Version 2021.14.1
- Improve Tali and Legion's default armor
- Backported fix with galaxy map transparency from LE
- Fix blurry fonts
- Fix tint on default N7 armor
- Fix the colour of Samara's head piece in her default armour
-
Version 2021.14.0
- - Ported several hundred textures from the Legendary Edition (LE) to the Original Trilogy (OT)
- - LE textures are only used as replacements of existing ALOT textures for now, and only if existing ALOT textures are inferior to LE. Future updates might expand the list of textures a bit, but memory limits for the OT are still there, so I need to be careful.
- - Textures included for now: environments, armours, weapons, some squadmates, skyboxes, ...
- - I removed most of the addons and replaced them by LE textures. This should make the installation of ALOT a lot less troublesome.
- Improved warning signs textures (ClearanceClarence)
-
Version 2021.12.1
- [FIXES]
- Miranda's eyelids slightly glowed, no more (Jenya)
- Some Turian jaws were missing markings
- Fixed a vanilla bug whereby a shadow could be seen on the ground of the engineering bay, without anything to cast it. The shadow was removed
- [NEW TEXTURES]
- Mercenary armours (ClearanceClarence)
- Fenris, Loki, Ymir robots (ClearenceClarence)
- Normandy decal (ClearanceClarence)
- Cerberus Dropship exterior and interior
- Vegetation background for Zaeed's loyalty mission
- Kitchens
- David Archer
- Some rocks and concrete walls
- Kasumi's lockpick tool
- Warning signs
- Boxes
-
Version 2021.12.0
- The goal of this update is to polish the already excellent state of ALOT and to fix any remaining bugs or inconsistencies. There's really little left to work on now. Many thanks to the users who helped point out missing textures and helped testing the new textures (cristi1990an, Dwailing, Hadrorex, InfinityBeing, Nukleon, Paragon, ScifiIsMyJam101, STEVE HARVEY).
- [ALL]
- ALOT Installer has been updated to version 4. All credit goes to Mgamerz.
- Reworked GUI for better usability
- Better integration of ALOV into ALOT
- Support for standalone installation of mods, without ALOT
- Maaaany small improvements and optimisations, mostly in the backend
- [ME2]
- Added new textures that were still missing in ALOT: weapon textures (Cain and Black Widow), Turian NPCs, Bray's armour, Vorcha NPCs, Krogan NPCs, large computers, VI and Avina, Omega matte background, torture chair, cubemaps (reflections) in Citadel doors, cubemaps in Normandy monitors, a bunch of chairs, drop ship textures, armor locker normal map, geth turret and armature, a few computers and lamps
- Fixed a vanilla bug whereby some Turians displayed weird jaw colouring (bartender for example)
- Fixed TIM's suit being too dark
-
Version 2020.11.1
- Fixed grey eyes for certain characters
- Fixed weird shimmering on some of the Normandy's walls
-
Version 2020.11
- Fixed graphical glitch on visors.
- [NEW]
- New textures for ALL faces, scalp and hair textures. Powered by AI, but manually tweaked to remove any seams and get the best possible quality
- New textures for the Mako
- New textures for all gunships
- New textures for all ammo cases
- New texture for Vasir by ClearanceClarence
- [IMPROVED]
- Major improvement of facial hair (eyebrows, eyelashes, beards) by JimbobJeffers. Should look closer to vanilla now
- New AI models have enabled large improvements over many old textures. I've only scratched the surface of what's possible, more is coming.
- Improved ~50 normal maps for better detail and less artefacting due to compression of the textures. This includes objects like conduits on the Normandy, the pilot seat and many miscellaneous items
- Removed lights on Quarian armour (including Tali and Multiplayer) to be more in line with vanilla. An optional file has been uploaded that restores the lights
- Improved the holograms on Omega
- Improved all textures of the Normandy's outside
- Improved some stone wall textures in the Citadel appartment, by ClearanceClarence
- [FIXED]
- Downscaled all 4K normal maps to 2K. This won't reduce quality, since the engine is by design only able to load up to 2K normal maps for 4K diffuse maps. This, along with new optimisations to the EGM and Project Variety mods should resolve all crashes due to the 3.5GB memory limitation.
- Fixed vanilla bug on the Mako's normal map. The Mako uses 2 overlapped normal maps, one of them used the wrong UV, causing weird bumps where there shouldn't be. Credit to Mellin for the fix.
- Better specular map Thane and Feron, should fix the weird eye shadow they currently have
- Fix for the Rachni queen's glowing effect (specular map)
- Fixed market stall glow
- [ADDONS]
- Added ALOV to the Installer. Only the 1080p version is there, the 4K version would have to be installed manually.
- Removed 4 addons that were rendered obsolete by the new hair and scalp textures.
-
Version 2020.10.0
- [OPTIONAL]
- Completely new, massive overhaul of the game's static lighting textures. This improves the game's pre-rendered lights and shadows (lamps, shadows under objects...). 14,000 textures in total across all 3 games of the trilogy. Don't let the file size scare you, any computer will be able to run it just fine, it's not costly in terms of performance.
- [NEW]
- - New 4K textures for all of Shepard's N7 armors in ME2 and ME3
- - 200 environment textures (rocks, grass, wood, snow, sand...) were upscaled 4x by JimbobJeffers and CreeperLava
- - High resolution textures for facial hair (beards, eyebrows) by JimbobJeffers
- - 4K textures for the squad selection screen
- - 4K sky textures
- - 4K mercenary armors

