    Locked
    Sticky
    Regarding AFT users:
AFT needs to be loaded after Synthetic love. It probably will overwrite the ability of Nora to hack and pick locks. Don't use her for hacking and lockpicking when using AFT. There shouldn't be any other conflicts with AFT. I don't see a reason release a patch since you can have other followers who can also pick locks and hacks.

    About 0.3.0
The faction choice dialogues of Nora are slightly different from those of the base companions. They will talk with you once and if you cancel in the mid of dialogue they won't appear again. I probably will tweak this a bit in future versions.

    0.3.2
fixes stuck in animation while lockpicking and hacking

    Future Updates

    0.6.x
    Overhaul of the hiring/starting quest.

    0.9.x optimization
    - Nora Pickup Deacon Banter
    - Improve the Faction decision talks

i don't know if its just rare and has low odds. but once i reached max affinity with nor, her companion perk that has a chance to give3x xp (much like idiot savant) still hasn't triggered for me once. it should be noted my luck stat is at 2 so if the odds scale of that it would explain things. if anybody knows how it works or what the odds are id love to know

A surprisingly wholesome experience is achieved through the spliced voice lines, wish I had started this playthrough with the mod loaded and I would have spent just as much time on Nora's face as I did mine.

    Hi there Author.

I'm already 22hrs in the game when I came across your mod.

I'm curious, can I add her mid game without harming my game save? I'm currently in Kiddie Kingdom at Nuka World.

If it's doable, I intend to go back to DC to pick her up and return to Nuka World.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Stay safe and best regards.

Minus a better answer: Wait 'til you get back from your lovely holiday in Nuka. Make a save outside Diamond City. Install. Enter the city via it's doors & stairs and head to market to see if she's there and working as advertised. If yes, ok, if not then the answer's no. If no then uninstall the mod (all trace of it) and go back to the save you made outside Diamond City just before installing the mod.

I completed the game and am just playing mods I'm downloading (that don 't require a new game). She was invisible and could not find her. You have to load both files, the fixes don't seem to have the base info. I looked up her ref id in CK, brought her to me and she was still invisible. Resurrect, disable, enable worked but no voice. Anyway I downloaded the 0.3.0, overwrote it with 0.3.2, loaded older save and she was there, with voice and all. I put her way up in my load order, about 17 or so. It may have been conflicting with other mods, I run a ton, including several of my own. Anyway its working and I really enjoy it. Her ref id is xx000FB3, I have several Nora's, she is Synth Nora, that will give you the first two digits for her ref id. Good mod, I really enjoy it.

Unfortunate this mod got abandoned, cause in its current state it feels very unfinished. With Nora talking about having killed Kellog before ever rescuing Nick. Haven't noticed any issues like this with Nora Spouse Companion

Complaining about a mod you knew full well when you downloaded was at v0.3 stage (i.e. early beta) and last worked on in 2018 is a bit much, as is comparing it to a completed and more recently updated mod like Nora Spouse Companion (which isn't perfect either).

As for your specific example, I hear you. But bear in mind the Sole Survivor isn't supposed to know much about Synths or Institute in Act 1 anyway (that's the part up to and including the showdown with Kellogg), so it'd only make sense to install this mod after that.

It's not a complaint, more of an observation.

And yeah I'm not reading all the rest of that lol good for you though, or sorry you experienced that.

Well then I kindly suggest that you read and understand more of such mods before you risk writing observations lacking in value.

Ignore the grumpy pants here, I appreciate you putting this out there! Sometimes there are mods that are "abandoned" but basically finished anyway. So this is good to know. :)

Lover's Embrace doesn't appear to work. No Lover's Embrace message.
    - No other follower mods installed.
    - I've reached max affinity with Nora.
    - I've tried sleeping in a base-game settlement where Nora is assigned to live, and is present.

Is this follower not meant to offer the Lover's Embrace perk?

Firstly great mod, works and does what it says on the tin.

I would like to ask/brainstorm some questions.  Is there a way to make this follow use a unique body/face.

Kinda new to modding, know the basics but so much to learn.  When I play a female character, I understand that Synth Nora uses the Nora meshes/files? so if I change my hair, eye color or anything with SLM, Synth Nora changes to suit. but I've seen a few mods here that I would like to get to work on just Synth Nora. Synth tattoo (looksmenu Overlay) at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community and or maybe IKAROS-Androids at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community.  Reasons just for Rping really, she's a Synth and I'd like her to look like one while still looking like a copy "face" without the need for my Nora to look the same.

If this isn't an option or possibility, could I get some help/ideas on how to adjust things in the CK from better and smarter modders who know what there doing.

This would just be for me and my play throughs.  I like to get my RP emersion on and keeping things in perspective, when I roll out a Nate run, I fire up the other Nora mod  Nora Spouse Companion at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community, which someone did do a unique body for, but again it's just for reasons.

Anyway any Help on this would be great, again top mod as is Patcazzo.

Oh if this has already been asked, then my bad.

EDIT: Check the bottom of the mod description. Author provides instructions and a useful tutorial video.

