Does this mod actually give you credits to spend on CC?

How or Where do you craft tokens? only previous versions of the game had non-encoded files, so you can't just mess with the files now, it would take a highly trained programming expert.

I would rather have this than anything in Paid Mo.... I mean... "Creation Club's Official DLC".

LOL, this is even worse than Bethesda's other attempt at paid modding! They should just stop with this.

And 900mb of that is preloaded content that does nothing unless you buy stuff from the creation club.

You literally have all the power armor and weapon models textures and scripts loaded on your hard drive.

In fact you can use the creation kit to make free versions of the mods they want you to buy!! lol

But if you don't use it in anyway it does nothing but take up room on your drive.

I actually run the game on a separate ssd, when i got the update plus tentacles and squirming anchivies I just unpacked it all and had a look at it in nifskope. I found absolutely nothing worth making an esp for, so I think the Kreation klub is safe from people using their assets so far, also, don't you think its weird how all the mods are bethesda game centric? *rubs chin, raises an eyebrow*

The truth is this may very well kill off fallout 4 modding since everytime they add more mods your exe will update. There for F4SE will constantly need to be updated which may drive the script extender team away. Which most big new feature mods rely on.

Really they'll update the .exe with each content release ? Source on that one ?

I second the request for a source for that comment joshuaskidds. I figured it would only be an update the first time for the integration, not every time a mod was added. That seems unlikely. Not saying it isn't possible, just unlikely.

The source is the initial CC update itself. They downloaded the mods you could buy from the CC to your pc. If this is going to be their model for how it will work, then your game will need to update everytime a new mod is added to the CC.

Skip to 6:01 for the bit about the .exe changes!!

Now I have NO idea where he gets his info from, but this does not look good imo.

Go watch Gopher's video on this he went way more in depth, and touched on the topic of game updates, F4SE, and the exe file going into the future.

So, am I correct in assuming that turning off auto updates is the "fix" as he suggested?

Basically to sum up what Gopher said on the subject it goes like this. They may be downloading the mods as base game updates to get around memory limit issues on the console. But because of that every time they add these mod files it counts as a update and updates the exe file number as well, which throws off F4SE.

Yes turning off auto updates could work but could also get vastly annoying with other games.

Wait a tic. I went into Steam settings today and there is no "Only update when I play" option. Which, since I always launched via F4SE, was never an issue!!! How do I stop updates now??

DERP UPDATE: NM. I found it. I'm a goob. Forgot it was in individual game settings.

Back up your files and save them, that way if you find yourself updated, replace those updated files with your back up files. Problem solved, problem staying solved. It may be annoying, but worth doing. I'll be damned if I'm going to let Bethesda download all those extra fuggin files and take up space on my HD.

Wouldn't steam detect the file change and redownload what it believes to be the "correct" version ?

Not if you set it to only update on launch and only launch it via F4SE instead. Or, you could copy the game to somewhere else and rename it something like Fallout 4-Z and Steam won't ever touch it.

This is why companies like Steamy-Pile are worthless, even detrimental to every gamer. You have no say - what so ever - in the games you purchase. THEY will always be your gatekeeper. THEY will tell you, how you will play your game. THEY tell you when you can play your game. THEY will tell you what content you must have.

Bethesda (Barf-esda) could care less about anyone but their profits. There is no desire for them to create a masterpiece. Especially now, there is no hint of pride for them to do anything more then what will pass the initial sale. The quality of their delivered games are proof. They want ... no.. they EXPECT Modders to fix their incompetence AND they will now charge players for that "benefit".

The structure in place makes the game unplayable for people playing off an SSD or anything F4SE - (which is the only reason i still play). If Steamy-Pile cared about its players, they would allow an OPT-OUT for updates. Of course, with %profit sharing from the developers/publisher, players are nothing but $$ on a bean counters spreadsheet.

"Allow me to explain the science behind micropay freemium gaming. For years gaming was simple. You pay for the game and you enjoy. With mobile apps we now have the ability to make games that are boring and stupid. But if you pay for incentives, you're rewarded!
Free"mium". The "mium" is Latin for "not really."
It's a simple cycle. A never-ending loop based on RPG. Explore -> Collect -> Spend -> Improve. But whereas those just use the concept of XP or Experience Points, we've introduced the idea of micro-paying with money. Money. Money. Money money money money.
It's what everyone is doing. Freemium games are what's now. And it's all just a lot of harmless fun. "

Yeah.. this is how the Canadian minister of mobile gaming explained about freemium gaming.
The Bethesda CC isn't that much different... except I doubt South Park is going to make an episode to make fun of it, sadly.

Yeah, it's a shame they blew the launch of Creation Club. I'm all for the ability for modders to sell their mods if they want to as I think that it would create entire new industries and the content we would get would be incredible, but this isn't the way to do it. Honestly, the original way they wanted to do it was better. I'd like to say you can just ignore it, but we really can't because every time they add items to the CC it fills up your hard drive even if you don't want the things, and F4SE will need to get updated every time as well. If they don't change some of these things, Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE will just have to come off of my hard drive. I'll go back to original Skyrim and just not be able to play F4. It sucks, but they've left us little choice. And seriously, 5 dollars for one set of armor. The content is good quality, especially the furniture for which I saw a review on Youtube, but it's just too expensive.
