The source code for Buffout is now closed source. So unlikely unless someone figures out how Fudgyduff made the change and replicates it.
So in summary unless you're in VR, if you want the latest Buffout fixes, stick with the original. If you like the newer crashlogging in NG, then stick with this.

I had the same problem, don't bother trying to even launch without mods. This game is not functional without fix mods. Get UFO4P, Buffout, PRP, Weapon Debris Crash Fix and High FPS Physics Fix but still limit the fps to 60. Then it works. Use the original Buffout btw, this one is out of date.
Would also recommend using BethINI to apply its recommended tweaks to your ini files.
According to the notes, this version does not have the function to remove the limit on the maximum number of BA2 files that is part of the original Buffout 4. I am guessing that you have a large load order with more than 512 ( or 256 - can't remember this morning) BA2 files associated to active mods. Breaking the maximum number of BA2 files allowed is at least one of the causes of the behavior you described. Check to see the number of BA2 files in your Fallout 4 Data directory.
If you are still on Fallout v1.10.163 and have a large mod load order, then you need to use the original. If you are on 1.10.198, the original is broken and I am not sure if the author is still coding Fallout 4 mods. Does anyone know of a mod that removes the BA2 limit?
I was unable to get every feature of this mod working in Fallout 4 VR until I installed the mod "xSE PluginPreloader F4" but before that it wouldn't work. None of the mods you listed had it as a requirement but the old version of buffout 4 does have this requirement. Please update the requirements as it would've saved me about 2 hours of wondering why my achievements were disabled and the crash logging with "aop" didn't work either. Also if you're wondering "xSE PluginPreloader F4" does support F4VR, you can see lines for it in the xml file.
This has got to be like the best plugin ever made. Back when I was using the old Buffout I was unable to start a new game. Installed this one and immediately I can start a new game.
Iam trying to fix this Problem for hours now, even with no mods active my game crashes right after launching. I use every requirement for the mod changed the Preloader and also the Buffout.toml file... I use Win11 Crashlog sais:

Would also recommend using BethINI to apply its recommended tweaks to your ini files.
If you are still on Fallout v1.10.163 and have a large mod load order, then you need to use the original. If you are on 1.10.198, the original is broken and I am not sure if the author is still coding Fallout 4 mods. Does anyone know of a mod that removes the BA2 limit?
