Name: Mara's Protection - Gift of Immortality
Version: 1.5
Date: 1/20/2010
Category: Quests / Items and Objects
Author: Joben

=================
Requirements:
=================

Oblivion 1.2.416
Oblivion Script Extender
Homepage: http://obse.silverlock.org

This mod contains very brief unvoiced dialog; therefore Universal Silent Voice is recommended, but not required.

=================
Description:
=================

Find the legendary Mara's Bloom which allows you to make an NPC immortal (Essential.)
You can also use it to resurrect a dead NPC.

=================
Details:
=================

This mod's principle addition is a token item called Mara's Bloom that can be given (via a companion share mod)
or reverse-pickpocketed into an NPC's inventory. While they have it they will be Essential.
They become Un-Essential again if you take it away.

New in version 1.5: If you place the token in a dead NPC's inventory they will be resurrected.
However, if you do this their life will be bound to the bloom; If you take it away they will die again instantly.

The Bloom is incorporated into the gameworld and there is a simple quest to get it.
There is even a logical (by fantasy game standards :P ) backstory to explain making an NPC basically un-killable.
The quest is started by finding a book, which is in a logical place considering the subject matter. (Spoiler

below in Incompatibility if you can't find it.)

When you activate the mod you have the option of getting one or more flowers instantly for free.
This is for the sake of people who might want this simply as a utility mod to keep their companions alive.

=================
Upgrade:
=================

Just extract to Oblivion\Data and allow it replace existing files.

=================
Incompatibility:
=================

No problems known at this time.
Tested with TalkieToasters Companion Share and Recruit.
It should work just fine with any others companion systems too.

***SPOILER*****
For debugging purposes these are the things the mod changes.
Don't read this if you don't want to know were this mod's items are located: This mod places an item in the

Bravil Chapel and modifies wilderness cells "8, -8" and "9, -8" West of Bravil, North-West of Bloodmayne cave.
As of the time of this writing it does not conflict with Unique Landscapes.
***End of Spoiler****

=================
Known Issues:
=================

If you use the resurrect function the NPC might revert to default behavior, going home or back to their job.
You'll probably have to re-recruit companions. AFAIK I can't fix this, it's just how the Resurrect command works.

Don't give this to NPC's who are set to respawn. Loss of the item or other odd things might occur.
