    @Sudian

Ayleid statues are a quest item in the Imperial City. Simply sell one to a merchant, and you will be contacted and requested to talk to a guy named Umbaccano. Simply proceed forward from there =)

this is an awesome mod but judging by the comments it is not compatible with midas and therefore will interfere with my game, so if you could make it compatible for midas then i will download.

i think that this is an amazing idea and was not sure how to do it myself so i am grateful that someone else did it, after all if varla stones can be used to recharge enchantments why can't they be used to create enchanted items, and why would the ayelids go through all the trouble of securing them if they were not amazing items.

i only wish that the ayelid statues did something other than look pretty, sure they are a quest item in one of the cities of cyrodiil but they just look pretty and that makes no sense to me, especially considering that they are harder to get and more securely protected then varla stones are.

thanks for the mod though, as i said if you can include compatibility with midas magic then i will definitely download.

I've been looking for something like this for a while! Varla stones always seem like a big deal being so rare and all, and usual very well hidden in the Ayleid cities then all they do is recharge items! Lame...

400% power seems a bit over the top but hey...i can tone that down myself <img class="> Thanks!

Also, I did write the script so you CAN use the Varla as a Varla stone.

I didn't say that I could not USE it as a varla stome for recharging magical items. I meant that to the game it is no varla stone anymore and thus I could not use it with the spellmaker. For example, I have the ayleid silverware replacer from cryptic, but despite a different name the game recognizes them as silver dishes and so I can use them.

Of course you are under no obligation to make your mod compatible with midas magic, but then again I want to be free to deactivate a mod, when it isn't working the way I expected it to plus it makes the other thing impossible.

Now, if you sometime in the future make an update that changes item enchanting and maybe prevent the varlas from vanishing when being deactivated, I will try it again (I'll track this topic). I don't need true varlas every day, so I could easily work around that, if I got to keep the stones.

Ok I just did some additional testing and it seems your right about enchanting armor/clothing. I think there's an additional game setting for the maximum enchantment for each kind of stone (lesser, common, grand etc) that I need to change. But like I said I don't know when I can get around to an update.

Also, I did write the script so you CAN use the Varla as a Varla stone. Equip it in your inventory like you would ordinarily and it will recharge all your enchanted items just like an ordinary varla stone. As I said in the readme, there is a minor visual glitch in this functionality but it does work.

    1. You're right, the varla is a soulgem when your mod is installed. Hence I cannot use the varla as a varla anymore, that was the reason I wanted to disable the mod. Because of

    2. You're right again, I CAN enchant any item with the varla, but unlike with weapons, there's no way to take advantage of the higher worth of the stone. The price is higher, but the enchantment is not. It gives exactely the same enchantment as a normal grand soul gem, it only costs more gold. And

    3. I never said you should do that, I only said that it would be nice to give a warning in your readme that the varlas are gone when removing the mod.

Why does this mod steal all my varla stones away (in inventory AND container), when I disable it?

I tried to create a midas spell with a varla stone, but it didn't work. So I assumed it was this mod - which doesen't work for me anyway, not for item enchanting, only for weapons.

So do I have to sacrifice all of my current varla stones?

Nevermind, I deactivated the mod and console'd the missing varlas back in my inventory. Too bad this works only for weapon enchanting and not for items.

But you probably should put that in your readme. People do like to know when they need to be married to certain mods. <img class=">

First off, I don't use Midas Spells, therefore I can make no judgement regarding compatibility or suitability for that (or any other) mod. As a rule of thumb, for all intents and purposes varla stones are ordinary grand soul gems. When used for enchanting, the script adjusts the soul level of grand soul gems to make varla stones more powerful. I did NOT adjust the spellmaking menu in any way, although it would not be difficult to add spellmaking functionality to the mod.

Secondly, I have no problems enchanting any enchantable item when using this mod. I've used it to enchant clothing, armor, and weapons and it's worked flawlessly. There is no code in the scripts that even looks at what item is being enchanted, so I can see no possible way why this mod would not work with any item.

Thirdly, I did not implement any disable functionality to return a person's normal varla stones to their inventory before disabling or removing this mod. That's my bad, but at present I've other projects taking up my time so I can't give any estimate on when I might be able to release an update.
