Probably be sunday as have a dinner party am hosting (I am the chef and the wine merchant for same) this sat.

      added 3 diff looks .. stone/stone brick and a green brick wall. let me know if need a diff look then these. If happy can package andy and all for you. Oh if want in a specific file location for the meshes or textures also can do that for u when package.

      They all look good and I shall be using some immediately. Just package where you would normally under 1mystuff, maybe the meshes in a folder called <partitions> or some such.

      Oh yes I forgot about the ceiling, I was thinking along the lines of RifRmSmBaseCeiling01 in the stoney texture. I am thinking now I can use these for priests quarters in the temples as well as mazes.

      Great, all except the simple ceiling are fine. The off centre 'simple' design works for a wall but looks slightly odd on a ceiling, all the other designs work well. I am now can't wait to get my hands on them!

      Packaged them all up so if decide to use the others will be there for you (file titled Special Request .. Arch1a). Put the meshes in a folder called 'partitions' as wanted. if any problems let me know .. did not optimize some of the textures so if want done and do not have the s/w to do so let me know and will do same for you.

      also just wondering if wanted floors to go with the wall and ceilings??? the one in the game is good put if need a diff look let me know.

      Got them and using them now. Will actually build something before considering any further requests on your time! I will post a link to some in game screenshots when I am done.

      I get a no diffuse map error is it something to do with that?

      yah probably is the diffuse which I tend not to change .. guess i'll have to go in and remove it which should resolve what seeing. didn't think would be an issue as left the diffuse in the overall nordic dungeon set and didn't run into this issue, will get to it shortly. might have to just put a simple pattern in or leave blank.

      ok posted 1 wall with the diffuse texture removed (the skulls) ... ck it out and see if still have the weird reaction in images posted. I ck'd in nifscope and the creation kit and even with the diffuse still in the mesh am not getting what showed in images. Where the images taken from in the game itself?? Did look at the diffuse texts in gimp and they do have a pattern for both the wall and the ceilings that could cause issue seeing .. can you ck the ceiling also and see if ok for you or if it will need new diffuse also.

      Let me know what get .. can replace the diffuse pattern with another -n if that was issue or just leave it out..

      The ceilings are the same and there is the same look ingame. Added other pics to page so you can see, both in game and in ck.

      The new skull wall is fine whether lit or unlit, so that solved the problem.

      OK will delete the -n texture from all and re post for you probably tomorrow, if want a diffuse can use the one from the nordic dungeon wall to give highlights as it does not have a real pattern in it.

      OK .. uploading the new set of meshes/textures. Also a small set of 2 meshes that have a -n texture so can compare with set without. The 2 are the stone wall and ceiling, so take a look and see if any diff and if want the textures in for the rest will do.

    Small point - The medium door is looking for metalpattern2.dds - this does not exist in the textures provided.

      will ck for that .. probably forgot to include same is all will add as fix for those that need it. thanx for the report on same.

      mod looks like fun will have to d/l it and gave a run and thanx for using my resources, if need changes don't hesitate to ask (as told someone else do the texturing thing for fun and relaxation more than anything). If need critters have bunch of those did for same reason.

      I changed it to use another metalpattern and it looks OK, but I will download the right one now.

      Wait for up coming Version 2 of my mod that's the one with the dungeons added.

      And yes I am interested in new critters

      Found two more gremlins:

      ruins_altar01a.nif point to celtictileset.dds in the '1mytexts\adds' directory its in the '1mytexts' directory

      HHFurniturebench01a.nif point to stonebigknot.dds in the '1mytexts\adds' directory its in the '1mytexts' directory

      I changed them in the nif file because I wasn't sure whether they are used by anything else; if they aren't then obviously could just move the textures to the right directory.

Also may want to ck vicn's items that he did also .. some very interesting creatures. I did some retexts of them but never got around to posting them.

      they are nice ones wish he'd kept at it but heh we all get side tracked by other games eventually. posting the other 2 textures for you no idea why didn't include them at the start oh well organization was never my strong suite.

