I've been using your mod for several months now. I started a new character, a redguard warrior, who is level 60 and holding.I liked very much how I could choose which points to invest where as my character progressed and how your mod tilted the leveling system to a more combat ability focus.

My first two characters were disasters. The first was a mage.I realized quite early that if I wanted to play a mage, I needed a bountiful supply of potions to fuel my spells. After spending much time with alchemy, raising it to a decent level to make decent magika regeneration potions, I found myself in a horrible position of not being able to kill anything at all once I stepped outside of a town.My character had advanced to level 12ish from just mercantile and alchemy and my destruction and the like was undeveloped. I spent three hours pouring pitifully weak fireballs into a troll while running around the tree outside of Leiiwynn as the gate guard beat on the back of it before comming to the realization that Oblivion was definately a combat skills only game.

I then started a thief.Same problem as before... I enjoyed breaking and entering, sneaking around, picking locks in the wee hours of the moring all over the imerial city but when I finally left, I died in one or two hits from any mob in the land. It was at this point, I began looking online for mods to solve these problems and allow me to develop my characters any way I saw fit and forego Bethseda's forcing players into a warrior build archetype.

Your mod was the answer to my dilemna and I thank you very much for releasing it to the public, as you undoubtably experienced the same frustrations I did when first starting.

That said, I would suggest the following for a future release:

Tone down even further the impact of non-combat skill advancements on level advancements. Regardless of how good my mercantile and alchemy gets and advances my character 12 levels, skills like these are worthless during combat and gaining levels from their development is a curse and not a blessing. Monsters don't care that your blade and light armor skill is at 20, but rather that you are a level 12 enemy. I'd rather have non-combat skills advance my character zero levels than be forced into levels from their development because I want to begin a career in a trade prior to adventuring out into the wide world. If that means my character caps at level 30 then so be it.

In lieu of the above, I then created a warrior and did not even bother with trade skills.Straight away, I took a sword, shiled and armor and went out into the wild and started killing things. In no time at all I became powerful beyond my wildest imagination. I'm now level 60, with most of my combat oriented skills maxxed and am now working on training magic skills such as destruction so that hopefully, I can one day be the mage I wanted to be from the very beginning./sigh

I'm also here again searching for a different mod(s) that address the above issues so that I can start another character and play as a mage from the very beginning.

In sum, thank you very much for the mod, it was quite helpful, but still not what is necessary for a mage character in mind.

Assuredly I can tell you, you don't know how to play those classes. Your first mistake in the mage was not focusing on spells and wasting time on alchemy. It stinks but like all great minds it takes time (literally as in if you press T for wait, your mana will be back to full) and as for the thief class, you need to raise your light armor skill. That requires you to either raise by trainer (making it a secondary skill or allowing enemies to hit.) I have played the thief class the most and I can tell you they are far from unplayable. Oblivion has a high learning curve and if you play vanilla you need to strategize your major skills and also go with the opposite of what you are specializing in (birth signs,...everything combat instead of stealth (eg: assassin build, caster for warrior etc etc.

I just ran into a weird bug where I gained like 14 levels in a row. I was already level 30ish with full Daedric and maxed Blade and Heavy Armor, though, so it wasn't a big deal. I could see this screwing with a mid-level char, though, so you might want to check out what happened. I wasn't able to reproduce it, unfortunately.
