Thank you. After the thousandth time trying to loot this station, loading previous saves, and going through such a headache inducing session of hell, I downloaded your mod to make the process smoother. It was hard enough hacking it the first time, but I am done doing it over and over again.
Hi ihatebois, thanks for the report. I just took a quick look though, and the part of the vanilla file that this modifies hasn't changed, at least since the 3.0 betas, so it should still work. Testing in-game now.
edit: just tested, and it still works on my game. Tried to dazzle a random trader with my wit and skill at smalltalk, and got 5 points close to the very ends of the bar.

I figured it out. For some reason it was unzipping the mod files incorrectly. It was creating an extra folder in the extensions folder called minigame_hack.zip-426- with the full zip file name as the folder name. I just moved the minigame_hack folder into the extensions folder and removed the extra folder minigame_hack.zip-426- and it worked.
Depends on what program and the settings you're using to extract the files, I guess. I use 7zip, and that has an option to "extract here" which extracts all of the files in the archive as is, and "extract to [filename]" which does what you just described.
Awesome! Just purchased the the game recently, and I too hate the "smalltalk" and "hacking" minigames. Although da hamstah is crazy, he thinks the X Rebirth has a lot of potential for expansion, and the minigames just makes things frustrating, not fun, ...then again, da Hamstah IS crazy.

Anyway, glad that you sorted it out.
You can simply extract the contents of the zip into \X Rebirth\extensions\
Relative to your Steam directory, by default, this is in \Steam\SteamApps\common\X Rebirth\extensions\
