There is the school of Hard Knocks, and the University. The guilds are there to train individuals into a profession. It seems pretty socialist to me. Oh, and by the way, "Public Schools" are the ones you have to pay large sums on top of your taxes to get into, "Private Schools" are the ones the governments owns (privately, and not in a public partnership) which you don't have to pay extra (you pay for them in your taxes) to send your kids to.

And I agree, by the way, there should be a tax relief or state manufacture of cheep books if you want more people to read, or a free Library, where you can read all the books you can't afford to buy, but I believe that has been done.

What I am more interested in is... where is the imperial press? These books are beautifully bound and printed... they don't look as thought they are transcribed by monks to me. So where do they get the technology for a mechanised printers press, and why aren't they using it for war or other industries. If you can make a printing press, why not a mill that spins and weaves yarn? This would put us in the industrial revolution, not the middle ages. I guess they have some Dwemir presses left over that they don't understand how they work. <shrug>

Not trying to bash your mod, but isn't that a little backwards? If the Empire wanted to encourage education, they'd reduce the cost of books to increase the number of people who can afford them!

    Quote.......
(with me thinking there are no such things as public schools in Oblivion).
    End quote...

Oh, well, it is very simple: you see, no children, no schools !
