I just wanna say this is amazing and worked perfect for me. 3rd/1st person is R3 my sheathing is set to B which is fine and my sprinting on left stick works spells are X attack is Rb block is Lb activate is A as it should be and i think the stream button is take all. it works great tbh i will be endorsing this. sorry for anyone else that cant get it to work. Bethesda could update this game but they don't care and we don't want broken mods. alternative-play Skyrim it has full controller support and some of best mods you will ever see. makes playing oblivion more enjoyable if you get this guide to work. download joytokey and set it up don't run it(no reason to yet), go to oblivion in your steam folder look for the config for the game open it, scroll down until you find this line of code and change as stated in mod description, click file, click save, close file(you can re open the file to make sure the changes stuck)now download this mod manually and extract to joytokey folder(if joytokey folder is not already put into the oblivion folder, do so now). open joytokey click configure, then configure controller, then properties. it will open a menu for buttons press yours make sure your controller does something to any of the test buttons, now leave all those windows up and run your game. works every time. If you close the windows this wont work. I leave you with a quote "Yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy sword and thy shield they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over with blood." (changed slightly)
This isn't working at all for me. Followed the instructions and you profile does show up in joytokey but controller doesn't show up in menu or any button work when I press them. Would you have any idea why? I play like 30 games on my pc and this is the first I can't get a controller to work for. A reply would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

I've tried both ways - and my Xbox controller is cut off - does not work.

Check out this Link, he explains the mapping of Joytokey. I haven't quite gotten it to work for the game but my understanding of the mapping is that you need to extend your threshold. Think of it as the controller drift and extending the input range outside of your controllers drift zone. Of course some controllers have lived better lives than others.
It seems like my buttons are double mapped as well. triggers pan left and right, select button opens menu and casts spell. it's like two controller profiles are active at once :( Has anyone figured this out?
Oblivion was a waste of my money. These controls (before joytokey) are disgusting and literally unplayable, and even modders cant seem to fix bethesda's dumbassery.
I put JoyToKey in the Oblivion directory like you said. Then placed the Profile in the JoyToKey folder. Fire up JoyToKey and it doesn't detect your mod. Time wasted.

Edit: the settings in the game got changed, fixed it. This works pretty good