- Added ClearanceClarence's textures : Omega asteroid and Collector armor
- Replaced Miranda textures with JimbobJeffers's
-
Version 2019.7.0
- Bit early for a 2019 release, but there's probably not going to be one at the beginning of the year, and I don't want to make you wait just to have a beautiful 2019 in my version number. So there you go.
Not a huge release, but still some very welcome additions, and a bugfix !
[INSTALLER]
The installer has been merged with the textures download. It is now sufficiently stable and its autoupdate feature means it is unnecessary to separate the downloads. You can still download it separately from Mgamerz' github page : https://github.com/Mgamerz/AlotAddOnGUI/releases
[TEXTURES]
- Removed aurora texture, since it causes problems when upscaled (Illusive Man / sun background)
- Added MaryseDynasty's Quarian textures
- Added MaryseDynasty's Aria textures
- Added hologram textures by Darziak
- Added Volus textures !!
- Bit early for a 2019 release, but there's probably not going to be one at the beginning of the year, and I don't want to make you wait just to have a beautiful 2019 in my version number. So there you go.
-

- Added shifty cow textures by CreeperLava
- Added medic outfit texture
- Total ~100 textures added or modified
-
Version 2018.6.7
- Fixed a seam with Jack's face.
- Added CDAMJC's FemShep faces.
-
Version 2018.6.6
- Changes made in MEUITM's latest update were propagated to ALOT (concerns faces, armour).
- Readded heleuss' face and hair textures to the Installer, to replace the rest of the CDAMJC faces, that create face seams. These textures are optional since they're not perfectly vanilla-friendly.
-
Version 2018.6.5
- Reverted some more textures I previously forgot. I'm working on a real fix.
-
Version 2018.6.4
- Temporarily reverted some of the face textures to vanilla to avoid face seams. They will be restored in time, after CDAMJC releases his MEUITM update.
-
Version 2018.6.3
- Fixed Liara's darker face tone. It is closer to vanilla now.
-
Version 2018.6.2
- Fixed a bug whereby Windows would refuse to use DLLs because they come from the internet...
-
Version 2018.6.1
- Fixed a weird bug whereby Windows couldn't extract his own zip format.
-

