-Xenxander: I actually had that idea at first, but I figured that the purpose of this mod is to counteract (to some degree) the rarity of soul gems, and using rare gems doesn't really help. There is also the whole OOO, MMM, other gem mod thing, where there are so many added gems that nobody knows what to use.
Update: I have just updated the script in the mod, turns out that I had commented out the 2 lines required for Daedra Hearts to work. Fixed now, please redownload the file.
I was actually considering requesting a mod like this.
But I was toying with the idea that you need real 'gems' as well as something magical (your altar is a good idea) to make the gems.
Perhaps: flawless diamond: grand soul gem flawless ruby: greater flawless pearl: common any 'non flawed' gem for lesser any 'flawed' gem for petty.
now I don't remember if flawless gems are in vanilla oblivion, as I use MMM, but I am pretty sure there were three levels of base gems: flawed, regular, and flawless. Of course if you do this, I would also request it be compatable with MMM / OOO, as they also use perfect gems and gems not in vanilla, like Amethyst and such.
the bonmeal might also be needed, so that can just be 'another' ingredient needed along with the gems, and of course I agree, more bonemeal needed.
*blinks eyes rapidly* Wow, did not expect such a quick or great reception. Especially not on my pre-even-really-finished version. Thanks for all the suggestions.
I have updated this mod and have added quite a bit of content. Read the description/readme for more details. Truly, it is the advice and opinions of the modding community that make great mods (simply by the power of suggestion). Thank you all again.
-LHammonds, you're quite welcome. Always have liked your work. Thanks for tagging my file. *Proud to be your 158th kudos giver*

hehehe...thanks for my first giggle of the day. ">
FYI - I set the initial search tags based on description (may not be all the tags that fully describe the mod).
To all uploaders, please don't forget to configure the search tags for your mod. You are the ones that know the mod's contents the best. If you have not used the "Tag search" feature, give it a shot. You can find exactly what you are looking for rather than just be a general category. FYI - The Tag search utility cannot find mods that were not tagged.

LHammonds (File Admin)
I would recommend higher prices though, both gold and bonemeal.
