Aw man, I really love the goal of this mod. I always like having my characters only eat prewar food. But, an xp boost means absolutely nothing to me.
Would it be possible to give these items a different bonus? Maybe the caffeinated effect? That would be spectacular. Or even a 10 percent run speed bonus would be nice.
I gave 10% move speed a look, not sure how I'd create it. Probably could with some trial and error testing, but this mod was initially quite simple as a copy of the effect from squirrel stew and tweaking it up a bit. If there's another mod that adds a temporary move speed buff via consumable that I could take a look at and see how they did it that would decrease the time I'd have to spend figuring it out greatly...

This mod is great! It makes the useless consumable items useful in a very immersive and subtle manner. I'd also love to see a similar buff for the Nuka World snacks. Maybe do something quirky with the Nuka World consumables to make them stand out, like having Funnel Cakes make you move faster due to being 357% your daily recommended dose of sucrose?
What a fun idea. I've been planning a straight edge character who doesn't drink or do chems, this will fit perfectly give her something to hoard besides Nuka Cola. A Nuka World update would be welcome as previously mentioned, and perhaps a snack addiction would be a fun addition, like an XP debuff instead when addicted and not on snacks.
Makes Piper's companion freebies extra welcome too, by the way. All in all a great idea that adds functionality and appeal to a range of items that most of us considered trash in countless of playthroughs. And without making them unimmersive or gamebreaking. The only thing we need now is proper eating animations, especially for the bubblegum <0
