    Sticky
A new version of this mod, as a part of the updated and expanded Gruffydd's Signs and Posters, will be released in the next month (assuming all goes well in testing) over at AFKMods. A number of posters that were missed the first time around will be included.
It's going to be a whole new version, which means that existing objects won't transfer from one to the other. If you're happy with what you've got now, feel free to stick with this one, it's not going anywhere. If you want the expanded selection, plus all of the new custom signs and posters that will be in the release (well over 100 new ones), and are willing to re-place stuff from the old versions, keep an eye out over at AFKMods for the release announcement.

So, Im to understand that due to some unknown drama you've removed almost all your mods  from here. And sadly moved them to another site who's layout and interface hurts my soul. With that in mind, I REALLY gotta ask - are previous versions of your mods available there? Like, for example, if 1 doesnt want to update their game for a reason, can they download an older version of your mods that would work?
Thanks in advance and wishing you nice holidays/winter break :)

Not unknown drama. Unfortunately very known. The new policies regarding mod hosting here at Nexus are not ones that I can abide by, for a number of reasons.
No, there are not older versions available. That said, I can't think of why the current version wouldn't work with an older version of the game. Nothing in it should be version-dependent, as it just adds new stuff to the settlement menu.
By the way, there's an all-new version now available on that other site, with well over 100 new signs and posters, and a new modular format.

Sadly Gruffydd's Signs and Posters - Cities, Towns & Settlements - AFK Mods is not compatible with MO2, which is a real shame. Farewell.

It works with a manual install. Just drop the folders into your Data folder instead of where MO2 usually tries to put them, and then activate the mod as normal for a manual install.
The problem with MO2 is that it has a mutant file system that renames things when it encounters a character it doesn't like during an automated install. Which breaks every single path in the mod, because I, not being a user of MO2, was not aware of that, and used one of the "forbidden characters" in my file names.

Hi, so does this mean it won't work if I use the files that are in here? I downloaded the newest zip and tried to install the mod manually by putting the files in the Data folder, but although I was able to enable the mod in the game, it doesn't seem to be there. (There are no posters in my building menu. Was I supposed to put the files elsewhere?).

This version is an ancient, long-outdated version that I left up only for those people who for some reason only want this and none of the Gruffydd's Signs and Posters mod. If all you want are the vanilla posters that I had in as of when this mod was made, this one should work for you. The posters will end up in the Decorations menu, not their own folder.
If you want any of the other stuff, either the custom stuff I made or the expanded selection of vanilla assets that are in the Signs of the Times plugin for GS&P, do not use this mod.
If you're using the new version of GS&P, the first thing you need (as stated on the download page over at AFKMods) is SMM. Install it, get it running. Then, once it is running, download and install GS&P.
I've been told that if you're using the latest version of MO2, it actually works now without having to go through the rigamarole of a completely manual install. But if you try it and it still doesn't work, then you just need to put the file folders in your Data folder for your game in the appropriate spots (the folder structure matches, so if you follow that you shouldn't go wrong).
Again, though, all of this is only with GS&P found over at AFKMods. The stuff here is ancient and not compatible.

It's funny he no longer wants post his new mods on nexus but he makes his newer mod dependent on a mod that only on nexus. if you dislike nexus so much why use anything on it.

Awesome mod, a note for any MO2 user, you will need to install manually for this to work, that is, setting the data folder as SotTP instead of just auto install it.

A reminder, folks. If you haven't bought the Mechanist DLC, the posters added from the DLC won't work for you.
Modders are not allowed to release DLC content to people who haven't bought the DLC, and this mod prevents unauthorized use by referencing Materials and Textures files that you will not have without the DLC.
This is not a bug. It's supposed to work this way.
You will still be able to use all of the other posters in this mod. You can use this mod without the DLC, you just won't be able to use the three posters from the DLC.

It shouldn't need one. All objects are in the vanilla menu.
Is it not working for you?

