Dumped this mod along with Plasma Miner on Steam Workshop. Subscribe from there, if you are still playing this game...

NOTE: I've been getting some questions from some people. If a component is destroyed, this mod will not allow you to repair it. This is just a simple repair laser, not a rebuild/reconstruct laser (however, I'll look into it aswell). Sorry for any confusions, if there was any.

    Hi
I am very excited about this mod. But I must ask. Is this mod compatible with X-rebirth 2.0: Secret Service Missions??? Or is this mod for just the basic X-Rebirth game? And should man overwrite with the optional Plasma Miner files the Welding Miner files? Just to be sure, I will wait for the answer. :)

Very nice mod, but you can't use the welder to open lockboxes, which you can do with the mining laser. :l

Any success with the "Create a "new weapon" in order to separate Mining Lasers from Welding Laser" TODO?

It's allright. I have to reinstall the game to make any fixes/etc... anyway. And I've already capped this month's limit. So yeah, go with my blessings.

    Just a thought,

Why not call it "Utility Laser" which repairs when fired at ships, and mines asteroids while fired at asteroids. Don't know if this is feasible, but just my 2 cents.

you should add a warning that this will break the newbie tutorial right at the start of the campaign where Yisha instructs you to destroy some asteroids with mining laser

Nope, this mod wont break this because you also can destroy the asteroids with the other weapon, you must not use the laser.

Perhaps you could reverse engineer a destroyed component repair laser from Supermans rebuild great wall of china vision.

This is a very handy mod. Reminds me of the repair in the old x games. Thanks for this

Cool, there was no way to repair fighters that I know of, I already have a 5 fighter squadron that I use with the fleet mod.

I'm glad people are finding use for this mod. I primarily made this to make up for the slack of my Engineers, but still

I really like this mod idea. Is it possible to do this with a drone weapon or add the mining laser to a drone?

    Good work BTW.

EDIT: Ah, just read a few posts down. I would really like to see this functionality in a drone. Glad that the idea has already been asked.

0.21 is out. It replaces the Mining Laser MKII aswell. Small changes, check "changes" for a full list.

If you are going to use the optional file, Plasma Miner, I'd suggest take a look at the "conflict.txt" before using it. For some reason, Plasma Miner conflicts with WOP, even though I use the "add" tag and WOP uses "replace"... Anyway, you can manually fix that if you read that text file.