    Hey, jsnider193, great work you did here.
    I tweaked a bit and use these meshes/textures as a replacer, which gives the original¹ Nord ruins a much better look'n'feel . And used side-by-side with Tropical Skyrim –– a dream, I say! :-)

    Thanks for answering questions, here is another one:

    Did you plan to make some kind of "devourer"-mod? And what is it all about?

    Also, the smelter doesn`t display in the CK, but gives some errors in NifSkope. It seems like there is a lot of stuff that has meshes and textures in the data folders but isn`t available in the CK. Like the NorSarcophagusVert02A and 03A. Are these things not assigned to the masterfile or why aren`t they appering in the CK?
    And why are BoneHumanLegL, RuinsFloorCandleLampMidon02 and RuinsPot02Static included in the .esm as pure vanilla copies? (TESV edit reveals it). Is it safe to delete these three things from the esm?

      Yes was doing a story line that started before the dragon lords showed. many of the things were intended to go in that and wanted the different look as it in effect proceeded the empire also. In my mod 'critters runnin wild' have some notes and remains that can be found that hint to what was planning and some of the undead that make up what is left of the Devourer's followers are there to spice up the hunting. The devourer was able to eat not only dragon essence but that of all living things and after the dragons and their priests killed his family he sorta woke up to his potential and devourered not only the dragon his family was sacrifieced to but every one else that participated and watched. After that retreated to the hills and then comes back (with his seven sons and seven daughters .. and no momma, strange hey) and begins to conquer and destroy dragons and all their followers. Much more about his fall and all but apparently he and his are just waiting to return and exact the final revenge.

      never finished as ran into the dang scripting that implemented here (had just become familiar with FNVs and now this) and the early bugs with dungeons just got me down.

      Smelter .. dang forgot to post the fix for that ... if want can put up for yah if have a use for it.

      If look at them in TesVedit there should be override textures applied to the specific records as used in the mod. If not then should be able to get ride of. Overriding is the dirty way to do a change without building a new mesh. It's the brute force method of getting something to look different .. unfortunately sometimes it doesn't take and you get the red ? of death.

      Curious are u doing something with this?? If yes, then if want some changes fixes just say so and will make and post for you. Stopped working on this as didn't seem to be any interest in it.

      I am very interested in this!
      Please put ALL of the other amazing stuff which isn't in the .esm but in the folders in the esm!
      I don't have any plans for smelters and other stuff with nifskope errors at the moment, but other people would probably like to use them.

      Please make the platformtexture smooth. Ugly unsmooth lines appear between the tiles when put next to each other. Also, the platformraisedfloor has some unsmooth parts.

      Maybe include two versions of the smroomsraisedfloor: one with lava(currently in place) and one without. Currently it's possible to work around the lava by putting the raisedfloor a little deeper into the floor. But it would be nice to also have the alternative. Let the lava version in the retextures, maybe someone has a lava-themed mod idea.

      If you want more people to be interested in these dungeon tiles, try this:
      -Wrap every mesh with its texture into the esm
      -Fix all the tiles with missing textures and (animation) errors
      -Make sure everything is smooth
      -Restart doing the Devourer-mod and make it awesome! Let it come with a minumum of 2 dungeons: A retextured one and one with vanilla textures. This will make it absolutely clear, that the vanilla textures aren't gone.
      Combine the retextured dungeon with a cave section. Normal nordic dungeons can be easily combined with cave tiles. If you show people that they can clutter it as nicely as vanilla nordic ruins, the'll see more opportunities for their own dungeon ideas. Personally I really liked the picture of the ruinsSconce from february 18, 2012, because it shows, that the new floortexture interacts nicely with dirtmounds, the new rubberpiles and with fungi. Present the possibilites of the retextures in the devourermod!
      -don't include the dungeon into the esm (sorry, captain obvious wrote this)
      -as this retexture is a pretty unique mod, the Devourermod will get more attention, than it would have gotten with vanilla textures.
      -Encourage people on the Devourermodpage itself to use the esm as modding resource and link to this modpage.
      -List every mod using the modders resource on this modpage. (a pretty egoistic request, I just wanna see what other people are doing with this.)