-
Version 2017.5.2
- - Readded JimbobJeffer's Holograms mod to the main ALOT package.
- Updated the addon with Ellise's face tweaks and Heleuss' face textures (there is no overlap). - Major changes to the addon in preparation for version 2018.
- - Readded JimbobJeffer's Holograms mod to the main ALOT package.
-
Version 2017.5.1
- - Added ThinkBlueN7's Turian (Garrus included), Salarian and Quarian new textures, from Alien Aliens.
- Fixed some of the environment textures I made in 2017.5. Should resolve the black texture issue.
- - Added ThinkBlueN7's Turian (Garrus included), Salarian and Quarian new textures, from Alien Aliens.
-
Version 2017.5.0
- This is a major release mainly so that everyone uses the new version of MEM.
- Updated MEM to v167. The format of the texture scan file has changed in this version to fix some issues. If you had already installed ALOT, you need to revert ME2 to vanilla and reinstall everything.
- Added something like 50 new environment textures (mainly walls) by myself, CreeperLava
- Fixed an inconsistency between spec and diff on the Terminus armor
- Fixed an inconsistency between Samara's face and body textures - ALOT is now using a versioning system (Boar). This doesn't change anything on your side, it's all in the background. It means the textures are tracked much more professionally between updates, and are easier to revert in case of regressions.
- This is a major release mainly so that everyone uses the new version of MEM.
-
Version 2017.4.3
- Added 88 new textures, mainly on the Normandy and the Citadel.
-
Version 2017.4.2
- Fixed some fonts that looked too sharp. Turns out having higher resolution is not a good thing for fonts.
-
Version 2017.4.1
- Re-added some textures I forgot in the main 4.0 update, from previous version 3.5.
- Added some more textures from MEUITM, that weren't known to be portable before.
- Added a hologram texture made by Mgamerz.
- Redone some of the Normandy textures, that you can see on Illium. Should be less blurry now.
-
Version 2017.4.0
- New textures for Jack's face.
New textures for Garrus' visor and some holograms.
New texture for the butterfly fish in the aquarium.
Updated MEM to v159 (now with auto update)
- New textures for Jack's face.
-
Version 2017.3.5
- Not much to write, despite the quantity of changes.
[ALOT]
82 new textures, generously contributed by AlvaroMe and mylastsong18.
These cover the Normandy environment textures (AlvaroMe), as well as holograms and fonts (mylastsong18).
[ADDON]
Brand new interface for the addon, brought to you by the author of "ME3 Mod Manager", Mgamerz. Beautiful and functional UI, no more batch file shenanigans.
- Not much to write, despite the quantity of changes.
-
Version 2017.3.4
- Updated MEM in the addon (better DXT1 conversion quality). If you've already installed it, no need to update, unless you really care about the minor quality improvement.
-
Version 2017.3.3
- Another very minor fix for the addon.
-
Version 2017.3.2
- Minor fixes to the addon. Updated MEM to v117, among other things.
-
Version 2017.3.1
- Updated the optional Addon to include MEM 1.116, which adds autofix and bulk TPF extraction functionalities. The installation of the addon feels less like a hack now :). The installation should be faster and more stable. Nothing else has been changed, so no need to update if you already have the addon installed.
-
Version 2017.3.0
- MEM Updated (aquadran).
- Removal of JimbobJeffer's textures, at his request. His textures will be redone, and made available on his Nexus account. Expect their inclusion in the addon as soon as they are available.
- To anticipate your questions : no, I don't want to give any details ; no, sending Jimbob hateful PMs won't change anything (please don't do that) ; we're still in great terms and will continue to work together, in a different way.
-
Version 2017.2.0
- "Major" update as in new full release (merges all previous updates), with updated MEM included, to reduce user error.
- Not many changes apart from that. If you already have A.L.O.T installed, no need to update.
- Changelogs between version 2017 and 2017.2.0 moved here for clarity : https://github.com/CreeperLava/MassEffectTextureMapper/blob/master/oldChangelogME2.md
-
Version 2017
- Version 2017 is a complete overhaul of ALOT. Too many changes to list individually :).
[Textures]
- We created an exhaustive database of "portable" (ie identical) textures between the 3 Mass Effect games. This means comparing through various means about 44 000 textures.
- Bioware downscaled many textures and upscaled others throughout the development of the 3 games (eg a texture could be 1024px in ME1, 512px in ME2, 256px in ME3). We normalized the textures (same, highest resolution everywhere).
- We compared each ALOT texture to its highest resolution vanilla counterpart. We removed all non vanilla-friendly textures and fixed many bugs.
- We made plenty of new textures. More to come in the next updates :).
[Installation]
- Switch from ME3Explorer to the much newer, faster and stable MassEffectModder (MEM).
- Installation of ALOT has been simplified thanks to an installer made for us by the MEM author.
- Installation should now take less than an hour on any computer. Much less than that on SSD.
- MEM takes care automatically of INI settings.
- No more DDS version. 7z version has been changed to MEM format. The DDS' can still be extracted from the MEM version, using MEM.
- No more torrents. The simplification of the setup means it is now viable for me to upload each version. Also, improvements on Nexus' side for upload of big files.

