Hey! Thanks for letting me know you were creating stuff for Oblivion. I'm going to install it this week and give it a go.

I've experimented with what the last poster recommended. However, I don't think the tweaks are worth it. There is no need to buy the best items. If you think some are overpowered then take the less powerful ones: Most items have several variations.

    Thanks for the comments, though.

Restarted the quest over from scratch, and finally found all the keys. Hints for others who may be having trouble: always look over the larger chests when they're on the ground; in fact, double check. One's near the very beginning of the dungeon, several are on the bottom level where the others are hidden, and several are on the upper levels. No I'm not giving any more information than this. SUFFER!

Anyhow, interesting mod. Thank you for contributing! <img class=">

Not a bad mod. Think I may be a bit screwed, though; as I hadn't been looting corpses when I first started working my way through the fort - I suspect five bodies with five keys may have despawned. If this is, in fact, what happened; It'd be nice if future versions of this mod would either explicitly prevent despawning, key-carrying corpses, or come up with another workaround to prevent this problem from happening.

Could be improved with a more fleshed-out backstory; may see if you can get a writer-type to extrapolate dialogue and add quest entries. May want to provide hints at character biographies as you go through the process of rescuing them, and have each npc thank the player in their own way, once they meet you later in shop.

Even though the gear's intended for harder difficulty games, it seems pretty damn overpowered. A balrog (added through Midas Magic) might take a good 10-15 minutes to kill with normal methods can be downed in about four hits, with a little prep work from the stuff in this mod. Still, I love the spells included, and have learned a lot from seeing how they interact and reinforce each other.

I wouldn't mind a walkthrough for key locations. If you wanted to, you could probably password a .rar file and tie it with a riddle that you'd only be able to answer if you'd gotten deeply enough into the quest. 'cause I've been through that place with a fine toothed comb, and I'm still missing some keys.

Anyhow, interesting mod, can use some more polish and fine tuning, hope you keep working on it.

Sorry for my late reply. The keys are really there. Some are hidden in small chests. And they may not be on the floor. Others can be found on NPCs.

    Hope this helps. <img class=">

Version 2.37 features a quest for those who feel the Black Gear members should be killed. Instead of using a closed quest location the quest can be played anywhere in Cyrodiil. This means that you should make a backup of your game before killing them, because innocent bystanders are not spared. Due to the dangers to your game, the quest is optional and locked. To unlock it you must enter a console command. There is also a console command in case you want to abort the quest.

For those players who rather use a controlled environment I am working on a variation of this quest in a closed location.

In addition to the above this version adds the Staff of Indarys and the Thornblade longsword and claymore quest reward upgrades. It also fixes some bugs.

Uploaded version 2.36 which adds a Jailor to the Black Arena, some tweaks to the Executioners, some more overall tweaks to make it a bit harder for low level players, better protection for Helviane, new weapon upgrades, new and updated spells, tweaks to some existings weapons, new armored hoods and a couple of bug fixes.

There will be at least 10 executioners in this version, no matter what level you are. Players wiith a level of 31 and up will face up to 10 additional executionrs. The fort now contains 69 mutineers, 1 jailor and 20 executioners.

    Uploaded a new version...

The quest isn't an easy walk in the park anymore. Depending on your level you will face between 69 and 89 mutineers. The third level of the fort in Version 2.35 is much harder for player types like archers and mages. In earlier versions you were able to shoot through gate bars, but these gates are now replaced by doors. The third level has been optimized a bit and you should have a better frame rate there.

Also fixed some minor issues and added a Volendrung Battle Staff quest reward upgrade.
