Great mod but question, can a feature be added when upon dismissing Billy, one could select where he gets dimissed to (i.e. Novac Motel or modded homes), something akin to this?
Anyone else have an issue where in the Fallout Mod Manager, that you can load it in the file manager, but it will not appear in the main file section showing i have the mod installed. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Also when i load him into the game he never actually appears in my game.
A great mod in the past, but considering his voice files no longer work for me, and I cant figure out why, and no matter where I put it in my load order he is always mute...and there is no bugs section for me to post this in, Im gonna have to downvote it and recommend you not to use this mod, as it seems to be bugged and broken
You got MikeBurnFire's mod? (His actual content/quest mod; not the Mike & Zach follower mod) His mod for sure - and possibly others - have a conflict with Billy. Got a line set that overwrites all of Billy's; they share the same line file. Gotta open the Geck and iirc duplicate Billy's vocals to a new line file. It's been near-on two years since I did it so I don't recall *exactly* what I did.
i will give you a really cool rock if you tell me what you did that make him speak words again and how to do it myself because i must hear his sweet sweet voice again
Gotta open Billy.esp in the GECK Then go over to Voice Type and create a new one -- you're gonna name it whatever you want. Probably best to keep it simple. Next you need to get his voice data -- probably best to set the geck to only show modded/non-vanilla files in the header menu; helps a bunch with small edits and that jazz. You're gonna go to New Vegas -> Data -> Sound -> Voice -> Billy folder. Once there, copy both audio and lip files from the original Billy Voice file to the new voice file you made. Save it and you SHOULD have Billy talking again -- I think; I might've missed a step.
Lemme know if it fails and I'll get a fresh billy and manually do it again.
@PapaPanzer - It's not terribly hard, just tedious, but no -- there is no other way to fix it. That's one of those damnable GECK-Only things; you can try to edit it in FNVEdit but it don't take. That said, if you've neither the time nor inclination to learn/try, then I could see about giving you my esp -- though I've tweaked some other stuff over the years, and am not inclined to change it back, so you'll have to deal with that. Mostly animation timings, a DR tweak, and limb damage multiplier to make his weak spots his 'arms' -- bring him in line with my other sentry bot edits. I figured I already altered the plugin so I wouldn't waste time on a patch when no-one else would ever have to deal with my edits.
So, your choice, really.
Edit: If you're using MO2, I can kinda sorta talk you through setting it up there and getting it working, too -- if you'd rather that. If you DON'T have MO2, then you're stuck with the .esp option, alone; I have no clue nor inclination to learn the working or integration of vortex, FOMM, or anything else. My apologies, but them's the breaks.
I adore Billy! With the newest sentry bot model mod that brings the prototype model from Robco to life, any hopes or possibilities we can have that model for Billy? If not no worries just throwing it out there. Cheers guys!
I'm not having one problem so far. He talks, he rolls, he kills everything in sight, he relates a beautiful story about a goldfish. I've had problems with this mod in the past but I also had a lot of mods installed back then as well.
If I run into any problems this time I'll update but as far as I can tell, this mod runs as intended with no issues. Using the latest version, V-666.2
He is flat silent no matter the order I put Billy in my mod manager. I've tried both reinstalling via FOMOD and manually, but issue still persists. Any tip to fix this? I'm not used to modding tools btw
Amazing mod, and works perfectly But I'd like to ask if you're ever going to make a Billy mod for fallout 4, maybe being compatible with the assaultron DLC so we can give him more tools of his violent trade
