I disagree with the forumite below me. It's not that complicated to reload... not any more complicated than recharging a magic item. *shrugs* It does use a lot of magical energy, but I don't see this as a problem. This is a very powerful weapon. It should use a lot of magical energy, and not be the answer to every possible enemy which we're faced with.
I like this mod because compared to some other gun mods, which odd modern pieces into this medieval fantasy game, it is arguably possible that the blunderbuss could appear in Elder Scrolls. Controversial, but possible. It's a very specific type of roleplay which might call for the blunderbuss, is what I mean to say.
Y'know, for what it's worth, firearms in real life were actually created by 'magicians' of sorts. Alchemists, while trying to find the fountain of youth, accidently created a flammable powder (which we know as gunpowder). The original use of it was to 'scare demons away', but they found other uses for it as well, like bombs, rockets, and cannons.
I really love this mod, thank you. what a great idea this was, you took 3 good ideas and turned it into a great idea. Fantastic work i hope to see more.
I love the versatility of the Blunderbuss' script. I modified mine to act as an area-effect Drain Fatigue (to the point NPCs fall over from exhaustion) weapon just to put anyone hit by it in prime position for a Deadly Reflex-style Ground Impale. Very neat job indeed. =u=
I will say the Blunderbuss' barrel is a bit too short, even for a Blunderbuss--when your character crouches, the right hand is a bit too close to the end of the barrel, so lengthening the barrel by just a little bit would definitely help. o.o
What's funny about the Blunderbuss is that every time I look at it, I keep thinking that by giving it a break-open breech, a leaf sight, and a not-flared large bore, we'd have a magic gun that looks like a M79 Grenade Launcher. Safe to say that if that ever becomes a reality in the land of Cyrodiil, it means a couple of Mages actually did refine the Blunderbuss into the next generation of Magic Guns. >u<
