Reading lore I saw mentions that Daedra are capable of long lasting relationship but this must be some exceptional mortal who manage to amuse them for a long time, yet I've never read that one of the Princes truly loved someone. So I suspect the concept of true love is quite foreign to them, because Daedra view mortals either as pawns or toys, so making fun with toy is alright, but loving this toy, stepping onto own interest for the benefit of a mere plaything... that is highly unusual and I suspect unthinkable for any Daedra. They must be always in control and let some mortal think that because of love he or she can gain some control is also unacceptable. The question is whether Sam different from his kin or not? So far he appeared as the most "human" like Daedra and Dannee is very stubborn in her desire to make him see things from her point of view.
I just wonder if Dannee did give herself completely to Sam and vice versa that they would lose interest with each other as they seem in a way to enjoy the challenge of making the other sort of submit their feelings like a competition who will give in first to their emotions. Dannee we can all relate to she maybe Dragonborn but she is Human in mind, we can never really tell Sams true mind... is it all a big challenge to him or does he really feel that way ?

Well, I can say that Dannee knowing Daedra lore very well is just afraid to acknowledge her feelings for Sam in fear of rejection or worse his possible state of boredom with her. Dannee knows how fleeting is Daedric passion, once Daedric Prince gets everything he or she wants from mortal they quickly lose all interest and toss that unlucky mortal aside to forget about him or her and find themselves a new shiny plaything to play in their games or schemes. and Sam is... well he is odd even for a Dedra, so to say clear what his real feelings are is hard.

I always assumed that because Sam is who he is that this was why he fears "commitment" to Dannee.
And while true, it is more basic, more "human" then I had suspected.
He is afraid opening his heart will make him vulnerable.

Their argument/discussion made pretty good sense actually. Sam is use to being the powerful one, in control, and therefore had a more demanding tone with Dannee. Dannee, of course, wasn't happy about that and just needed some love and support which I think Sam should have provided ... but in his defense a lot of that comes from his own fears and uncertainties towards his feelings to Dannee I suspect.
I think they are both too stubborn and cautions though :-) A great story and lots of intriguing insight into a great couple!
Oh, you are so right about Sam, calling him "imperious" is perfectly fitting and that words suits not only him but other Daedric Princes as well, I think. Daedra usually described as quite selfish and arrogant, powerful beings with incredible desire of control and domination, that not to mention they will hardly ever view any mortal as equal, they prefer to be above and given their abilities, age and experience, as well as inhuman nature, it can be understandable... And given Sam's sphere, you are also right about him being confused about his own feelings.
And that misunderstanding of course stands between Sam and Dannee, especially in their argument. Luckily for Dannee Sam desire to be controlling is not so obvious but it is here and it showed itself, while as you rightly nailed it, Dannee wanted a love and support. I believe they will sort it out later, after all Sam is one of the most free thinking and "nicer" Daedra, who understands humans so very well.
