Hey Doom! I'm wondering if the same principles you sued to make this mod could be used to move/remove the item on display altogether. When crafting armor, I'd like to see my character's appearance change and have it not covered by the stupid picture of the armor or whatever, as leaving the crafting bench just to look at my character and then go back in is very time consuming.
question for you, the author of the XM2076 was having issues where the model viewed with the laser pointer attached would include the laser mesh in it, which when then centred would only end up showing the laser. would it be possible to use a transform to override that and recent re-centre it? if so might be worth sending him a quick inbox as last I saw he was trying to fix that
Not really, because the transform applies itself to the weapon no matter what mods are on the weapon. So if it were to be centered using a transform on the laser then it would offset any other combination of mods. You should tell the author to look at some of the lasers that I or TrophiHunter have used ( I used his set up with his permission ). They use a "billboard node" and I am not even sure how that works but, I guess "It just works".
Nice! Heh also I was about to ask exactly same question, I really dislike the way selected parts in crafting menu are highlighted. If anyone has any solutions, your help would be appreciated.
I am really glad to see someone willing to work on little things that matter, especially someone as talented as you I am sure you will find a way. A big thank you for your work.
Also by the way, have you ever been bugged by the lighting that shines on weapons/items in the preview mode? You know when you go to your inventory and click "Inspect" to take a closer look... To me the way lighting is positioned has really been somewhat annoying as I struggle rotating the model around to get the light to shine the right way in order to see the quality of textures and models a little better.
I think if it is even possible to mod it would be a big quality of life improvement for people who love to admire the details of modded items such as your weapons up close if the light in preview window could be slightly brightened and perhaps more appropriately positioned.
Looks much better ... One question/thought - Some rifles, when equipping long barrels tend to roll of the edge of eh screen, will this fix that issue?
BTW, if you're looking for inspiration for you're next weapon, I'd really like to see some of the "signature" weapons from Firefly, as I'm currently making a clothing mod of Firefly based costumes.
