so ive used this mod before, and ive never had this problem. but ive recently started a new moddoed playthru, and this mod will not work no matter what i do, i get an error msg about hud extensions not being installed, i have darnui installed and it works fine, and it tell me to look at an "owners manual" i cant find anything of the sort anywhere.
What might have happened is I included the wrong info.xml in the file. NMM uses a different format. The actual error message would be useful, but if it says anything about xml in it, then just delete that file from the fomod and try again.
Dunno what an xml is, cause I live under a rock. But the exact message is as follows:

and a box opens, telling me the mod was not installed. I checked the install info and was given a bunch of computer language I can't make sense of.
Because I don't want anyone replying to you spoiling the location, I'll just point out that in the downloads section there is an optional file that tells you the location. So you know, maybe look at that?
Hey Gribble, it would be kinda stupid, but can you adaptate ammo-switching script to other authors' mods? I mean, would you share this script with modmakers, who deals with weapons...
I really have loved this mod. I was confused about it at first, every trigger pull would only fire a single shot regardless if it was held, but cycling to the next ammo type fixed that, I've loved it ever since.
I am making this post to ask if you've considered something of a similar concept for explosive ammunition, the 25mm, 40mm rockets and missiles? If it is asking too much I won't press it and will see about making one of my own for personal use, using the scripting of the Vera as a guide. If you have another mod that already does this suggestion, I apologize for missing it.
I want to do that, but I've yet to find a suitable weapon model, and while I'll make a gun that shoots all the ammo like this, I will not have it just firing 25mm or 40mm grenades, that goes beyond my plausibility clause.
True, plausibility would go out the window with a launcher variant. Still, I love the mod for what it offers and I'll just have to carry around a Grenade Launcher for when I need things to go boom. And I know energy weapons would make even less sense as all ammo-types for them are just batteries.
I've actually thought about making a weapon using this system that would be based on the rifles in Old Man's War which use a block of nanobots as ammo. The ammo, in this case, would be just a dummy item that subtracts from a unified resource, and changes the projectile of the weapon. I'm not sure if the mod would require a bit of retooling to allow it to subtract a unified ammo, but otherwise the rest of it is in place for swapping ammo types to projectiles and what-not.
The best candidate for a launcher type would be a shoulder mounted gun of some type. The real problem is the 40mm grenades, as they're significantly larger than 25mm or the Red Glare rockets. And that's what it'd be, you could shoot grenades or Red Glare rockets (in smaller numbers per clip). Missiles are out due to size.
That would be a very interesting concept, and I'm sure there are others besides myself that would love to see it work. one possibility is a brand new set of ammo to replace the existing ones, combined with the scripting you used in Vera. It would be more of a conversion mod at that point, allowing conventional ammo to be changed into the nano-tech ammo of the same type while keeping it within the respective ammo-pool. But that's about as far as I can think of something like that being done easily.

You don't see assault rifles switching between 5.56, 12 gauge, and .50 explosive that often.
