REGARDING ARMS AND LEGS WHEN APPLYING PAINTS
XBOX ONE version NOW AVAILABLE!

VIDEO TUTORIAL:

COMING SOON...

PLEASE READ:
BETHESDA ORIGINALLY CREATED ALL PAINTS SO THAT EACH LIMB (ARMS AND LEGS) USED ONLY ONE TEXTURE FOR BOTH WHICH BASICALLY MADE THEM IDENTICAL. THE REASON THEY USED THIS METHOD IS BECAUSE THERE WERE NO DECALS OR TEXT TO WORRY ABOUT. AND MAYBE A BIT LAZY. I HOWEVER WANTED TO HAVE DECALS AND SCARRING ON EACH LIMB THAT WERE UNIQUE TO EACH ONE. SO I CREATED A TEXTURE FOR EACH LIMB. IT WAS INITIALLY TRICKY GETTING THIS TO WORK, BUT I MANAGED THANKS TO THE PAINT JOBS COMPILER.

ALL LIMBS HAVE THEIR OWN TEXTURE. THERE ARE NO MIRROR TEXTURES. IF YOU HAVE APPLIED THE PAINT TO AN ARM OR LEG AND IT IS MIRROR OR HAS BACKWARDS TEXT, THAT MEANS YOU HAVE ONLY APPLIED ONE TEXTURE FOR BOTH LIMBS. AGAIN, THE WAY IT WORKS IS THAT
F04DD AND F04DD2 BOTH CONTAIN TEXTURES FOR ONE COLOR SCHEME. IN THIS CASE THOSE WOULD BE THE RED CAMO DEVIL DOG SKINS. WHEN APPLYING THE PAINTS, F04DD WILL BE FOR ONE SIDE AND F04DD2 WILL BE THE OPPOSITE SIDE. BOTH THESE PAINTS HOWEVER ALSO HAVE 2 CHOICE FOR THE HELMET AND TORSO.

FOR THE GREEN CAMO COLOR SCHEME, THE PAINTS ARE FO4 WAR TAGS AND FO4WTLS. THESE ARE PAIRED. USE THEM TOGETHER. AGAIN, FO4 WAR TAGS IS FOR ONE SIDE AND FO4WTLS
IS FOR THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THESE ARE MEANT TO WORK TOGETHER SO THAT THERE ARE NO MIRROR TEXTURES. I WILL LOOK INTO FINDING A WAY TO LABEL THEM BETTER BUT FOR NOW PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION WHEN APPLYING THE PAINTS. AGAIN, IF YOU ARE SEEING MIRRORED TEXTURES ON THE ARMS AND LEGS, THAT MEANS YOU'VE ONLY USED ONE TEXTURE FOR BOTH. THAT IS THE INCORRECT WAY. I WILL PROVIDE A DIAGRAM FOR WHICH SIDE IS WHICH SOON. THANK YOU AND I HOPE THIS HELPS.

11/12/2016 - 1.1 Update:

INR rebuilt, allow for correct naming of armor base on side. This should result the confusion regarding which paint to apply to which Arm and Leg.

This means right and left Power Armor Paints will display a name (See photos)

Let me start by saying, I know Power Armor mods and Paint jobs in general are not that popular. Honestly, I played through most of the game myself without hardly using them. I only started because of the really nice PJ mod for the Raider PA by MadMax. So, that was a bit of inspiration that lead to me wanting to create something of my own for the other Power Armors. I do hope you guys at least give these a look after months of work.

This power armor paint jobs mod has been in the works for quite some time. It's been a labor of love of sorts. I enjoy FO4 but I enjoy being creative more. I'm actually an illustrator/graphic artist by trade. These paint jobs were created from a mash-up of various concepts based on the Vietnam War, WW2 and other military based Sci Fi themes. I wanted it to be gritty, displaying the tolls of war while proudly bearing battle scars. I also wanted them to be lore friendly as well as something unique.  This project has lead to some pleasant surprises along the way. It quickly grew in scope from a base concept into something  beyond what I had initially planned. I do hope you guys appreciate the level of work and time that went into this project regardless if you like them or not. Detailed texture work can be very demanding, but well worth the journey to an artist. Please explore and examine these paint jobs to the fullest. From head to toe. There are little things that you may miss. These paints were designed to be viewed up close and personal. All textures are available in both 2k and 4k. So, with that said, I present to you FO4 War Tags.

As we all know, one of the biggest draws to Bethesda's open world RPGs is the ability to mod and add our own content to the game. In doing so, it also gives us the freedom to create our own stories and lore within their established history. Same thing I did with Lost Paladins, I now have the chance to do for FO4. So this is a brief history of Alpha 1.

