This mod uses textures from Gun Runners' Arsenal, but the DLC is not required to use the weapon in-game.

DESCRIPTION
Back in high school, I was super into paintball, and looking back, I'm embarrassed to admit that it was probably only because it made my teenage self feel like a badass when I couldn't have a real gun. I'm sure there were teenagers in Pre-War America who felt the same way, so why not, here's a paintball gun mod!

I started with the base game .22 SMG mesh and removed everything but the grip. I then added the trigger and trigger guard from the 25mm Grenade APW, the Flamer fuel tank, the muzzle device from the Marksman Carbine (acting as the bottomline), a wire from the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle (acting as the air hose), the grip from the Incinerator (acting as the forward grip), the pressure gauge from the anaesthesia machine, the extended magazine tube from the Hunting Shotgun, the charging handle from the .22 SMG (acting as the velocity adjustment screw), the receiver/barrel and bolt from the Silenced .22 Pistol, the rail from the .44 Magnum Revolver, the barrel from the Service Rifle, part of the grip from the Missile Launcher (acting as the hopper feed elbow) and a retextured motorcycle fuel tank (acting as the hopper).

Paintballs can be purchased, looted from containers, or crafted at any Workbench with a Repair skill of 35 or higher, using a Brahmin Skull (boil it down to make gelatin) and Centaur Blood. Acid paintballs require the same ingredients plus two Fission Batteries. Irritant paintballs use the same base recipe plus five Jalapeno Peppers. You can also convert regular paintballs into Acid or Irritant versions using only the extra ingredients.

Gameplay-wise, this weapon is not very accurate (shooting a liquid-filled projectile out of a smooth bore rarely is) and does almost no damage, but can be used to impart status effects. The regular paint rounds are good for little more than harassing fire, while Acid rounds damage the target's DT and poisons them slowly over time, and Irritant rounds effectively blind the target by crippling their Perception and lowering their effectiveness with guns. The weapon can be modded with the 9mm Pistol Scope. I've also added the weapon to all the appropriate form lists and leveled lists.

LOCATION
The weapon can be purchased from the Gun Runners and other vendors across the Wasteland, or found in random loot drops. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the Mod Index of the plugin in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1;Gives 1 Paintball Gun
player.AddItem ##000ADF 50;Gives 50 Paintballs
player.AddItem ##000AE0 50;Gives 50 Acid Paintballs
player.AddItem ##000AE1 50;Gives 50 Irritant Paintballs

The Mod Index is a two-character hexadecimal code, with a value between 00 and FF, that can be found using a mod manager. It should be listed somewhere beside the name of the plugin. After finding the Mod Index, open the console in game using the tilde (~) key, and type Player.AddItem <FormID> 1

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
