One of the things I find that really adds to the immersion of playing a game is writing about the characters. This is especially true in open world games like Skyrim and Fallout, the two games I play, mod, and write about most.
SKYRIM:
I wrote about my main character, Grimulfr Fenrirson, for six years. All of his earlier stories I converted to PDF files and are hosted on my miscellaneous mod page. Currently I play Wulver Blackfur in Skyrim. He hangs out with his buddy Thrynn, a rogue from the Thieves Guild, and his animal companion, a wolf named Wolf.

My main character in Fallout is Fenn Finn-Gall, an avatar of Fenrir, and his partner Mac (Robert MacCready). They are now retired and I mainly play Lobo, an Elite Courser gone rogue.
