It would be possible a version without the neck tattoo and "a little" cleaner, just a little.
I myself used his preset and removed the neck tattoo, but for some reason when I transfer the face with a face ripper, he does not want to pick up the beard, I have the requirements installed, and your danse works correctly, but if I remove the neck tattoo, I save split, and transfer the change with Face Ripper, the beard is not shown, it's so strange, so I ask for a version without a tattoo on the neck, I must be doing something wrong, I've done it many times, I do not know what's wrong xD
Hi, ok, I will work on a version without the grime and tattoo though will need some time. I am on vacation in a few days, so can set some time for it then. Stay tuned.
One thing you can try on your end that might work, is load my looksmenu preset in my optional section, make your changes and save to a new preset. Then in game, select Danse and load the character menu with him selected, and then go to the presets menu and load your new preset, it will change the face in game and save that to your save file. Something to try out.
I had tried that, but I did not keep a preset, directly save it after editing its preset to transfer it with face ripper later, I'm going to try to save a new preset with the changes and see if that works.
Color me intrigued. I can't decide if I love it or hate it, haha. I really need to see it in my game. I normally don't go for altering main NPC appearances but he does still look like " Danse."
I do have a question - how does this work with any other mods that may alter Danse, such as the mod that changes his relationship dialogue or makes him not get shot on sight by the BoS later in the game? I'm particularly looking at these -
Also, what about Unique Followers? I made up body tattoos just for Danse, so I wouldn't want to lose those. Based on FO4edit, I'd say they would conflict...I tried making a patch but I totally suck at those. We'll see if it works.
Hi, I am not familiar with the first two mods that change behaviors, but to test I would place my ESP before those two in load and see if my changes come through. As for the Unique Follower mod, I would think that might include face gen data so that will probably conflict. I would try placing my ESP after the unique mod and see if your tattoos get removed.
I don't think the dialogue mod conflicts with appearance mods for Danse. In my experience the no hostility mods all conflict with the appearance mods. Changing the load order may help though. The No BoS Hostility mod is the best one, if I may say that here.
I have also found that the more companion and faction mods per faction/companion you have running the more conflict you will have.
I think at this point, the one that I need to make compatible the most is Unique Companions...or perhaps there's a way I can edit this plugin to point his body texture to that folder. I loaded up my save and saw that Danse's appearance did change...but he was all smoothed like a baby's butt with no dirt/scars/eyebrows. I wonder if this is kinda like the "grey face" bug with Skyrim when you'd change someone's appearance mid-game. I started a new game to see...but of course now I have to actually get to the police station to check.
Hi, did you check the list of mods I have on the description page. For instance, the LooksMenu Customization Compendium includes a lot of the textures used for the scars, grime, etc. If you do not have that one installed at least to get all the textures folders, it is a possibility a lot of the features wont show up.
Yup, I already had all of them. I've noticed that any time I alter a follower's features with a plugin mod mid-game, they go all "baby butt" and lose their character creation details if I try and change it again. I had already altered his appearance with one of the mods listed above. I suspect it has something to do with the game already having their original facegen information coded to the save. I'll report back if Danse's appearance is correct once I get to the police station on this new game.
I wanted to report back that starting a new game did the trick! My patch did not work, however. Danse's nose ended up completely broken and twisted like a Picasso...not sure what went wrong there, lol. But after removing my patch, his nose looks fine. I'm hoping when I get to the point of being able to tell Danse to GTFO of his power armor (haha), I can further diagnose getting the mod to work with Unique Companions.
Can I ask what ENB you use? I'm using CFL and he ended up looking like an oompa loompa...but I think that's all ENB there. He appears very tan in your shots...but he's definitely crossed over to oompa loompa in mine, haha.
I also wanted to add that I really like your changes the more I think about it. I was quite happy with vanilla Danse for the longest time...until I noticed that he and the mayor of Diamond City share many of the same features. Then I noticed more and more of the NPC's looking too similar. Your mod really makes him look like a unique character. The same goes for Piper. So far those are the only two I've met in this run.
Oh...and one more question...do you know if it will break him if I try to add a tattoo overlay via showlooksmenu? I noticed that you have a neck tat on him and typically add one in my game as well. If the one you use actually comes with him via the Compendium it would make it even easier for me as I'll just directly edit the overlay file and replace it with my tattoo.
Hey, glad it worked out for you in a new game. I thought it would work out for you mid-game as that is what I have done to mine but maybe some of your tweaks get baked into the file, not sure. Anyway, regarding my ENB, it is my own custom preset, with just the SweetFX suite built into it for sharpness. I am planning on releasing my preset once I feel I have everything figured out as I wont be able to support it much at first. I would like to minimize requests or issues that people might get with different configurations.
As for the tattoo, yeah, you should be able to change the overlay. That tattoo is indeed from the Compendium set. Glad you are digging my visions of some of the companions, including Piper. Take care.
How do you do it? They look like completely new character, but still have resemblances of the old ones, enough to recognize who they are based off. This version of Danse is insane! Try and get a job at Bethesda, so companions in the future can look more memorable
Hey, thanks for the words. I have actually considered reaching out to Bethesda so you never know. My career is in UI design/programming as well as illustration/cartooning. As an avid gamer, taking the next step into game design especially character design is a dream job for me.
Cool! game designers make and break the games in my opinion. For instance, nightasy, who made jane bod (My fave body btw, and which I consider perfect) is now working for a game called ship of heroes. It's a small team, but he's working on the character creator, and so far the creator looks insane compared to other similar games they're basing the creator of. Like, he made the creator what it is, and it is glorious.
What I'm trying to say, is that if you get hired or not, by what company, don't make it bring you down, since you will be the one who will be making the company better with your work. So, anyone that doesn't hire you is their loss
Hi, I understand the author combined the mods with his "More Settlers" mod, but I do not use that mod. Also, what do you mean by outdated? Are there other versions of these same mods? Thanks for any info.

Still strong without being overly clean.
