Win10 users, be sure to have the newest graphics driver and apply the DX9 final release(listed at bottom of mod). Rename the DXGI.DLL to D3D11.DLL.

I installed the ENB version and then updated the two text files with the optional "updated preset" versions. The installation was simple and to the point. I already have ALOT installed but I saw no reason why this shouldn't work even though ALOT always recommends it be installed last -- this overwrites no files and I cannot imagine how these video processing and/or post-processing instructions would conflict with modded texture files.
I don't know if it's placebo (I don't think so) -- but wow does this make a difference. The visuals really pop now. Crisp, bright and clean. I did have to increase my brightness settings by one or two increments.
Also, it's running rock-steady at my monitor's default refresh rate (60 Hz) on my mid-end system and video card.
I couldn't endorse this fast enough.
Edit: was glancing at the videos and was made aware of the on-off toggle using the "pause/break" button on the keyboard. The improvement is not a "placebo," that's for sure. Not only are lighting and coloration more vibrant, but even bump effects on the textures are more pronounced and "tactile."
Just picked up the LE version. I'll try to get one made. Alternatively you can use the fo4 one with MA1/2/3 LE Link is here https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22029 They are interchange-able so it should work if you place it in the game folder with the game.exe.
They will work together. Check the optional downloads, the mixed one is there. If you use an amd let me know and I can help with an alternate method that may work for amd.
Hi, can you elaborate on the alternate method for amd users? Also, does it matter if you downloaded ENB and reshade seperately and put them together? cause i downloaded the ENB and installed it but i dont really know what are the original files cause i cant tell if it overwritten anything that shouldnt be deleted
What you have todo, is install the reshade with sweetfx version and run the game to see if it's working. If so, then rename the d3d9.dll to d3d9_SweetFX.dll
After download the ENB with Sweetfx version, take the enbseries.ini and d3d9.dll from the download and add it to your gamefolders with the reshade and sweetfx files. Test the game again and see if both are now running at the game start.
Hi, I actually havn't tried the legendary version yet, but since everything is based off the original game, I'd expect just placing the files the same way as with the normal version will work. Just place them in the new game folders location in its binary folder and test the game. If its not running, let me know and I will provide an alternative that should work. Unless they upgraded the directx version it uses, then the mod should work for both the old and new.
Anyone playing ME2 immediately after playing the first game with ALOT might have noticed how washed out the colors are. Thank you for this enb. It gives ME2 the vibrance the first game has.
Does this mod also require the ME2inifixer? Or if i only want to download the ME2graphicstweak mod do i need the NVIDIA OPTIMUS D3D9 DLL FIX for it to work? Sorry if this question is awkwardly phrased but i guess my question is how compatible are these mods with each other? I'm mainly just interested in being able to disable the DOF.
Hi, you won't need the ME2inifixer. The Optimus fix isn't required for it to work with the me2graphics tweak, that's mainly for troubleshooting the mod by itself. The me2 graphics tweak can be used on it's own or in combination with this mod. It doesn't require any special setups, it's just basically an optimized ini for the game. It's the same file you would make the DOF change to, but it's already been done in that file. If you just want to do the DOF change yourself, then you can leave that file out, although it does help. And as far as compatibility, I haven't had any issues between the two.
Thank you for the quick response! And just so i got this right, does this mod require the ME2graphicstweak if i want to disable the DOF or is that already included in your mod?
Hi, It doesn't require the ME2 Graphics tweak, but if you don't use it, then you have to make the DOF change to the original file yourself. If you change the file with the ME2 Graphics tweak file, then it has that change already made in the file, but you can still make manual changes to that file too.
Installing it was very easy! However i'm not really seeing that much difference after i have changed my settings. I'm trying to make the shadows less intense and dark (I have a shep with a darker skin tone and it's hard to see their face when they're in shadows) I changed the settings for define USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING to 0 but i'm not seeing any changes. I'm most likely just missing something but im not sure what. Settings like the splitscreen option works fine but contrast and Cineon DPX settings don't
1. Do I still need to rename the dxgi.dll file (is that the one in Binaries\SweetFX\dlls\SMAA dlls?) to d3d11? (I have installed the ENB with SweetFX version)
2. With this mod installed do I still need the Mass Effect 2 to dark FIX mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/135?tab=description)?
3. Also, can somebody explain what the #define HDRPower 0.85 and #define radius2 0.80 suggested in the sticky post does.
Hi, You only need rename the file if there is an issue, normally it should work fine though. The dark fix should work fine with this, I've never actually used it, but you can try it with or without if you'd like. The hdr reference is to the lines in the sweetfx preset file. It's gives a slightly altered lightset in the game with the HDR setting.
My question about the dark fix mod was actually not about compatibility. From what I read in the description on your mod I think maybe the changes in the dark fix are not necessary as that problem are already fixed. But I don't know for sure. That "slightly altered lightset" just gives the game a more brighter picture right?
Hi, Try it out without the dark fix, if you think you may need it after, then give it a try. Although I've never used it myself. And yes, the slightly altered lightset does give you a slightly brighter picture. I usually use it with this and it's fine https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/154
This reshade and the one you made for ME1 are game changers, I could NOT stop pressing scroll lock and turning the reshade on and off through the whole play through because its just staggeringly different. Details that are THERE on the models but you just cannot see without this reshade make the games look 1000x better.
There were so many spots I remembered looking amazing and looked amazing with the reshade but when i turned the reshade off it was just a "what the hell this is not what i remember" moment. These presets really make Mass effect look how you remember they should look.
Thank you for the effort, as a first time player on pc with mods (after countless play throughs on console) I cant imagine playing it without this.
I've tried all versions of this mod but every time I install it the game looks as if everything were made out of grain or sand, not sure if I make myself clear, but is this normal?
For the record, I have already installed ALOT and Film Grain is off (tried with both on and off).
You can notice specially in Shepard's forehead (in game the effect is worse because it won't stop moving, like a dusty effect or something), you can also easily see it on the red background.
Ok Nvidia, that's good. Gives us a couple more options to work with. It looks like the lumasharpen is coming out to strong. Are you using the reshade with sweetfx version or the enb with sweetfx version? Let me know which version you are using so I can help you adjust that.
As well have you added the ME2 Graphics Tweak? https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/154 Install the ALOT version.
Thank you for your work with this mod! It works fantastically. I finished my PC not long ago and this is my first time through my favorite trilogy using it. With your mod, I can't even compare this playthrough to my xbox 360 experience! Seriously, so much more enjoyable seeing my favorite characters in this level of detail. I bet your mod will even give the remaster a run for its money!
Also, your youtube videos were super helpful as I am new to modding. I know those probably took some time to produce so just wanted to give you a shout out! Thanks again, man. It was actually pretty rewarding to have some issues and then take some time to use your vids to get it set up right. It was just that much more rewarding when it booted up and I got to see the drastic improvement.
Hope all is well and that you and your family stay safe during this pandemic.