      You have done amazing stuff, now fix it, wrap it up and present it to people with some gameplay!

      Appreciate the input and will get back to it shortly. Designing a wine and cheese class for a friend in Belgium right now so gotta finish that and make the purchases for him, so when gets over here (the states) has everything needs and can hold his party/class. Once out of the way will start back on this and try to release a few things every week. Will have to refresh my memory though on where left of (that is always the hardest part of restarting a mod again once moved on). Thanks agin for your interest.

      I have to thank you for not just saying "f*#@ this, it's nearly two years old and no one cares a bout it anyways."!
      Looking forward to the changes and have fun designing the wine and cheese class. (What is a wine and cheese class? Why is it designed?)

      And why do you as texture modder not have a custom fancy avatar?

      AH a class is structured around a food in this case cheese and then how to enhance the taste by a selected wine that will increase the taste aspect of the food. So doing 17 diff cheeses from around the world with 17 diff wines that will compliment the flavors that the cheese has (e.g. say select Manchego and want to enhance it's earthiness then would go with say a Rioja or some other aspect then maybe a Merlot) .. can spend hours talking about this, lets just say it is one of my hobbies in retirement.

      No avatar = laziness and never felt was important.

      Sounds interesting. It's surprising you're retired and retexturing skyrim. Have you been working as texture designer or artist or something like that? (This is getting pretty personal, no need to exhibit yourself)

      In old life worked with 3D modelling and animation before got into management and how to make a dollar fifty on a fifty cent investment. So yes spent time on this with the programs in the 70s/80s on, then became a manager responsible for the bottom line and profit. Now that retired I am getting back into what was fun versus what had to do to keeep the folks in biz and make a profit.

    Why are there so many textures in the 1mytexts folder, that aren`t in the dungeon suite? Like the elephant and metal patterns.

      Two reasons:
      1. was planning on using them for some add on items to the set but didn't finish them .. my bad, but since there you can use them for anything want to have a differnet look for. Also in some cases changed the texture at a later date but left the original in just in case wanted to go back to it.
      2. Some of the textures are applied as an alternate to an existing item in the game vice creating a new mesh with the textures assigned.

    Wow! This is amazing! I love it! A consistent egyptian/sandy/solsttheim/lava/hot-like theme, nicely bright and detailed!
    Thank you so much for making and publishing this! Thanks for making it easier for modders by allowing the distribution of your .esm with the modder`s mod. Thanks for being so humble that you don`t make it a necessity for modders to mention the source of this amazingness! Well, if I ever published a dungeon with that, you can be sure to be credited!
    Tip: Please Clarify in the description that your textures don`t replace the vanilla ones, meaning that not all the beloved vanilla dungeons will be changed.

    The lava parts of the smroomsraisedfloor01 and 02 shouldn´t be lava, maybe dirt or something else because it doesn`t make a lot of sense having lava all over the floor, or does it?

    The missing textures appear as blue surface.

    Request (in case you`re still interested in retexturing skyrim):
    Could you please add retextures for CaveG(reen)DirtMound01 and MineC(ave)DirtMound01? So that they look like sand mounds, the Cavedirtmound like a sandpile with a few sandy rocks in it.
    Another request: Please make an HD version.

      Appreciate your input .. will look at the ones you id'd as missing and such and see about fixing. Still mess around with the items every now and then so when get the urge on this. Did the overall thing here for a mod made for myself to play with but never got around to posting it. So is entirely possible fixed items for my use but since very few want this never got around to posting the fixes.

      Good point on the does not replace .. thanx for that input.

      Ok looked at the esm and the ones having trouble with are all ones I used the alt texture override to do ... in my game works fine and the base textures look like they are in the mod so may have to create new meshes to overcome. Had this problem before in FNV so looks like still an issure in Skyrim. A fix will thus be a little harder and take a little more time.

      Oh the lava was done for another mod I was working and needed that look for it. Have an alternative that did that is probably closer to what you want. Will post a image of that for yah and if want will post here as an option.
