Recently came back to Morrowind and tried this mod again with a better understanding of file placement. Have it working pretty good now. Random question...Any chance of a patch being created to work with Morrowind Rebirth? There are a few collisions happening with a couple of buildings with both mods running.
Looks very nice. Minor quibble is having coconut trees on the "beachfront" facing Vivec as they seem a bit out of place for the region. Regardless, thanks for the update and quick fixes!
Glad you like it anyway and hopefully can enjoy it. If I were to make this mod today I may forgo the palms as well, tastes change... But think of it this way, the idea behind it was an Estate of a well traveled adventurer that loved to plant his garden with things he found on his travels. The palms were not intended to look "native" ;)
It's all good and I do realise it's one of your older mods. Looking forward to the others on a dusty hard drive platter somewhere. An given that search functionality is still broken on MW Modhistory it's great that you've put it up here and if there are other mods you have there it might be good idea to bring them here. Thank you!
Glad its working for you, I have not been to MM Histoy in awhile, so did not know about the broken search function. I have pretty much ported all my Morrowind mods here as well, in fact posted them on Mod History at about the same time. If you click on my name here you can find the page with all my mod files. Some are packaged better than this one was so hopefully there is no repeat of missing textures. This mod I really made for myself at the time and published it much later because I know it is a bit eclectic.
Really nice house, but there are a lot of missing textures (for example orange.dds, banana2.dds, banana3.dds, bananaleaf2.dds and others). I'm not able to find those textures somewhere online or in another mod.
I also had missing meshes, but moving them out of their subfolder into the meshes folder fixed that, like ellipsisgamer said.
Hi, sorry about the hassle you experienced; just making sure that I understand you, did moving all files from sub to data folder solve the problem entirely, or are you still missing the textures you have listed? I have not worked wit Morrowind mods in a long time, but I will try and fix this if I can.
Moving the meshes from subfolders in Meshes to Meshes solved the problem with them. One example: cp Meshes/Fruit trees/* Meshes/. But one mesh must be moved to a new subfolder: meshes\ko beds\ko_purple_silk.nif
The textures are another thing. The following textures are not in the mod archive (I included the error message):
Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/palm tree.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/tx_haypile_01.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/bark.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/orange.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/bark 2.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/banana3.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/banana2.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/bananaleaf2.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/tx_bathtowel_01.dds' not found Failed to open image: Resource 'textures/ko_shell_pillow.dds' not found
I'm not sure, if the haypile is part of this Mod, but the rest is. And I can't find them in any of the subfolders. At the moment, all tree trunks added by this mod are colored in a nice pink. And the leafes are flat green. The list above may not be complete. Would be great if you could either add the textures to the archive or make it possible to download them somewhere.
Thank you for the detailed report, I will dig around and see that I can find them and then upload them. Very sorry about this, back in the day I made mistakes packaging this mod for lack of experience and now I know that it worked well for me because many of the textures were also used by other mods. I will try and hunt them down...
Sorry but that is unlikely caused by this mod, I can see Morrowind crashing to desk top if all files were not loaded properly, but actually crashing your PC? I don't see how and such was never reported before. Hope you can figure it out.
Thanks to Darkelfguy for the awesome video featuring this home, although the version in the video is an older version that does not have some features of the latest like the Lighthouse, while others (the underground pool hall) were removed in the last version posted here.
Had the same issues as Ellipsisgamer. Pulled all files out of their folders and placed the directly into the mesh folder and still have the same error messages. Am I missing a step somewhere? Looks like an excellent mod so I don't want to give up on getting it to run properly.
When you moved the custom meshes into the mesh folder did you keep them in their individual folders like "fruit trees", "Lighthouse" etc? Its been awhile since I worked with my Morrowind mods but I am pretty sure I placed those individual folders into the Meshes folder.
I did that the first time I tried to get the mod running. Kept getting errors so i tried again with pulling out each individual mesh, texture, etc. and placing them into their respective folders. Still got error messages. I get the feeling its user error on my part but I'm unsure of where I'm going wrong.
I am sorry this is such a pain, if I am reading Elipsisgamers comment correctly then he got it working by placing the actual mesh folders directly into the mesh folder without the sub folders; try that if you have not already, otherwise I am not sure what else to suggest. Good luck

The Data Files Folder is missing the textures associated with the Orange Tree and Banana Tree

No more error messages and pink trees when entering the cell.

Good luck
Edit: Never mind. I pulled them out of their folders and placed them directly into the mesh folder. Looks great now. Nice mod.
