I was unable to get it to swap images. Error logs say access to the C:\Oblivion folder was denied. Tried to run as administrator and fiddler with permissions but it didn't seem to work.
Just a heads up for anyone trying to use this in 2021.
The root directory (C:) is protected by UAC, not just program files since the windows folder lies there. Try using a subfolder such as C:\Games\Oblivion for Oblivion and it should work then. It's how I have mine setup and it works with no problems.
With little hope I post something here but what the hell...
Everything was working worderfully I was running 4 installs
One day, It just stopped working. Open .exe file, icon goes to the task bar below. Window never shows up. Like having an forcefully permanent minimized program
It happened once before, tried a system restore and I got it working again. Now happened a second time, system restore didnt' work this time
EDIT: think the problem is the window is displacing to somewhere outside the desktop, special ways of re-locating it worked. hopefully for good this time.
I found the instructions quite unclear. exactly does an "image" do here? Also, in the settings, the "Paths", are they where I want to copy files to, or where from I want to copy? All I've managedto do is to make my whole Oblivion folder disappear, and I don't know where to...
This is my first post here!! . Multiple Oblivion Manager is a benediction, it’s priceless to have multiple copies of the game without anxiety everytime you try to install a new mod… and then the chance to install the total conversions….. and it’s less complicated than others I’ve tried. Each of us should give a big “thank you” to Hanaisse and InsanitySorrow, and only 116 endorsements seem to very few to me !
Hi, I'm working with MOM for the first time and I'm confused on part of the section for doing the multiple BAIN stuff. In the read it it lists 8 files to copy and move into the newly created BAIN folder. Are we supposed to move just the files, or are we to create the full file structure within the new BAIN folder? Example: BAIN\Oblivion Mods\Bash Mod Data\Table.dat BAIN\Oblivion Mods\Bash Mod Data\Table.dat.bak etc.
Or
BAIN\Table.dat BAIN\Table.dat.bak etc.
A second issue I'm having is that I did a fresh install of my Oblivion and when I went to get the second set of Table.dat & Table.dat.bak from the INI DATA folder, the folder wasn't there. I've seen it before, in my previous install, so I know it has existed. Any suggestions on what to do?
I used this fairly recently. At first it was hard to understand but through trial and error, I managed to figure out how to use the basics and it worked flawlessly. Thanks Hanaisse for a wonderful utility.
Heres a guide to moving all the mod archives for OBMM and NMM out of the game folder once youve allready installed MOM. Not sure whats required for Wyre Bash, not very comfortable with that program so experiment for yourself
For new users highly recommend moving both archive locations before installing MOM, to avoid having to repeat the process for every new image. The headache with archives saved in the game folder for every MOM image is the pointless file duplication, extra time required to make new images & that new mods added to either mod program are fixed to the active image at the time. So heres how to fix it
with OBMM 1) create new file path 'obmm/mods' folders where you want the archives saved to outside the game directory 2) in OBMMs Settings for your active image, direct the mods directory there and wait for it to move all the omods 3) rename the folder 'mods bak ...' (for the image name) and make a new 'mods' folder, so you can repeat step 2 for the next image 4) swap the MOM image 5) repeat steps 2-4 till all images are represented 6) merge all archives into one 'mods' folder
with NMM 1) open the user.config in AppData / Local / Black_Tree_Gaming / NexusClient.exe_Url_fn0w2gsklzpf4ejqea5orcgrkq1frzpu /... with Notepad++ and look for 'NMM mods' to copy the file path inside <string> </string> somewhere handy like a notepad and close notepad++ 2) create a new file path 'NMM mods' folder where you want the archives saved to outside the game directory 3) in NMM's Settings for your active image, direct the mods directory there and then close NMM 4) but nothings been moved, you have to manually move the archives to the new location 5) then relaunch NMM to finalize the process and close NMM again 6) rename the folder 'NMM mods bak ...' (for the image name) and create a new 'NMM mods' folder 7) swap the MOM image open up the user.config again, and look for 'NMM mods' which now shows the new location, it now needs to be reset to the original file path you saved to notepad in step 1. then save it as *all files 9) repeat steps 3-8 till all images are represented 10) merge all archives into one 'NMM mods' folder.
