This mod doesn't work! moving the mouse does nothing! I still can only control it with the keyboard

Doesn't work for me either. I don't get it. I tried everything to make it work.

Hello. For those struggling with over/under correction issues when turning, I invite you to try adding another small mod in conjunction with this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48212/

Basically it eliminates the 'ramping up' of the turn speed, which is what causes turning to feel unresponsive.

I hope that it helps! In my own game it has basically made the horse controls exactly what they should always have been, and I'm thrilled with the result. :)

For some reason I cannot get the hold "R" part to work. The rest works great but I cannot do the part where I hold "R" and stop the mouse movement to look around without turning part. I do like to look around while riding but would like to still have mouse turning.

    Brilliant, a must have.
Will keep this and the other mod for moving horse with keyboard in my oblivion essential mods list!

    Endorsed, 5*

Not sure why this is happening. Each time I mount my horse there is a loud noise that happens like some sort of magic spell has been cast. any thoughts on this?

It's the script effect noise. DL a Script Effect Silencer, and make sure it loads low in the order.

I avoided using horses or any mounts at all because of Oblivion's HORRID controls. I kept wondering "why is horse movement so different from when my character runs and walks?" Now I have a reason to buy horses and download horsie mods! Dl'ed and will endorse when I check it out.

To reduce lag, increase mouse sensitivity to maximum setting. The winding roads don't justify the speed of the horse. If the roads were more stretched out there would be no problem. Perhaps reducing the speed of the horse to a more manageable level as a part of this mod.
