I have been upgrading this mod to ver 1.01:

    - corrected a cupboard that by mistake was set to respawn. It is now nonrespawning.
    - changed a bench at the backside.

    COBL-addon:

    - resized the alchemy sorter to make it easier accessible.

I have been upgrading this mod to ver 1.02:

      - corrected an issue with the cooking script that caused you to get crab soup indefinitely once you had made a potion of it.

For those that already have ver 1.01, there is a patch esp available, as the bsa is exactly the same as before.

This one's not working with Better Cities Full Merged (cities not open.) The house is there, but rocks, a tree, and land are embedded in parts of the outside walls, and npc's are getting stuck all around it because their pathgridding doesn't recognize it. I deleted some conflicting stuff using the console, enough to actually use the door and get in the house, but that doesn't prevent the npcs from perpetually walking into the walls outside. Would be better if this was moved completely away from Cheydinhal, which is a tough city to add stuff in & around with all the mods that affect it & conflict.

Doesn't B.C. already add a little house on that island?
Could you try and make it work well with B.C. and upload a patch?

Check in your game's Data folder and make certain you have the files EM_Cheydinhalhouse1.esp and EM_Cheydinhalhouse1.bsa ... you are probably missing the BSA file.

I have to say, I LOVE this house! I just got Oblivion for the first time last fall and I only recently began using the mods (I usually play Skyrim highly modded) and just came across this one. I just want to stay home and spin and weave all day! I love all of the crafting options this house has! Endorsed! Thank you!

I have said in other posts that Emma's houses are essential to my game, and all my characters. Recently Aleswell has become 'home' for most of them, so much so i don't even bother with any of the vanilla houses anymore.

I started a new character, a sort of druid (a little wood elf, with green make-up from OCO) and this lil house was just the ideal place for her to set some roots. As i was very busy with the main quest line, i didn't linger at the house all that much. After that, i began exploring the house and all its corners and details. One of my favourite things to do in Emma's houses is to bake and cook. This is when i discovered a problem. Anytime i tried to cook anything, even with the ingredients in my inventory, whenever i would activate the cooking pot, i always get crab soup. Activating either to start cooking or take some out of the pot: crab soup. Every time. Anyone has this problem?

I have this problems too. My first meal in this house was crab soup and now I don't even have to add ingredients. I just get more crab soup every time I click on the pot (could get rich quick that way if I wanted)!

This was my favorite house until I found "Fisherman's Cottage". It's also very convenient for Vilja's quest line.

      Thanks.

My apologies for not reading this sooner, I thought there were no new posts!
Anyway, I found the problem - I have forgotten one line in the cooking script for crab soup, which cause this to happen. I will upload a patch immediately, and a new version.

lol Emma on the end of description it says Leyawiin House

I like your crafting features. Not so much creating new gear that's weak compared to Daedric (and that's correct, Daedric isn't meant to be crafted easily), but much more the food.

I still have most of your houses to play and still have to play more of the bakery features. I think it would be even better if it was linked to alchemy, in a way that baking would add alchemy xp and some food would require a certain lvl to be allowed.

I don't know how well food is balanced yet, I think the best would be the food be a bit stronger than vanilla pots and require more ingredients. I love Oblivion alchemy, but I can't play it as much as I wanted because I get full of pots and even more full of ingredients and I don't spend them all. Stronger and more expensive food would make it more useful and spendable.

I'm still thinking which of your houses will be my main. I must still play them properly, I hope to do it after I finish mages and thieves guilds quests, there's so many stuff to do in Oblivion x.x

    This house looks really cute!
...and I love the features it has!

Emma, I have to say that I'm a big fan of your player homes. I really love that they're always so rich in detail and that one can use lots of awesome features, even without COBL installed.
Long long time ago I downloaded *Waterlilly Cottage* and *Lakeside Home* and I still use them with great joy.
*Maple Cottage* and *Fishermans Cottage* are still on a "importatant house-mods I have to test" list, and I look forward to discover this nice new house, one day.
(If I should have enough time to play - and if I should ever return from Nehrim... )

      Thank you

I can understand that you are busy in Nehrim!