If you're willing to use the console you can edit her appearance in looksmenu once you find her.

find synth-nora and open the console. click synth-nora with console open; should display her ID. type command "showlooksmenu (synth-nora ID)" without the parenthesis or quotation marks. That should open the looks menu for synth-nora and allow you to edit her independently. I haven't tested that myself but maybe it'll do the trick? Not sure how author got synth-nora to copy the female player-character's appearance but if its using the same resource instead of making a duplicate then it will probably copy whatever changes you make to synth-nora to player-character too.

This method isn't working. I've had her for a while but then dismissed her. I previously changed her looks and all was good. When I went to get her back (it's been quite a while), the hairstyle I had given her was shooting out to outer space, which is usually a mesh problem. I opened the SLM menu  using her Refid (23000fb3) but it wouldn't let me change anything about her, including her hair. On exiting out of LM she went totally invisible. I could still talk to her and interact with her. I ended up dismissing her again.

So I've had a ... (dammit, I hate it when people start a sentence with SO and now I'm doing it ; ) ), anyway I've had a little play and had no luck with doing what I was hoping for, which isn't the mods fault.  It looks like Synth Nora is a carbon copy that shares her meshes with the female sole survivor, not a duplicate.  When I change either ones hair, eyes, tattoos or anything both are updated to suit once slm has been closed.  And that's fine, again not finding fault with the mod, I love it as is.

On a side note, and before I posted my first point, I had looked at the you tube video from the link on how to change npc's/companions through slm and the way he (Youtuber) went through the process, never worked for me ?  Find the companion (lets say Piper), bring up the console and click on her to get her id code, using help piper 4, find the original Piper model (which would be a different id code) and use place.atme to spawn her.  Again click on the 2nd piper to get her (new) id ref.  Use slm to make changes, save or close then de-spawn 2nd Piper and that should force the mesh up dates to your companion Piper, Phew !!!

Makes sense and the walk through is explained very well but for me the changes wouldn't update.  When I click on Piper (Cait, Preston and so on) I get a EP ref, Piper's being 00002f1f (EP) and its only with this ref will slm changes stay when I close the menu, there's no for me to search and spawn in the original.  So I figure I must be doing something wrong, somewhere

Like I say I'm still on training wheels here when trying to do things and I'll be the first to hold me hand up and say "Yes, I'm a muppet" when things all go Pete Tong and don't make sense, but its all good.

This worked for me. Here are the steps I followed:

      • I made most of my preset changes during Nate character set up; I switched sexes and got everything lined up for Nora except grime and facepaint for a COA makeover
      • After rolling in to Diamond City, Nora consistently shows my edits whether playing vanilla AFT (both vault-dweller and alternate starts), and she will always react as if the player is her spouse.
      • I requested her as a companion, THEN activated the AFT full manage
      • From there, I used the CONSOLE commands to edit her appearance (not the AFT-in mod settings) and they stuck.

If I tried to simply edit her appearance in AFT, it always reverted back to my original settings; for those with robust character creations, you can get all her features down before starting the game. For me, I only wanted to change her makeup, facepaint, and hairstyle periodically.

      UPDATE:

I'm an idiot. The procedures under the description work better. Here are my notes elaborating on them. I entered this all into a bat file so that I could just load it up in the console and follow the instructions there without having to switch out of the game or keep a paper copy nearby

      ; FALLOUT 4 - BAT SYNTHLOVE
; Mod instructions for "Synthetic Love" - a Nora Companion mod that's pretty awesome.
      ;
; Directions for changing Nora's face:
      ;
      ; Console commands:
; 1. place original spouse near the player - she needs to be edited.
;     [[A12 Note: She will appear somewhere in a 360-degree radius of the player in Vault 111 gear if vanilla or in casual wear if AFT. I initially thought that I needed to do this at her body in Vault 111, and it's not necessary.]]
      ;
      player.placeatme 000A7D35
      ;
; 2. toggle AI off: tai
; 3. (optional) toggle freecam for easier editing: tfc. [[A12 Note: Choose an open location with good lighting, if possible.]]
; 4. activate looks menu for the original: slm. [[A12 Note: Open the console and select the original Nora by clicking on her. Use her refid after the [slm] command: "slm [Nora's refid]" (example: slm ff0014fb). The looks menu will appear and should be visible through the console command prompt area. Make any changes during this step, then exit the looks menu.]]
; 5. disable original: disable. [[A12 Note: entering disable without exiting the slm may crash the game; let the disable command finish before trying to close the console or it may crash the game. You'll know it's successful if Nora disappears but the console remains open. Be patient]]
; 6. activate looks menu for Nora this time: slm. [[A12 Note: Same as previous. Select Synth Nora and enter "slm [Nora's refid]" (example: slm ff0014fb). You will not need to make changes here; if you wait 30-60 seconds and poke around, you'll see that her character model updates based on your changes to original Nora. If you enter something on Synth Nora here, don't worry -- it won't stick)

It's easier than it sounds, but I had to chase Noras for a while getting the hang of this.

So....    what happens if I do her quest?
Does she still stick around or does she leave me?

Would this mod be compatible with a mod that make it to where you have no negative affinity?

    Hi,

Great mod and such a great idea it should have been in the base game. It would be interesting if lone survivor plays Nora to add a different quest where they find out who is the synth and who is "the real" Nora. I think there is already an in-game quest where sole survivor is challenged as to are they actually a synth.

loved the mod, maybe you could use the new app to create new lines of voice? that could be even better instead of having the player silent.
