This works perfectly and I really like it. I had taken to changing my armorer skill to 100 because the whole repair system was too problematic (never enough hammers and weighing way too much). This gives an option to actually train up as one actually would. It can be more of a fix than 'cheat' if you choose. Thank you for a really helpful mod that I really enjoy.
I don't think this is that bad of a cheat. I mean, torches don't weigh anything... Why not hammers? And, with their drastically reduced usage (i.e., in Morrowind, a hammer had a definate amount of uses before it broke; in Oblivion, it's random) I think this is fine. I also remember in Morrowind you coudln't carry around a few thousand lockpicks. So, if you're going to complain about weightless items, complain about the weightless lockpicks and torches.
Hmmm... the hammer could be even heavier instead. What is wrong with the hammer is, that it last only a couple of repairs! Who would go to shop and buy a hammer that will break in two days??? A good hammer should last a couple of years. Where is the customer service when you need it?
Well, this is game, but a little bit of realism would do good...
Or, do what I did. Get the amulet of disintegration, wear it, and constantly repair your items until you are a master of armorer. Then you only need one hammer.
Weighing "0.000..." isn't what I call realism. Hammers aren't weightless. I understand that the hammers can be overbearing but either get better strength, deal with it, or make the weight more reasonable.