You know, if you haven't tried my Aleswell Cottage and (newly released) Leyawiin house, I think you should put these on your list, too, as well as Red Rose Manor. These are the houses that have the very most crafting features, so I think you would like them

Thank you very much for these recommendations!
Of course I know about Aleswell Cottage and Leyawiin House (and now I also added them to my list) - but like I already said, there's no guarantee when (or if) I will have the time to visit them all.
(...but as the saying goes: Never say never )

As for Fisherman's cottage, I should add now that if you wait for just a few more weeks, there will be a totally new, and very much improved, version online. On the other hand, if you want to try out Fisherman's cottage in its current state, no problems, as the upgrade will be as easy as replacing the esp and the bsa.

Hi, Emma! Can I ask you to do me a small mod? I want to have in the game a little pencil (with eraser) or piece of chalk to make "X" marks on the walls of the corridors in the caves and on the doors - so I would know where I was and where I was not. I looked through the entire site, but nothing like this is not found. Please, help me...

you could get the Drop Lit Torches mod, and just drop a torch at the entrances of each corridor u've cleared.

Thanks for the recommendation! But even torches thrown on the ground tend to burn very short time.

      Hi,

This is a fun idea for sure. Marking with X marks on the walls of corridors sounds a bit complicated, it might be possible to attach something to the walls, though, or drop markers that appears on the map. I'll ponder a little on this one, maybe I have an idea although not exactly what you are asking for.

Drop a low value item at whatever points you want to mark in the cave/dungeon. You could use a few iron arrows (then they will drop in a quiver to make them easier to see) or the clothing you loot from bandits (1 gold value ... unless you are like me and using Enhanced Economy you won't miss the 1 gold at the end of the day).

As an added benefit you can leave them there forever marking the spot or pick them up on your way out so the cave/dungeon is "ready" for your next trip. If you had a mod that marked on the walls you'll eventually need to remember was this cave four marks means I've been down this corridor or three marks (and what about the corridor you forgot to mark or didn't visit last time).

I have only made one housemod for Skyrim, Highview Cottage. It's in the same style, with lots of special crafting featuers, as my Oblivion houses, and the view from it is breathtaking. But in Skyrim huge-sized mansions are more popular than small houses, so I don't think many people use it.
I haven't released any new mods for Skyrim since november 2012, and I'm not sure if I will do so in the future either. Since then I have only made new upgraded versions of Vilja in Skyrim and add-ons to that mod. I find it very enjoyable to mod for Oblivion and for the Oblivion community.

Hi Emma, as usual, you made another great house! I've been using your mods since Morrowind, which I still play on occasion. Came back to Oblivion, and lo and behold, more houses from you! Thank you so much for all your mods, as it has made playing these games so much more enjoyable! You are definitely one of, if not the best, house modder in Oblivion! Endorsed

      Thank you so much
In my book, Korana's mods still are setting the bar when it comes to housemodding, and there are several other housemodders that I also thoroughly admire, but I'm really happy that my houses are liked and used by quite a few Oblivionplayers, although I arrived so late to the Oblivion scene (released my first housemod for Oblivion in december 2009).

I always have an Oblivion housemod in progress, as it is so nice relaxation from other kind of modding, so if you check back later, you might find more. I'm currently working on a massive upgrade of Fisherman's cottage, but I have no idea when it will be finished.

I look forward to seeing what you're doing with the houses! Always good stuff! I arrived a bit late to Oblivion myself, around the end of 2008.Actully owned Morrowind for almost two years before I really started playing it. Then a friend introduced me to Oblivion, and I was hooked. I love Skyrim as well (LOVE listen to Vilja talk, lol, I'm totally in love with your voice; I'm in USA, so you're accent just floors me, so beautiful), but there's something about Oblivion that keeps me coming back.

Korana is definitely one of the great house modders, but in my opinion, you're right up there with her. Again, thank you so much for all you mods, and looking forward to seeing what you're going to come up with in the future!
