For anyone who is having problems running their Brawler mods, I was having issues because my anti virus for some reason stole important files from the mods thinking they were viruses or something. Make sure you turn off real-time protection temporarily or add exclusions for the Yakuza mod files, it was really frustrating for a bit because it was running fine for 3 days then today suddenly my anti virus decided to f*#@ around.
honestly, great mod, but in the early game (idk about later) Ichiban's quickstep is WAY too short, I still get hit by most attacks, and it's way too easy to get stun locked in you're bleeding, or scared, or anything like that, the enemies don't relent
This mod is amazing and one can tell how much work you've poured into it! Playing with this mod is already pretty fun! It has a lot of potential. Pretty sure i'm not the first one to say this, but it would be so cool if your party members could join battle. Or alternatively, if you get defeated, you could fight as one of the team members too. Not sure how doable that would be though. Other than that, the combat still feels a bit clunky and could use some polishing. For example, some enemies hit you and you take 4-5 seconds to actually move again, and in that time they keep hitting you, resetting the time frame where you are stunned and can't do anything. (Unboxers in early game, for instance.) About enemies interrupting your punches and vice versa....... It could use some polishing too. It's hard for me to interrupt an enemy, but it's easy for multiple enemies to pummel me and it's hard to interrupt them spamming their attacks. And, lastly, ichibans combos could use a bit more lenient input windows.
That being said, I haven't seen all yet of what the mod has to offer, so i can't say about anything else yet. But i really love that you actually pulled it off. :)
I wish i had more gamedev experience with c# so i could join development lol. :D
from what I remember, I believe you still change jobs through hello work and then you go into Extreme Heat mode (RT on xbox controller) to change into your job and job outfit with job weapons. That's the only way to use jobs in this mod.
Decided to ""Delete" this cringe-ass comment i made. If you want the jist of what i was saying without the .. frankly crappy formatting i did (i thought it looked cool in the moment but changed my mind as of the time of writing, the 1st of april, 2024), here's what i was saying in a nutshell: Brawler Mechanics make like 90% of the game completely worthless besides just playing the main story. If your looking to experience Yakuza 7 in a better way than the original, i highly reccomnend the Legend Remix 7 mod, as that mod is pretty good and honestly makes the JRPG Combat kinda work. Also, the follow-up frames for attacks (Basically when another square/triangle input is accepted for a rush combo chain) are complete trash, with most giving you around 5 frames or less to press the button again. Skill Issue? Maybe, idk.
TL;DR If you REALLY wanna experience everything 7 has to offer while minimizing the growing pains of JRPG Combat, try the Legend Remix mod. If your looking to do a genuine 100% playthrough, doing everything in the game, this mod isnt for you. If you just wanna play the main story so you can skip to 8 which has way better combat than 7 (actually takes a lot of the brawler elements from the series and turns them into RPG mechanics in cool ways), go ahead and play this!
You can't really 100% the game because you can't call the phone buddies or w/e they're called. but this mod isn't meant to be played fully in the default punch punch style. You're given a ton of MP so that you can transform into EX Heat mode and that's where your weapons become important. idk if you can actually finish the game without those weapons because late game you do very little damage with your fists. It's just a different philosophy.
That might just be the worst retort i've ever gotten to a comment i've posted. Congrats, Adalricm! You've raised the bar for how stupid someone can be in my eyes.
yeah, it sucks that a lot of people's first experience with the game will be with this mod without even giving the turn based a proper chance or seeing what makes it appealing.
Oh mighty and holy @Jhrino! When will you grace us with like a brawler Infinite Wealth? This one might be still rough around the edges but damn if it makes the gameplay actually fun and more action packed! I understand that making it was a chore for the most part and you didn't disappoint, you deserve all the credits! Keep us posted for future updates on this mod and for LAB: IW i'm looking foward to enjoy IW properly.

For those of you asking if this mod works on PC Game Pass or Windows, no it does not. Only Steam and GOG versions can run it.
The game is currently on sale right now for 80% off on both stores until the 5th of January.
