This game causes incompatibilities with some mods, especially if they're placing things outside the borders, or makes you to not be able to leave some locations.
Requires more testing on my side, to understand what's causing it and find alternatives or what's the best solution ... once I know (and I'm not lazy) I'll come back and post more info (or not, you know how it goes with such claims lol)
hey do you think you could help me? I've manually set the bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 but the borders are still very much there and i can not cross? downloaded this mod and the game wont start..... what do i do to get rid of the boarders? Edit: the game now starts. But the mod doesn't work... i cant enable it, won't appear and the boarders are still there :(
May 2 @ 2:36pm You have to edit your Oblivion.ini file and set bBorderRegionsEnabled to zero:
Like this:
[General] ..... .... other values ..... bBorderRegionsEnabled=0 ....
But you have to edit the INI file that's on you user profile (<user>\Documents\My Games\Oblivion), not the one in the Oblivion exe directory. Actually f*#@ the person that "made" this shitty mod. Broke my game just spent hours trying to fix only to learn didn't need in the first place. Now I can leave interiors again and no download necessary. Save yourself time and madness and follow above instructions. f*#@!
After editing the oblivion.ini to allow open boarders I would still get the turn back message and this mod is the only thing that's worked, now I can go to Elsweyr and Daggerfall....Thank you :)
I now know why I had the problem in the first place, I was editing the ini file in the oblivion directory of my installation however by default it was using ini in my games/oblivion, to stop this edit that ini file and set bUseMyGamesDirectory=0. For good measure copied the one from my games folder to the oblivion directory. Took me days to figure that out and I'm grateful this mod was there for me in the meantime so I could explore.
This mod does not works. It denies me from walking out if any city, cave, house etc. It tells me ''you cannot go that way, turn back''. I did download this game with Vortex and it for some reason f***ed up the hole game for me. So is it wrong with Vortex or what? Do anyone else have this problem?
Edit: I will try to download it manually to a empty folder and move it to my Oblivion folder.
same, got stuck in the city, couldn't leave or fast travel. tried testing my game with just this mod and ctd. our best bet is to manually edit the files as some mod authors tell us in order to open up the game's borders
I had same problem, i got it fixed tho. What you do is go into Nmm where you have oblivion mods. On top it says plugin press it and on the bottom look for the borderless.esp or what it's called. It was unticked for me, i activated it and now it works.
It looks like the latest version of Vortex gives you the option of creating a mod from the .esp. It gave me a message about normally using archives but then gave me the option. The plugin was there and everything.
Would you please put the plugin into a compressed folder? Not being put in one prevents it from showing up anywhere when you download it via a mod manager.
It's because it's just a .esp and Vortex seems to have a problem with that, and maybe NMM too I guess. Just put it in a .zip/.rar/.7z file and it'll be good to go.
This may be a silly question but i'm new to modding oblivion. If you remove the border is it possible to risk walking right off the world? Or wandering spawns to get stuck out there?
Landscape is randomly generated some miles farther the borders, so you can't walk right off the world accidentally. You can do it by your wish if you walk really long, but you'll just fall from flat land to lower flat land and die. No glitches and save corruptions. AI never ever goes out of Cyrodiil (if it is not forced to by another mod). You can make it do it by making an NPC your companion or by making an enemy follow you by making him trying to reach you, but that's totally safe too. Bethesda just created this borders so that players won't see blank world during normal playthrough. Nothing dangerous.

It just keeps saying, "can't be added".
