Actually being a huge lotr fan, I found several reasons why the eagles couldnt have dropped the ring in like: the Nazgul, they could smell the mordor air and would have been like "hell no! im not going in there", in fact the only reason they showed up at the end was because it fell to them to save everyone elses ass; also mordor has archers that would have shot them down on sight unless distracted by 10000 men soldiers, plus flying into there would be dangerous as hell with all the orc battlements and camps plus they could only really enter over the black gate or over minas morgul, plus once they did drop it in it would hit that stone walkway and probably stay there for ever until an orc found it and gave it to sauron or a nazgul. In fact i kinda liked gimli, i think it was his, suggestion to drop it in the ocean but with that well you know a fish could swollow it and orcs could catch and kill the fish and bam you have a ring of power. There does that tell you why the couldnt drop it in
Hey, just a suggestion, because lotr is so awesome, you should have a dunedain guild, only joinable if you are bosmer, high elf or ranger races. The guild house could be like elronds house and you could add some lore about them.
i love the idea but i agree with kesh with balance of the game. I wouldnt touch on stuff like that unless u plan on making this mod big. But rangers is kinda of a small concept.
Bad idea alert. Hate to rain on your parade here, adding ranger stuff to TES is a good idea! But making it one mod with something that screws around with the balance of the game is a big no no.
Might want to not put in overall "balance and realism changes" to a mod that adds one thing like Rangers. That kind of discourages people from downloading it, if they don't want to make those overall game changes, but only wanted the rangers.
Dirox, read the books, and you will find that LOTR rangers DO form companies with other rangers, elves, and northfolk. One of them took part in the battle of Pelennor Fields at Minas Tirith, and at Morannon(black gate).
At any rate, yea! LOTR rocks, both movies and books.
Not to besmirch your idea or anything, but to me rangers are more of a free-lance type. If you do make a guild it should be more of a nature type exlusive guild. It could consist of like, a druid, wild animals, maybe another ranger. All im sayin is don't kill it by having 15 rangers go "hey, wana join us we're the rangers guild" etc ">. I'm just saying is all. You like lotr so your cool in my book!
People who think lotr sucks just does not have good taste (My Opinion). People seem to make fun of it even though it's, unique, epic... Yes they could have flew the ring in with the eagles and droped it in, but then where what would happen to the story?
Besides, why didn't Neo take the blue pill? Why didn't Luke just join the dark side? Why didn't Superman use his powers to just take and do anything he wanted?
Because, thats not the way it works, maybe thats how some stories go but you'll never hear about them, not in a movie anyways.

The Valar are the gods of the LotR world. If you just got to have a name from the Lord of the Rings maybe you should call them dunedain or something like that instead.
