For changing button FROM A to R (like skyrim), or to ANOTHER BUTTON, You need to do next

or, You can do it manualy: 4 Press F2 to SCDA scring. Press right button, after 3 sec. 5 Search "Hex Key ID" of A (for A it's: 0x1E) 6 Edit 'Hex Key ID' to ur button (for R it's: 0x13) 7 Save.
You can not edit script code with TES4edit. Poor gui design on their part for implying you can because it will open an edit box but it won't let you enter data. Apparently you can edit everything but the actual script code with TES4edit though.
I second what others said. Despite edit is saved, the script is obviously screwed and I can't figured out how I can compil it with TES4edit
Instead, I had success with construction kit like describe HERE?
The steps to change it yourself are really easy. First go to your Oblivion/Data directory and save a backup somewhere of the mod's esp file: ATakesAll.esp.
Get the latest version of the Construction Set here from the nexus if you don't already have it.
Since the script uses OBSE, you need to launch the Construction set through the OBSE launcher or it'll give an error when we try to edit the script that controls what button it is. So to launch the Construction Set, open a Command Prompt (it'll be in the Accessories folder of your Launch menu) and change folders to the Oblivion folder. Then type: obse_loader -editor
Open the ATakesAll.esp and set it as the Active File. Go to Gameplay -> Edit Scripts. Open the TakeAll script. About halfway down you'll see the script says: OnKeyDown 30. 30 is the number for the A key. 19 is the number for the R key. The full set of values can be found at http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php?title=OnKeyDown.
Change the 30 to 19 and then save the script, close the script edit window and save the mod. Quit and now when you run Oblivion it'll use the R key.
It works absolutely perfectly fine for me. In fact, it works so well I'd like to re-bind it to R (Skyrim default I think) because it feels more natural :)
I might be a bit late to the party and I only skimmed the comments here, so some might have mentioned this, but...
If you pickpocket somebody and use the hotkey for take all, it takes all... clothes, armor, weapon... which can be hilarious when you paralyze somebody in combat, sneak, pickpocket and strip them down in less than 1s.
Not really an issue if one doesn't want to exploit it, one can just ignore it and everything is fine, but ...
edit: also, it seems that taking all when pickpocketing doesn't alert the victim (not sure) and might not rise sneak, haven't checked though
I don't understand how to use this. I downloaded this via Vortex, enabled it, and it even shows up under Data Files in the launch menu. However, pressing A does not work for me. Anyone know any tips?
It is not safe to install oblivion mods via vortex or nexus mod manager, use wyre bash or oblivion mod manager, since oblivion mod installing is a bit complicated and sometimes u will need to "create the mod". Same for morrowind.
Vortex is a terrible program. I've been installing mods manually 'cause I'm sick of mod managers being incapable of installing mods properly. A simple mod like this should be as easy as putting the ESP in the Data folder.

I simply looked for 1E (by just clicking twice, slowly) in SCDA-Compiled script, and I replaced it with 13. Then hit ctrl+S to save. That's it.
Edit: Just found R to Take All mod, that also let's you take books!
doesn't work
nevermind, i missed the OBSE requirement partI'd check your load order or dirty plugins?

*EDIT*
Living in an AZERTY country but using a QWERTY keyboard, I can confirm that the 'A' key ('Q' key on AZERTY) works like stated on the tin.