- Added a new snow texture (0xF28F4992, 0x6AA1C617).
- Enhanced the existing Geth texture, which wasn't very consistent with the vanilla texture (0x9A265AFB, 0x54DECDB9).
- Enhanced the Krogan armor, to be more consistent with vanilla (fix provided by AlvaroMe).
-
Version 2.5.9
- Upscaled 4 new textures : 0x8A99A187 0x69E9A01A 0x9665E158 0xE0D82D71
-
Version 2.5.8
- Vanilla'd 2 armor norms, which didn't match the rest of the textures (the others were Ottemis', they were removed a while ago). List : 0x4AC51C1F 0xCD94E8AB
- Fixed Samara's face norm (0x32BE4F13).
- Fixed Tali's spec maps (0xD1A5907F, 0xF9EDDE8C). For the long explanation, see bug report "Tali glowing edges of texture".
-
Version 2.5.7
- Downscaled one of the star textures (0xFCCCBE5F) from 4096 to 1024 (vanilla size). It was too detailed for the game (...), and caused flickering in the Illusive Man's cinematics.
-
Version 2.5.6
- Fixes many bad norms (UV channels were swapped). Provided by AlvaroMe, thanks ! List of the textures that were modified : http://pastebin.ca/3735845

- Improved Tali's norms (Alvaro). List : 0x3AF35864, 0xA1ED7C19
-
Version 2.5.4
- Upscaled the Terminus armor to 4k (0x976210A9).

-
Version 2.5
- - Removed Ottemis' textures from ALOT, as requested by her. List of textures removed : http://pastebin.ca/3707382 . If you still want to use them (I recommend it, they're really nice), you'll have to manually download Ottemis' mods from Nexus, then extract the textures from the TPFs, and cross check which ones I used in ALOT. I can't do anything more about it, sorry.
- Removed 0x385531BA (unupscaleable). Removed 0x901157E4 (same size as vanilla).
- Vanilla'd 0xE4FE533C to fix Garrus visor's texture.
- Included all previous patches. - Apparently Ottemis received hate messages since revoking permission for her textures. The decision has been made, and hating on her won't bring anything. She isn't the one at fault here, the mods are hers, she has the right to do anything she wants with them. For now, it can only be hoped that she will upload these textures as her own mod in the future. Negative messages certainly won't encourage her to do so, please consider it and avoid this childish behaviour.

