Anyone using Vortex in 2024 (it got better...) after you select FO3 as your profile, click on the dashboard, you should see a toggle button to turn Archive Invald on or off...simple....

hey guys im a new to modding and i have fallout 3 off of epic games and ive gotten a bunch of mods to work but ive been trying to fix the textures but ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated app cant detect fallout 3 and even if i manually select the folder it says that it isnt fallout 3

The program is looking for "FalloutLauncher.exe." It works when changing the Fallout3.exe, from Steam install, to FalloutLauncher.exe. What I did was copy "Fallout3.exe", and renamed the new file, "Fallout3 - Copy" to "FalloutLauncher.exe." It worked for me.
For me it seems like all of the sudden it started to load a pixelated like TV LCD glitchy texture instead of stuff like metal shelfs, wood, some windows and metal pipes sticking out of the ground, please someone help me immediately.

- i am using mod organiser 2 - i have goty steam version but downgraded with the Fallout Anniversary Patcher which also includes lot of things i guess.
so i have no idea what ArchiveInvalidation is since i havent seen this in skyrim and this is not updated since 2009.
do i need this still in 2023? and if i do then can someone post a link of some article or youtube video that shows how to deal with this in 2023? thx.
Well, you don't. Select profiles tab in MO2. Select your profile (since you are new I suppose you only have the default profile). Check the box near the text "Automatic archive invalidation". Close it. That feature make this program obsolete. I suppose other mod managers already has this feature in it. Basically that means this mod is useless now
I think I managed to solve this problem! rename the executable "Fallout3" to "FalloutLauncher" and try again! then put the name that was before: "Fallout3"
Just tried this myself and can confirm that it did stop the "This is not the Fallout 3 Folder" error from popping up and the program ran as normal, so I guess we'll see if it ends up working as intended
Also i changed the fallout 3 exe to fallout launcher and archives inv worked but it gave me a warning saying the game folder is in program files so it may behave strangely
extract, add to steam as non steam game, run using proton experimental, advanced settings, name and add game, copy location via dolphin MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE “Z:” at the beginning and “Fallout3.exe / Fallout.ini at the end of the path., (for some reason .dot files didn’t show even changing the prefix setting via Winecfg)
save changes, click the drop down and select the game you just made, generate the txt. DONE.
Hello, I think I managed to find a solution to this "archive invalidation" problem, I tried for three days to solve this problem, I used this mod, I used the "ArchiveInvalidation File Generator" and nothing worked.
It should be noted that I tried this using MO2 and it never worked , so I used vortex and the problem was solved, I don't know why but when I enabled the "ArchiveInvalidation" option in MO2 it didn't work, no matter how many things I did, no matter how many methods I used and nothing, I don't know why it was or maybe I'm the one I didn't do something right which is the strange thing since I made sure to do everything to the letter, in the end I decided to try with vortex and I was able to install mods quietly, to enable the "ArchiveInvalidation" beggar, first download vortex, then see this video that personally helped me:

And that's what I did, honestly this is a headache, I leave this here for those who have the same problem, sorry for my English , English is not my mother tongue.
