I'm confused, probably missing something. What's the difference between the DX9 and FC versions? And the warning about Kadust hairs, do you mean the KS Hairs mod?
"FC" = "Ferelden Cuts", shorthand for the name of the mod "DX9" = a rendering API, the game can be played in DX9 but it only goes up to medium graphics and is meant for laptops/significantly older PCs/non gaming PCs "Kadust Hairs" = not KS Hairs, that's an entirely different mod (that I also did some minor ports for). a hair port I did ages ago of hairs by KadustUniverse, but people kept bothering me about it in rude ways, so I gave up trying to re-do the mod.
My first guess was FC = shorthand, but I was sure that was too easy ~facepalm~ Great, thank you! I love both these hairs and KS, so I would've taken days to decide which to use. Side note, when I'm doing first blitz-through choosing mods I don't pay attention to the authors much; I just looked and I have 16 of your mods picked just for this playthrough, you are amazing!
Haha it happens! KS Hairs is such a good mod and I love the work anshela did on it, I really want to port some more hairstyles and maybe she can update it.
omg <333 that makes me so happy to hear, I hope you enjoy the mods ;-;
this is the first da2 mod I'm downloading and maybe the... only? one? I've found that includes dreads? I downloaded the Smooth version + the dread replacer optional files (not sure if I used it correctly though). The hairs look good! There are some little gaps in the some of the styles where the head peeks through but its just the stress, hawke needs to start taking vitamins. The black is lighter/browner than the default black, but honestly the hairstyles I wanted look great and I'm really happy to have it!! For a moment I thought there were no dread styles but the slider is just super sensitive lol. Thank you!
I recommend all of these but especially Natural Hair and Additional Hair tints.
As for the gaps, it depends on the head mesh unfortunately. But you can edit the chargenmorph file - at the end of each 'hair' line you'll see a line that says 'cut="x"' where x is a number, 0 through 4 I believe? Fiddling with that will provide different levels of 'stubble' to the scalp to cover baldness/gaps.
im trying to use this mod but there's holes in all the hairs. does anyone know how I can fix this? i downloaded dx9 compatible smooth and fc smooth retex
An older version of Ferelden Cuts. Can you also remove all other mods and check with just this one installed? I'm unsure what other mods you might have so I'm unsure what else could be conflicting.
Very late reply, but I found the culprit! It's conflicting with a very old mod of yours I have labelled as "Merrill's Concept Art Hair Redux" (ponytail with side braids). I'll be sad to see it go, but I know there are a plethora of hair mods for Merrill to choose from
This mod is so great! although I am using the isabella hair on my male hawke and the chin piercing only shows when my hawke opens his mouth, it seems to be floating in there instead of on the chin
That's a weighting issue, I can't recall if anyone else ever said anything about it. I'm not super into modding DA2 right now but as I have a few projects I'm doing I might take a poke at it, if it's a pressing issue for you.
I'm having some issues with the beards. I downloaded the hotfix but it isn't working. I wonder if it's because... I think I have an old version of the mod, because mine DEFINITELY has Cassandra's hair, and you said further down that you don't have that file up anymore.
If you have an old version of the mod, don't download the hotfix for the beards. You either continue using the old file there or have to update to the new one.
I have what appears to be the old version that included different options for Fenris. Would it conflict if I moved that file to this laptop that has the newer version downloaded?
The Fenris hair change was the one with short hair from DAI and the version of this that I'm using is FC - Smooth.
unfortunately it will, if you want the old fenris hair though you can unpack the erf, flip the dds map in pshop or GIMP and save it and then use it that way. for now i have no intention of re-adding it only because i'm focusing on FNV modding, but if you really want i can get into it sometime within the next few days and flip the map myself
oh geez a very late response - itll be the textures under art->characters->playercharacter->shared->heads->textures. I believe DAI3 would be the one fenris uses, whichever is the smoothest hair texture.
hi, love your work but I have a question, how does the Dx9 versions should be install?, sorry for bothering you, I am using onether mod called inquisition cullen that use this mod for the hair but it doesn't work properly on dx9 in dx11 work like it should, but i can't play on it because when I play on dx11 it gave me CTD when loading some areas.
hey, dx9 version installs like normal although the hairs should be working fine in dx9 now? since it was updated. im not at home right now to see but can you tell me which version you're using?

How do I get the face and freckles for Anders' version? I only have his hairstyle.

Thank you!
I would actually recommend a tint mod to go with it, because default DA2 black is not true black. There are a few good options:
Black Hair Is Black 2 by MidnightVoyager
Additional Hair Tints by hakemes
LOTC s Hair Tints for DA2 by lastofthecouslands
Natural Hair by Verdical
I recommend all of these but especially Natural Hair and Additional Hair tints.