- Includes all previous bugfixes.
- Swapped Mordin's normal map for the default and alternative armors (0x1F1248ED and 0xC4352C8B).
- Removed the Cerberus logo from 0x403C61E2, it had nothing to do on this texture. Thanks eezonaut for providing the fixed texture.
-
Version 2.3.1
- Fixed the Kestral Armor (0xC2B995EF). A norm was used instead of a spec for the legs.
- Fixed the starfield texture (0x8375FA8F), it should now be tileable.
- Fixed the Terminus armor's spec maps (0x19E60797 and 0x943FE6E4). ME3's were in use, I rollbacked to ME2's, since the format's aren't compatible.
-
Version 2.3
- Again, a lot of bugfixes. Also, new mods !
Additions.
- Jaroth's Armor mod by MaryseDynasty.
- Better Galaxy Textures by CreeperLava (that's me).
- Discovered a bunch of unused high resolution (2k) textures hidden in the ME2 game files. These were apparently used for promotional screenshots, and haven't been downscaled like the others. I replaced the classic textures with them where possible.
Fixes.
- Includes all previous updates.
- Regenerated ALL MIPMaps to make use of the enhanced MIP generation algorithms of ME3Explorer 2.0.
- General standardization, removal of bad looking textures, replacement of others, minor additions and fixes, etc... Too many to list exhaustively, quite frankly (150+ changes). I'll list some of the changes below.
- Loads of fixes on the armor's Strip textures. ME3 uses the red channel for these, whereas ME2 doesn't. Thus, I removed the red channel for ME2's Strip texture that were ported from ME3.
- Tali's face should be less visible now, like in vanilla. Also, updated her textures to JeanLuc's latest version (no idea how I missed that).
See the bug section for more details.

-

Removals.
- Removed a brow texture that looked out of place (hash 0x56205C7C)
- Removed plates and tray textures that looked out of place while being the same size as vanilla (hashes 0xA561D987, 0xC17831F4, 0x7C81E144, 0x19F79152)
- Removed 2 Bend_Norm textures that strayed too far from vanilla (hashes 0x1505FC7C, 0xD5C4ED03)
- Removed black Datapad01_Screen (hash 0x6B276BA0) texture. This texture was a bugfix for ME3, and is unneeded in ME2.
Updates.
- Fixed Joker face (hash 0x839A01CB) by replacing the modded alpha by an upscale of the vanilla one. This texture was ported from ME1.
- Added 2 Bend_Norm textures. There are 6 of those in ME2 (don't ask), 3 of which are identical (...) but with different sizes and hashes. Thus, I upscaled 0x1505FC7C and 0x73027F0D with a copy of 0x720EA91E.
- Fixed the eyes of the Vorcha not displaying by modifying the alpha (hash 0x5FC0EE54)
- Fixed (?) possible issue with Tali's outfit by replacing 2.1 textures with original textures from JeanLuc.
- A good amount of bugfixes :
-
Version 2.1.1
- Temporary fix by Alvaro.
- Replaces following textures with their vanilla counterparts :
0x73027F0D --> Bend_Norm
0x7C5C79BD --> Binders01_Diff
0x182C29DB --> Binders01_Norm
0xBC5048CE --> BooksSet01_Norm
0x0C563109 --> PaperPile_Set_Norm
0x6B276BA0 --> Datapad01_Screen
0x25974BC3 --> Kettle_Thermos01_Msk3
0x5ED6E094 --> ChairReclining01_Msk3
0x41DFE46F --> ChairUtility01_Worn_Msk3
0xBC82E5BD --> Nor_Norm
0x8D87AF68 --> Plant01_Diff
0x329E68B6 --> Plant01_DiffPlant01
- Downscales following textures to vanilla size :
0x8DCB8426 --> CoffeeMaker01_Emis
0xC7DE7033 --> WaterCooler_Msk3
A proper fix will come in 2 weeks at most. I will add the high-res textures to the Aquarium TPF, so that no high-res goodness is lost.
- Temporary fix by Alvaro.
-
Version 2.1
- Removed 0xCF0810CD, that would cause graphical issues. You don't need to redownload everything, only the Squad pack.
- Placed 0xCF0810CD in the Aquarium TPF.
- Updated torrent links, mirrors and MD5 hashes.
-
Version 2.0
- Massive update :
- Ported 373 textures from ALOT ME3 and MEUITM to ALOT ME2.
Basically, there are A LOT of textures that are strictly identical between the 3 games, and thus texture mods can often be used in more than one game, with just a bit of tweaking.
General cleanup :
- Includes all bugfixes from 1.5.6
- Removed 0x5D2725D5, 0xE5100929, 0x171B6F9A, 0x4A1283F8, 0x8BF84879 (Star Trek consoles that just don't look right)
- Removed 0x7EE85592 and 0xFF48AA3F, that were the same size as vanilla.
- Removed buggy 0x1CED8B2E (entirely black hair texture)
- Removed 0xE07C5310 and 0x2C0A611F, quarian retexture that strays too far from vanilla.
- Placed 0xE224ED25 in the Aquarium TPF (GUI texture that can't be upscaled)
- Fixed HMF_ARM_CTHh_Nor_Diff_Stack (0x8A5CB7F3) and HMF_ARM_CTHh_Nor_SPwr_Stack (0xC871165B) to not display 'Chief Medical Officer' on the shoulders, since the outfit is used both by Dr Chakwas and Shepard.
Misc :
- Updated mirrors, torrent links and MD5 hashes.
- Massive update :
-
Version 1.5.6
- Nothing changed, I just recompressed the update using 7z LZMA2 instead of Bzip2. Looks like some older versions of 7z aren't compatible with it.
-