It's likely there is some other issue causing this problem for you. This is an old mod, from back before newer menu options were available, so it just puts them all in the vanilla menu. Unless you're using something that changes the vanilla menu structure, this should work.
That said, I highly recommend switching to the all-in-one categorized version, which is an add-on to Gruffydd's Signs and Posters. Not only does it have its own menu, it's categorized to reduce clutter and make stuff easier to find.

Fantastic mod, It recently broke for me and it was a good reminder to endorse and say thanks!

Question, any chance of more factor propaganda posters?
Really love the ones you've included and they "feel" more in line with I expect the factions to put forward as a message than some of the other mods.

There are some new posters added to the game by Far Harbor that would fit nicely in your mod.

They should all be in Decorations > Wall Decorations > Small Signs.
All the names begin with SOTTP, so if you scroll through to the latter part of the alphabet, you should find them all grouped together.

As far as I'm aware, it does work with Homemaker.
I use Homemaker myself, and have had no problems with this or any of my mods.
What made you think it's conflicting with Homemaker?

I've made a mod that adds a paper component for crafting posters and such. Can I make a patch so players can make your posters with paper?

      Sounds interesting. Sure, go ahead.
I assume you scrap books and such to get the components?

Yeah-- books, folders, cigars, burned magazines, etc: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7866
      Thanks for permission!

EDIT: Do you plan on making an SK patch? If you do, there'd need to be a merged SK/paper patch or else one will overwrite the categories or components of the other.

I don't have any plans to add SK at this time, mainly because SK doesn't add a lot for posters, especially with the vast majority of these being the same size (which means they'd mostly go into Small Posters).
It's still a minimal number of cluttered categories, with the added complication that a bunch of people won't use it because they aren't using SK, and every time Bethesda updates with new category keywords, it seems to cause problems.
If there were a way to subcategorize, I'd be all over that, but without the ability to do that, it seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

Other categories seemed to get a lot more love in SK, and I'm assuming it's because the people who designed it are more into things like furniture, landscaping, etc. than they are signs and posters. Otherwise, we'd have seen things like "Signs: Shops","Signs: Restaurants","Signs: Lodging", "Signs: Government", etc, instead of just "Small Signs" and "Large Signs", and similar love for different types of posters, such as "Posters: Art", "Posters: Advertisement", "Posters: Entertainment", etc.

Don't get me wrong - I use SK myself. It's wonderful for the other categories. It's just not so helpful for my own mods, so I'm leaving mine vanilla for now.

That's a great suggestion for SK. I've downloaded too many signs for my own good and could use categories like that. I've uploaded the patch here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7866. If you like it, I can make them for your other mods. Thanks!

      Sure, sounds good.
I put the link you provided on the desc page for this mod, so that people can link to it directly.
I'm assuming that they also need your mod for the patch to work, so I indicated that as well.

I just noticed the vault-tec poster (PosterVaultTec02) is attaching the wrong way around when I try to place it on a wall, making it appear invisble as there's no texture on the back of it. I also noticed a few posters here and there with what appear to be just plain, dirty paper textures, but as they're not bright purple I'm guessing that's not a matter of missing textures. Are those supposed to look like plain paper or did I stumble across a confusing variety of texture bug?

In an effort to not be all doom and gloom with the comments, I'd like to add that I'm loving the mod, the posters are really making a big difference in my settlements. Well deserving of an endorsement.

Heh. Whoops. I'll fix that Vault-Tec poster.
As to the dirty paper ones, I considered leaving those out, but my goal was to make *every* vanilla poster available, and those were actual textures in the vanilla posters. So, I included them, in case someone for some obscure reason wants them.
I still couldn't bring myself to add the one that is a whole wall covered with those, though. It seemed too much like pasting garbage to your walls....

This seems like a good time for another reminder... if you come across an in-game poster that I missed, please let me know which one (and if possible the id code for the object or at least a screen shot), so that I can add it.

Gotcha, I figured those posters were meant to be like that. I can probably use them to patch up holes or something, more options are always welcome in my book. Then again, I'm one of those weirdos who likes having garbage everywhere in my settlements, it's not Fallout if it's not absolutely filthy.

Okay, that poster should be fixed now, and be usable without pasting it to the inside of a window....
