Unsure if it's a conflict or not but all of the clutter within is un-owned? I can't pick up anything without losing Karma as it's listed as 'Steal'. What's up with that?
Nope.... but perhaps some mod that modifies area ownership. Installed some novac motel player home mod and it seems fine. Really would prefer your one however am I just fucked?
Having same issue. I don't have mods that add or change any player homes but I do have Essential Vanilla Enhancements Merged. Also, is the door to the basement supposed to be locked? I don't have any lockpicks yet although I know there are some in the school..just wondering if this was intentional.
Update! Added a version that does NOT require Dynamic Weapon Displays, as well as some bugfixes and minor touches, including removing dirty edits. Highly recommend you update to this.
Updated the main page with a list of mods that are compatible with this mod. They're just ones I use, so there's probably some esoteric stuff missing. Also, I uploaded a screenshot of Wasteland Flora Overhaul working with it!
Its not working for me I load into my game and the shack has not changed iv downloaded it both ways and nothing am I doing something wrong could use some help Thanks.
All the items inside are owned, though. Is this intentional or maybe caused by the fact that I had visited the shack prior to installing the mod? Also the tool box next to the car outside is floating. That may, however, just be a compatibility issue, I haven't properly checked.
I might also go into the mod in the GECK and remove some of the clutter and the loot in the containers. It's quite a bit (especially ammo) and I'm playing with a lot of mods that make the loot and economy a bit harsher, so I would prefer the home to fall in line, too. But that's just my personal preference. :)
No idea why they'd be owned or why the toolbox would be floating (unless it's super slight), must be some other mod conflicting (one that modifies the ownership of the cell perhaps, maybe Mass Ownership Tweaks, which is included in Essential Vanilla Enhancements?).
And yeah, the amount of goodies given out is something I was worried about, I almost put the basement behind a harder lock (average) so that you'd at least have to "work" for it, but I didn't want to lock early-game players out of having a crafting station in a convenient spot. Might make a modified version that removes a lot of the food and other stuff. Most of it was put there more as decor than actual utility -- I figure if anyone didn't want to use it, they'd just pick it up and put it somewhere else that they never access (like I do lol).
Aw man, of course! I am using Essential Vanilla Enhancements and I actually knew that Mass Ownership Tweaks is included there. Sometimes a mod list gets so extensive that you just simply forget things. And the floating tool box might be a conflict, indeed. I have to make further investigations. It break nothing, though. :)
And yeah, it certainly looks super good with the items as decor. I also have the self-discipline to not pick it up, anyway. Just felt like I'd mention it. :)
Again, great work! I wanna check out your other home, too if I get the chance!
I appreciate it! The toolbox floating is actually on my part, somehow didn't get it to sink fully to the ground. I'll put out a patch for that soon. Nothing else will be modified so your containers will be safe.
There is a note in the Description for the original Mass Ownership Tweaks mod that says: "Goodsprings will become unowned after Run Goodsprings Run". I do not know if this carried over into the Essential Vanilla Enhancements mod and I haven't tested it. Could be helpful.
As a modmaker who also has a player home in Goodsprings, this is really well done. Interesting choice to use Victor's Shack. The outside latrine area and the basement areas are definitely A+.
would love this as a standalone player house in goodsprings instead of a replacer for victor's shack even though, great job with the decoration and all! it's simple, but absolutely beautiful!
I could make an optional version that places it at the end of the dead-end road near the schoolhouse, if it's a big issue for you. I never used anything that modified Victor's Shack in a huge way, so I never thought of it as anything worth worrying about.
