Which version are/were you using? Also how do the random encounters work? When do they spawn? When you use fast travel? Or just randomly when you play, at any time? In any location?
Havent played it yet, DAMN YOU RL! I wanted to know if there would be other skill tests in plan or already made like luck based skilltests, with low luck bad things things happen very often but when something good happens it has a high chance to be very good and the other way around too. Luck of 10 but the deathclaw didnt knew that, something like that. Or stuff like high energy weapon and/or scienceskill at a higher level will make Brotherhood of Steel soldiers (or deserters if youre friends with the BoS, lorewise something like in Fallout 3) appear and attack you because they love energy, but no reputation loss if you kill them since they are outside their bunker and what happens in vegas stays in vegas. Or if you have a high barterskill you might get attacked by Van Graff thugs and Crimson Caravan guards, unless youre befriended with one of them, since one of their pasttimes seems to be hunting caravans.
Also why wouldnt people like you?

The Luck tests makes sense (mostly because it already was in Fallout 1 and 2) the rest. I'm not so sure. The Brotherhood policy does not allow them to leave bunker UNTILL player finish their loyality quests so... there really isn't a moment where they would show up as enemy. I like the idea of Brotherhood being hostile (something quite refreshing) but I have to write a bit longer scenario to make such situations to make sense.

Yeah youre right about the brotherhood, didnt think that through in that moment. And also there should be the at least four different scenerios in mind with the brotherhood. 1 brotherhoodbunker selfdestruct. 2 brotherhood genocide run. 3 elder mcnamara rules. 4 angry bald guy rules.
And there arent any nuka cola addicts in new vegas! And not enough bloodthirsty starhunters! Though i guess you probably added some stuff like that
I'll let the Rat kings stay in F2. However I'll think about unique creatures for New Vegas. Or... since this is much more human scenario in NV Maybe I'll do some crazy politics with silly dudes who wants to overthrow NCR or House for silly reasons.
Holy Vault Dweller! I completly forgot about those stars. There are so many unexplored ideas in NV and I was writing new factions with Special Technical Lore, different Legion leaders but so much stuff wasn't even touched in vanilla game :O.
I know right! I might get random ideas from time to time and most of them are just garbage but if you want i can spam them here in the comments or pm's or just stfu... thats an option too
Edit: Luck of 9 with all my equipment and level 3 in primm. First random encounter a motherfucking deathclaw. I rate 10/10 would jump off from rollercoaster in panic to break my legs for 18 exp again.
Yeah... I didn't put the Luck outcome yet... However I wanna make players insecure since Vanilla game is walk on the beach. How much I love the game I still am not interested in survival like I was in F1 and 2.

True, though i admit i got lucky there with postion and the incenerator of the powder gangers(?) and having bleed installed, so i could survive. So i want to ask if youre planning to make certain areas where, most notably deathclaws, might spawn? Also i really loved the ambush the first time i walked my way to novac. Do you have plans to make ambushes on certain chokepoints too? Not a legion or ncr assassin squad but actaul ambush. Maybe giant rat ambush?
I'm not sure if you are talking about same work as I did since my mod (at least for now) generates enemies in any part of Mojave Desert. i'm thinking about making some sort of markers which would count distance from player so player could not fight Deathclaw in the middle of the lake.
Oh sorry, if i wasnt understandable. Your idea with the marker is really good! (though i dont think deathclaws can walk or attack in water.. maybe? not even lakelurks can and thats weird af)
What i meant was maybe make certain events spawn only in certain areas, if thats possible? So deathclaws around Quary Junction, Deadwind Cavern and the Gypsum Train Yard for example.. or random encounters there of a deathclaw group. Further away of those hotspots single deathclaws spawn and further away almost no chance. I dont think that would make the experience less thrilling since other things could spawn in unusual places. The road from Primm to the Mojave Outpost could spawn Super Mutants, centaur, or different kinds of Ghouls since theres Jack Rabbit springs and Mesquite mountain crater nearby I dont know if you can or want to make it and im fine either way so just see it as a suggestion for the future.
You can find some. However all what this mod does is one timer which allows to summon copies of vanilla characters. If you have other mods their equipment can change however stats should stay the same. Also no changes in character creation.
Right now I'm working on script which would effect Faction relationship based of player help in combat.
For example if player killed some critters which were fighting NCR patrol player will get rewared in cash or if he's known as criminal he will redeem himself.
About my plans;
I have to make new critters show up (I never even touched the surface), simple quests and calendar based encounters. Also NCR and Legion aren't the only factions in area so I have to make more detailed scenarios for those events.
Building my list of mods I will be using on my next NV play, and you just found yourself a spot on my list. I really wanted a good way to bring back random encounters, and while the Fast Travel Anywhere mod that adds them is intriguing it also seems much more intensive than this approach. I look forward to seeing where this has come once I start my download process and get going.
To make it work with AWN I have to write at liest 10 lines of script into the every AWN XP Reward file. But for now my mod has to work on its own so... 100 hours of works are waiting for me.
That was the main goal . You see for lighthearted or high level characters those encounters are not much to be interested in but if someone has problems in combat encountering enemy or NCR Patrol can be Life changer.
Nice idea, I've been meaning to do something similar but I don't have the knowledge yet I wanna use this for my next DUST playthrough, so my question is, for compatibility reasons, what are the quest encounters? If you're worried about giving spoilers, could you spoiler tag it or PM me?

I will say this about Quests... I'm not sure exacly how those would look like because I have few ideas in mind.
For example here's simple one (there won't be spoilers here)
We encounter group of Hunters which are going after the prey (the creatures that also will be generated in same way), player can ask if they need help and together they are going to fight the monster. I'm not sure how to make reward since inventory of the NPC can be stolen so It would take a while to write stalker like hidden stash (which I belive would be very good idea in DUST)
However the NCR, Legion and many other faction encounters will be changed because helping factions in encounters like this will change your reputation and I don't plan to make DUST version of the mod.
Also I love the idea of people being afraid of deathclaws so they look for room at the night
