For some reason the semi-auto version didn't work for me? I had this mod installed, as well as the hooked charging handle mesh and the semi-auto plugin. I put the replacer esp into optional since I didn't want it to be replaced, but for some reason when I found one in-game the weapon was full auto. What did I do wrong? I had it arranged in my load order so the semi-auto esp should have been overwriting the base one.
Love this mod and I especially love the option to replace the 556 Service Rifle with this one.
Bug: Although it seems sometimes the model don't spawn in game correctly. They're in the Trooper's Inventory but its a big Red Rhombus with a White Exclamation point (!) in the middle rather than being the rifle. I can use the identical weapons just fine when I spawn one in, or buy one from a vendor. Its not every trooper either which is why its so weird.
If you're not using the replacer version, then they won't spawn with .308 ammo. The regular version simply adds this as a new weapon, in addition to the ones available in the base game.
Are you using the replacer version? I may not have changed all the records correctly. I did a search for anyone who uses the regular 5.56mm Service Rifle and edited their inventories to contain .308, but if NCR Troopers are equipped using randomized loot lists instead of the actual weapon itself, I may have overlooked it.
EDIT: Turns out that NCR troopers are equipped using a leveled list that doesn't actually contain the Service Rifle itself, so I missed it when first making the mod. I've released an updated version that should hopefully work properly now. You may have to wait a few in-game days for all NPC inventories to update if you're currently in the middle of a game.
Hey thanks for the reply and fix but I have now noticed that Troopers at some places still don't have .308 ammo but others do. Places I have noticed that they don't are at Camp Mccarran and Boulder City. But like I said some Troopers do carry .308 ammo at places like Camp Golf and Hoover Dam any idea why? I am in the middle of a game and also using the replacer version.
If you're in the middle of a game, maybe some troopers were spawned earlier, before the switchover and therefore retained the 5.56mm they originally spawned with. Give it a few in-game days and hopefully it should sort itself out? If not, I really have no idea where to begin looking...
In the mod itself it makes a service308 folder in 2handrifle instead of 2handautomatic.So just make a folder named in service308 in 2handautomatic and put the nif files in there and it worked for me.
Aw, hell, you're right, I screwed up the folder name in the archive! The ESP expects the Service308 folder to be in 2HandAutomatic, but I made it extract to 2HandRifle instead. Thanks for catching this!
In case you don't get notified of other replies in the thread, gonsegon pointed out that the folder path I included in the archive is wrong. The NIF files need to go in Meshes/Weapons/2HandAutomatic/Service308 like I told you, but the archive mistakenly extracted them to Meshes/Weapons/2HandRifle/Service308 instead. Cut/paste the Service308 folder from 2HandRifle to 2HandAutomatic and it will fix the issue.
Having a problem getting it to show up. Getting the red diamond with the exclamation point error. Not running WRP, reinstalled about 15 times, tried manual, clean install with nothing installed. It just will not load. I'm running MO2. Do you have any ideas? I really want to try your mod out.
What version are you using? Did you download the main file or one of the optional plugins? If you downloaded one of the optional plugins, you still need the main file for the meshes. Or, you need to download one of the optional meshes and extract them to Data/meshes/weapons/2handautomatic/Service308
1) Place the file with the .esp extension in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data" 2) Place the files with the .nif extension in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\meshes\weapons\2handautomatic\Service308" 3) In either the Fallout New Vegas launcher (click "Data Files") or your mod manager of choice, click the tickbox beside "FNV .308 Service Rifle.esp" so that a checkmark appears in the box.
Hey dude can you help me, please? I've downloaded and installed this mod manually and it seems not to work properly. Instead of normal rifle it showing a missing mesh model (big red rhomb with an exclamation mark) with no sound of shots
