Oblivion uses billbords & .Spt files for useing the speedtree option. But you can convert the Nif's to use them in oblivion but than you have to hand place each tree.
I really wouldn't mind getting a "new trees" mod, but I'm mostly worried about the meshes either not being in the spirit of the originals, or they are mis-sized and end up floating in the air or sunk too far in the ground. Any thoughts?
