I made this for personal use, but I wanted to release it to the community. I've yet to be able to find a way to make a correct 16:10 version. I have no way of rendering at that resolution (I also got burned out on trying rather quickly). If someone wants to make a 16:10 version I can send them the .PSD or .MP4.
The third screenshot is with the game running GrimWolf ReShade BoS (or something like that). The main file was rendered a little brighter than concept so that people using ReShade and other post-process could still enjoy the menu.
The second image is just a screenshot from the original fallout games. I used it as a concept reference and included it so people could see.
By far my favorite main menu background, now unfortunately destroyed by the latest update (v1.10.20). The UI is now misaligned to the background and a creation club advertisement is obnoxiously blocking half of the "FALLOUT 4". Which thankfully the latter can be removed by installing this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26493/ Use this instead.
I love this mod, the idea behind it as well as the execution.
However, it painfully reminds me of how much I wanted this game to be a spiritual successor to the first two games and how much I got disappointed. No new coat of paint and no nostalgic menu overlay can hide the fact that the game design Bethesda chose for this title spits right in the face of the game's origin and dances on the graves of two of the grandest pc roleplaying games ever published.
I simply cannot stomach downloading it. Brings tears to my eyes.
I couldn't play this game if I couldn't mod it. I agree with you completely. Fallout 4 will never be a role playing game. It is a bonafide shooter without a prone button.
If I was you I would focus on Fallout 1's map exploration feature. Focus on the hardships of the wastes, the search for water and medicine. This will never be a Fallout RP game, but it can be a Fallout Survival Simulation... I feel your pain the more I think about it.
I love this mod. I've changed the description of my Fallout 1 and 2 Main Menu music mod to recommend and link this mod.
On a side note, I've been looking at your other mods and you've done some great stuff. Any chance you'd be willing to make a classic armored vault suit mod? I've been hoping someone would make one since the game released.