Before the Great war of there existed a Mechanized Calvary Unit of Marines known as Alpha 1. All information or reference to their existence was classified. They were an elite unit of fighting men and women well trained in mechanized warfare. Real Diplomacy comes at a price. In order to ensure peace, there are times when diplomacy is not an option. Extreme measures are necessary. Alpha 1 was that measure. These marines took part in countless classified theaters of operation involving everything from target extractions, search and destroy or simple target eliminations. None of their exploits were documented for public record. They did what had to be done without the glory or celebrity or national recognition. All governments have secrets and pre-Great War America was no different. Alpha 1 was the USMC answer to all things necessary within the protocols of modern warfare.

There were rumors of a secret prototype version of Power Armor in use during Alpha 1's exploits. One in particular that fit the description of an early version of the X-01. However, as it has been documented, and is widely known, this was impossible since the X-01 was created post Great war, or was it?

No one knows what happened to Alpha 1 during the world ending 2 hour conflict of the Great War. It is said lost documents  have been found that hint at the existence of a secret Vault known as Vault A1A but no real evidence exist to substantiate this claim. After all, it's been over 200 years since the bombs fell. However, if one were so inclined to seek out this mysterious vault, supposedly, the mechanized Power Armor Units used by these elite soldiers and perhaps, the remains of the soldiers themselves can be found within this mysterious vault's depths. Again, this is all hearsay and nothing more.

That's a small sample of the back story I have in mind for my personal play through. if I get the chance, I would like to look into maybe creating Vault A1A as part of a questline to seek out the PAs and their paint jobs. Maybe even add a couple of frozen members of Alpha 1 as potential companions. Just a thought, but for now, enjoy the paints.

1. There are 16 variations in total with each Power Armor having 2 torso and helmet choices per color scheme with       unique designs.
2. Most all wear and tear has been hand drawn with matching normal maps to give each detail realistic depth.
3. Optional Matching jetpack with it's own unique decals and textures.
4. Legs and arms have individual textures so there is no duplicate symmetric design per PA set.
5. All paint jobs are Standalone. No replacers.
6. These paint jobs do not have special buffs or attributes attached to them. This allows the use of mods that keep       material attributes and asthetic PJs seperate.
7. Special For Nora tag for a couple of the PAs. Optional For Nate Tag available as well via the Downloads sections.

8. 4k and 2k versions now available.
9. 3 Standalone JetPack choices included.

1.0.3a:  Added optional Non-Glow Maps file as a possible fix for those having issues with gray reflections. (I haven't been able to pinpoint if this is in fact the issue but it's the only thing I could think of that might be the cause.)

1.0.3:
Minor corrections to the T-60 spec maps. Now with 3 standalone jetpack choices thanks to ThirdStorm. Each with their own designs. Death from Above, Red Rage and Green Machine.

1.0.2:
All files are archived in b2a format. Minor spelling corrections. Files are now saved as DXT1 with proper Mipmaps. adjusted the wear and tear spec maps to be a bit more ENB friendly with less brightness.
(Some ENBs still may not cooperate since they can all be very different. So please keep this in mind. It's impossible to make a spec map that works exactly the same with all ENBs.)

1. Simply download the file via NMM and install
2. Manually drag and drop the folder into your data folder
3. Paints labeled with FO4WarTags or FO4WTLS - Green Camo Version (Alpha 1 Standard Edition) Contain right and left limb textures for the green camo set.
4. Paints labeled with FO4WTDD or FO4WTDD2 - Red Devil Dogs Camo Version (Alpha 1 Devil Dogs Edition) Contain right and left limb textures for the red camo set.
5. Pay close attention to the limbs when adding paints. Make sure decals and numbers are facing the right way.
6.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: I use this frame re-texture with this mod. Very nice black frame.

Also I use http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5060/? along with http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40/? for the look in my screenshots. Have had no trouble with the spec maps being too bright. But again, each ENB is different so I may just make a dull metal version so as to address the issue altogether for those using ENBs that still have bright wear and tear.

Q: Are there any future plans for more paint jobs later?
A: Maybe, depends on how well these are received and after I've had a small break.

Q: Will these be available for Xbox One?
A: Currently working on uploading a version for Xbox One users.

Q: Would you consider doing similar Paint Jobs for a couple of the custom Power Armors?
A: Sure, if granted permission.

Q: Why are the numbers and decals backwards on the legs and arms when I use this?
A: Because you've added the wrong Paint to the wrong limb. Pay close attention to the limbs when using these.
