Just wanted to update the sticky post because I have regained control of these conversions. Any important updates will be edited into the sticky posts on my mod pages. -JD

This version of Alton is completely self-contained. You do not need any extra patches. The most up-to-date version of this mod will always be found on this page. By using any other patch that edits or modifies this mod, you forfeit any support. Just drop it into your game and have fun!

Feels... Overrated, to be honest. Maybe it was amazing when Fallout 3 was new, but New Vegas alone raised the quality we should expect

    1. The factions aren't fleshed out at all. You don't dive into the whys of each to make an informed choice, and it's just kinda dropped on you suddenly

    2. Empty, pointless locations. Nearly every area I visited had practically nothing in it. A few supplies at best, but many not even that, mostly empty, one cell interiors, making exploring the map feel pointless.

    3. As far as I can tell, no weapons unique to this mod. Everyone in Alton just uses the same weapons you'd find in DC, which was disappointing.

    4. The Brotherhood plot hook was entirely pointless. Why is that the entrance, if nothing is ever done with it?

    5. Alton itself is a soulless town with nothing to really show. Enclave presence with no explanation for example.

    6. No new creatures outside the Plague enemies, who aren't all that different from Raiders anyway

    7. AUDIO. The endings were so quiet, I had to plus in headphones, just to make out any words. The music drowned out the endings, and sometimes dialogue.

    8. No real choices outside the factions.

Overall a disappointing experience. I'm glad some people like it, but it is absolutely not for me. It'd need a lot of updates before it becomes a mainstay of my load order.

I can get why you don't really like this mod, but I don't know what you expected. It's a really old Fallout 3 mod, most mods back then didn't even have voice acting. I think holding a very old Fallout 3 mod to the same standards as Fallout New Vegas story mods is a little silly.

Agreed. Layoff the Mod Author. They put a lot of work into this years ago. Don't show up now complain.

Offer to update the mod if anything. Peace and love to you mate.

Entered the manhole, but the way is blocked? Had to console command my way in, the only other time I played this mod. What am I missing?

Also, bugs section needed? I don't get notifications on comments.

hi, where are the bounty boards and how many are there? After I finished main quest I returned to Capital but some screen said there were new quests. So I checked New Godfrey board but there weren't anything new. I tried Underground and when I enter there "board discovered" screen appeared even though I couldn't find it. Can someone tell me how to find the new board?

Hey there, I use Mo2 to manage my mods and for some reason I cant figure out Alton deactivates every single time I launch the game. The esm is ticked when I launch and unticked when I close the game. Its the only mod I've ever seen do this and I have noo idea why. Any ideas?

It's unfortunate so many good quest mods are dependent on TTW. For some reason I can't get it to work anymore.

So I've noticed a lot of the containers in the player home aren't safe, what containers are safe?

it was just the footlockers that reset inventory, they're fixed now.

I've been using the footlocker in the plane wreckage as my storage locker while in Alton, lol

yeah, heh that footlocker at the plane crash site wasn't in the FO3 version and had a more insidious purpose involving companions that was canned. the 3.0 release was going to introduce a mechanic for hardcore that would kill companions if they were brought along (that plane only had one parachute, after all!), but I could never get it working in a manner that would account for non-vanilla companions. so now it's just a glorified storage container that doesn't respawn

Howdy, I have completed the Main Quest (sided with the Underground) and had a few questions.

1- Upon completion of this mod's main quest, I unlocked the quest board in the Underground Railroads bar. It has one quest, "Eviction Notice", however upon clicking on it and selecting ok, I do not receive the quest like I did with the two quests in New Godfrey. Is this just scuffed?

2- How do I gain further access to the Forsaken Brotherhood area?

3- Inside the Houck house, I found a basement key. Where is this basement?
