To everyone still trying to get XRE working: I suggest don't because not only is the mod buggy for the past 10 years but there has been no input nor updates from the author and should be considered obsolete. However there is a solution for The Frontier without the majority of The Frontier infecting your computer with 30GB of crap.
aynone here have any idea on how to make this standalone mod compatible with other mods depending on it? I found this comment on the KnightRaven video "If you'd like to get other car mods that "require" the Frontier (such as Highwayman or Cars in the Capital) to work, just rename the plugin to "The Frontier" and convert it into an ESM in FNVEdit.", but I am new to fnv edit so I need a more detailed guide
Usually, there's supposed to be stops to fuel/repair your car, but there's an issue with mine since the stops have error symbols displayed everywhere and I have no Idea what to do so I'm asking for some help to solve this issue cheers.
I... Have a really strange issue, and I followed the steps to install to the T.... There are TWO copies of every single car in the world, one is functional, the other is a duplicate.... Could this be caused by generating lod or something??? I don't know what the hell I'm doin'. lol (help)
it should be, but honestly this is such an old mod that i would go to something else. dont get me wrong, ermeso did a fantastic job, but these days its really outdated
I spent hours trying for this mod to work, I've read like a dozen of instalation tutorials and related posts, but no matter what load order I go with it always pops up the " XRE esp wasnt loaded". I am done.
I think this mod fucked up my physics in the game cause when I use Just Bullet Time, the slowmotion ends up looking like 10 fps after I downloaded this mod. Even after uninstalling it, it's still lingering.
Edit: Yes this mod is the culprit. I got ragdolled too high and ended up all the way up on the sky and fell back down just to die from the fall. This mod mentions that bug and is the reason now my game is fucked. Thanks mod author. Is there a way to revert that back to the way it was? Starting a new game didnt help, loading a previous save didn't either.
Edit 2: Followed the uninstall instructions and still not working. Physics are still fucked and Just Bullet Time is still acting like I am running 10fps when activated. At this point, not sure what to do anymore.
Edit 3: EVERYONE for the love of God do NOT download this mod. This mod for some reason overwritten something in my game because this mod requires itself to overwrite the physics and for some fucking reason, it just completely fucked up my game. Tried to reinstall my game, view integrity of files, reinstall my mods and tested to make sure it works but now I cant go outside anywhere as it crashes my game. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR GAME!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD!!!!
I know it's probably too late but just in case, it sounds possibly like the auto save bug.
You could try: -disable auto saves in gameplay settings -test if you can exit the building in your troubled save.
If you can't, Idk what's up
if you can and your save file is loaded from a hard save, then skip this paragraph. - If you can and your save file is loaded from an autosave; -quit game and copy/paste the auto save files from my document/my games/falloutnv/saves to a safe folder. (only necessary if the save file you want to 'fix' is an autosave)
Create a new game, enable autosaves and exit doc Mitchell's; -if you can't exit with autosaves on then its probably the save mechanic that's broken. (which a re-install then verify integ should've fixed) -if you can exit safely with autosaves on then it's most likely the save file itself that is bugged
to attempt a fix; -if you have an autosave file that is the problem, quit game and restore that back in the my docs>saves folder, relaunch -turn autosave features back off again -load a really old save (modded or not. also it doesn't matter if it's a whole different character) -save that game as a new save file (do not overwrite/quicksave) -load the troubled save and save that as a new save file (same as above)
if that didn't work try loading two old saves and make sperate saves in each then load the troubled save and hard save again. and/or try this program and repeat from 'to attempt a fix' ; https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/80833?tab=description
if it worked and you saved the troubled game save through a hard save; -quit game -relaunch -press load and load new the hard save to see if it works still and you can load it.
if it all still works then congrats!,
warning, bugged saves could potentially have bugged quests and dialogues. trying to recover saves like this isn't entirely recommended, but the alternative is abandoning the save. if you are able to use the ~ console comfortably there are workarounds for most issues you might come across
to avoid bugged saves; -avoid quicksaves and vanilla autosaves -allow 10 seconds to pass while in the main menu before loading saves -avoid the continue button on the main menu (Stewie's tweaks has an option to disable this) -use load game instead -install any popular working autosave mod (I use CASM and Stewie's Auto-save Manager)
some mods still cause save game bugs for me but this process works well enough.
If anymore is insisting on using this decade old mod and having trouble with the "enable and quit" bug, it's because of the ragdoll mod. Go to data/config/ragdolls and find ragdollsettings.ini and edit the iLandFriction to 0.4000. Note that this mod is almost a decade old so even if you get it working, you're not gonna like how it handles. Still, it was one of the best mods a long time ago and I will not forget the hours spent on this mod. Cheers.
I tried for hours to get it to work, followed the instructions perfectly, still got the same pop up saying it wasnt loaded, cars spawning straight up and down, not working. So i gave up, and uninstalled the mod only to find a new pop up saying the mod has been installed successfully as soon as i load into the game, after deleting it.

Also thanks for the link.

It seems to have less content and just generally less effort put into it compared to XRE Cars.