- Fixed Life Support Webbing and Heavy Damping Gauntlets (0x0E40115B and 0xFBFF60DD). Thanks Casober for the hashes.
-

- Fixes Tali armor.
-
Version 1.5.2
- Also vanilla'd 0x5D2725D5
-
Version 1.5.1
- Added 2 vanilla textures that will overwrite the currently buggy ones. These belong to the Aquarium TPF, but that will be done later. Thanks Alvaro.
-
Version 1.5
- Fixed MIPs for 0xDC9A3469
- Updated torrent links, mirrors and MD5 hashes.
-
Version 1.4
- Fixed Garrus AAP Armor (hashes 0x638AAD1C and 0xDC9A3469).
- Converted a wrongly formatted texture from ARGB to DXT5 (hash 0x09C8641C)
- Fixed Blue Suns Armor lacking blue layer (hashes 0x3B1F21AB, 0x482F9C28)
- Placed NOR10_CONTROLPANNEL01_DIFF (hash 0x8BF84879) in the Aquarium TPF
- Fixed facial texture seams by adding hair textures designed by the one and only CDAMJC

-
Version 1.3.4
- Fixed MIPs for 0x09C8641C 0x37EBEE58 0x66453D73 0x9A1EB56F 0xAE4CB759 0xB1D55360 0xCE6A8AFC 0xCFBA92C3 0xE5224E76. Thanks saltare for providing the fix.
-
Version 1.3.3
- Hopefully fixed Wall01_Diff (hash 0x14321757)
-
Version 1.3.2
- Fixed Squad armors being all buggy : 0xB1D55360, 0x37EBEE58, 0xAE4CB759, 0xCFBA92C3, 0xCE6A8AFC, 0x9A1EB56F, 0xE5224E76, 0x66453D73, 0x09C8641C
- Fixed Normandy walls being all buggy : 0x14321757
- Fixed about 60 textures that simply had the wrong hashes (probably due to the port of textures from ME1 and ME3 to ME2). Replaced them with correct textures from Ottemis' mods.
- For the curious ones, almost all the problems were due to alphas that were entirely white (= opaque). No idea how that happened. Should be mostly fixed now.
- Includes 1.3.1
- AlvaroMe deserves a big thank you for this update, I wouldn't have been able to get it out this rapidly without his help. Thanks !
-
Version 1.3.1
- Added 5 textures for Wasea's Armor, by MaryseDynasty

- Fixed Mordin, Legion, Grunt, Garrus, Shepard N7 (too many hashes to list : 43 textures fixed).

-
Version 1.0.1
- Minor change to the torrents, the name of the folder where ALOT is downloaded will now be 'ALOT for ME2' instead of 'ALOT', to avoid merging the download with ALOT for ME3 for those who already have it.
